Hey everyone! Ok, so I've been slacking on posting my trip report, but I SWEAR I have a good reason. And that good reason is that I am a Disney addict. And as an addict, I was in PDD (Post Disney Depression) upon my return on the 23rd of September. And the best thing for my PDD is planning another trip, even one I know may not happen. So after hammering out the details of our BB trip next year, and planning an entire trip for my Aunt, Uncle and their 4 girls, I did something that no addict ever should....

....I priced out a random trip. :scared1: It started out as a joke, a "let's just get some prices" sort of thing. But in all honesty, I was jonesing for some of the good stuff. You know, that feeling you get when you see the castle. And I wanted that feeling ASAP. So I started looking on the Disney website. And discovered there are really cheap rates on at the values. Wow, really cheap. Like, $49 a night. But I'm sure flights will be pricey at the last minute. Oh, wait, I got a killer deal at 139 round trip, taxes included. So, I booked. I'm going AGAIN. And FYI, this "little trip" to tide me over, its six nights and seven days. :rotfl2:

Say it with me people, "My name is _____, and I am a Disney Addict". :rolleyes1

So, in a nutshell, I'm going back. And I'm completing the party trifecta this year, since I was at the P&PP in May, the Halloween Party in September and now will be at MVMCP (for the first time!!!) in a few short weeks.

Sorry for the interruption, I have digressed away from the original plan. My very first TR!!! Here we go.

Oh, brief intro to the cast.

Me, call me Alice. As you've noticed, I love Disney. I'm currently off work with a pretty serious injury to my spine and am awaiting an appointment with a neurosurgeon for potential spinal surgery. We're keeping our fingers crossed that isn't necessary. I only mention this, because sadly it came into play on the trip. Sigh.

DF(does that stand for Disney Friend?) Call her Mal. She loves Disney, and is currently working on completing her Masters major paper. We met when we both worked at a movie theatre, and have been friends for about 7 or so years.

Now that you know who's on the trip, let's get to it.

Day 1 - September 12th

The Plan: Wake up at an ungodly hour, catch a plane, land and book it to check in at the POLY!!!!!!!!!

The Reality: I'm sure this happens to everyone, but I just CANNOT sleep before Disney. Fortunatly, my anti-inflammatories that I'm one because of my injuries from the car accident earlier this year make me crash, so I woke from a drug induced sleep and bounded from my bed. I immediately called Mal, who was still asleep (we'll get to why in just a sec). I got dressed, ate some toast and bounced around the house like Tigger. Then I compulsively checked my checklist (yes, I'm that person). FINALLY, Mal arrives, we hop in the truck and head off to get come caffeine in me. Mal tells me how both her cats escaped the night before, and how she was out looking for them for hours and didn't get to sleep until 3:30. To put that into perspective, we hit the Starbucks drive thru at 5 am. ICKY! Not to mention, we don't sleep on planes, and we had a MNSSHP that night. I knew she'd get a Disney high when we arrived and all would be well.

So, we cross the boarder to Detroit no problem at all, and before I know it, we're checking in on our Spirit flight. I have to say, I really dislike flying Spirit, but they are so wicked cheap, I just suck it up. After choosing out two seats on the plane together (I refuse to pay for that, I don't need to sit with Mal, I just prefer to. But not for 10 bucks. That's money that can be placed in the hands of the Mouse, as far as I'm concerned) we went through Security in record time, and sat down to wait for our plane.

Here's some pics of us waiting to board!

The first of many attempts to photograph outselves....we are not masters of the self-portrait.

Nothing eventful happened on the plane, except when the stewardess laughed, actually laughed out loud, when I asked for a blanket. Ah, Spirit, you have such excellent customer service. Soon, we were landing in wonderful MCO, and Mal and I were breaking the world record for "Fastest Plane Disembarking and Arrival at ME Check-in". Honestly, we were off the plane, on the fake monorail and I was checking us in at the ME Counter in less than 15 minutes. I'd say an honest time prediction is 12 minutes, but only because we had to wait for the fake monorail. Once through that line, we hopped into the greatest ME line ever. The one for the GF and the Poly. AWESOME!! A few minutes later, we were boarded onto a crappy yellow Mears bus, and told we were stopping at about every Disney Deluxe resort before ours. And no video. Omg, would this be an omen for the rest of the trip?!?!

Day 1 - Continued

The Plan: Poly check-in, Deluxe Dining upgrade surprise reveal, get some lunch, and explore the resort, MNSSHP and diner at the Plaza.

The Reality: After dropping off guests at the GF and the Contemporary (so I over exaggerated the stops in the last post, can you blame me, I wanted to check in) we got to our home for the next 7 nights, the Poly. We were grinning from ear to ear, greeting the workers with "Aloha" and got totally geeked out when we were given our leis. We took a few pics of our arrival view of the resort before bounding into the lobby to check in.

The zoom was on, but for some reason, I kinda like this photo!

P1010018-1.jpg

While waiting in line, we chatted with Mark, whose job appeared to be "line greeter". We had a nice little chat with him about our plane ride, how many times we'd been to Disney and whether we'd stayed at the Poly before. It was a nice touch, it felt really welcoming. Before we knew it, we were getting called over to David to check in.

Now, being the Disney geeks we are, as soon as those leis hit our head, we began trying to remember the words to the song Timon sings to the hyenas trying to distract them in the Lion King. You know, when he refers to Pumbaa as a "tasty treat". Now, David overhears, and tells us he knows the words. And then bursts into song. It was s'wonderful, s'marvelous. We did a little song and dance right there in the lobby. David notes my room location request (we were staying GV, so I'd requested Tokelau, I'd heard it was good) and asks if I mind if he makes a suggestion. I, of course, say yes, you work here, you'll know best. He tells us we won't be disappointed, and that he has good news. Our room is ready! Amazing, I'm beyond thrilled.

At this point, Mark comes over to see how things are going. We tell him that David is amazing, that the Poly is great, we are truly bubbling over with joy just to be checking in there. David laughs at our enthusiasm and says "I can't believe how excited they are, and they don't even know I just upgraded them to a MK View." :dance3: :yay: :dance3: If you were at the Poly on the 12th of last month, and you saw two girls freaking out and jumping around like fools, it was us. I just could not believe we'd been upgraded. I hear about these sorts of things on the boards here, but I never, ever would have expected it to happen to us. Well, me specifically. I have HORRIBLE luck with things like that. Honestly, if there were a lottery where 99 of 100 people won, I'd be the 1 person with no winnings. So this was like a dream come true. :cheer2: for David!!!

Here's a pic of the boys!!
P1010025.jpg

Once we calmed down a bit, David continues to go over our ressie, and mentions that we're on Deluxe Dining. No response from Mal. He asks if we've been on Deluxe before, and I say no. He explains what it is, and Mal looks at me and goes "are we on deluxe?" and I smile and say "SURPRISE!". She totally 100% freaked out. She jumped back a few steps, and literally began loudly saying "OMG, OMG, I can't believe this" over and over. And then she gave me 1 million cool points. David and Mark were watching this with huge smiles on their faces, I think it must be nice to see people so excited to be at Disney. So, while we finished checking in, I secretly showed Mark where we'd be eating for the next 8 days, as Mal had elected to keep all the meals a secret until the day we'd actually eat there so the surprises would happen every day. Needless to say, the entire things was perfect, I could not have imagined anything greater.

We waved goodbye to our new friends and set off in search of the Tahiti building to locate our room, 2036. We bust in, and start taking pictures of EVERYTHING. As you'll see when I add them later.

Get ready for room photo extravaganza!!

Then, I get a chance to freak out. We open the drapes, and there, right there, is the castle. Jumping, screaming, total freak-out ensues. I was 100% in my happy place. :cloud9:

So, we unpacked our carry-on's after about 5 minutes of dancing around and then we realized it was about 1:30 and we'd had breakfast at 5 am. So off we went in search of our traditional "first meal is pizza". Of course, the Poly doesn't serve traditional pizza, so we boarded the monorail for the GF, wandered down to the CS and grabbed some pizza and some honey mustard and got our mugs. It was great. After we ate, we refilled our mugs and caught the monorail back to the Poly. Imagine my surprise that our luggage was already in our room. I really do love the ME.

We unpacked pretty quickly, and then watched some Disney Channel while getting ready for the Halloween party. This year, we were John and Tink for Peter Pan, which would have made more sense had our Pan and Wendy been able to come, but oh well!

DSCN0141.jpg

We did get some weird looks walking to the monorail....and on the monorail....and for the first 2 hours at the MK, since we used our party ticket to get in at 4 and did not see anyone else in costume for that entire time. :rolleyes1 Our first ride, fittingly, was Peter Pan, and then we did the Hall of Presidents for the first time. And my last time. Maybe it's because I'm Canadian, or maybe it's because over-Americana kinda freaks me out a bit, or maybe it's because I really don't like Bush, but that was a very long show. And I'd probably feel the same way if it were about my Prime Ministers, so please don't flame me or anything. It was just a bit more boring than I expected. But the theatre was nice and big and air-conditioned, so that was great.

After that, we had to make our ressie at the Plaza. I liked it, but Mal was less than impressed. It was pretty slow, so by the time we were done it was almost party time. We went over to do the Photopass by the HM, but it wasn't ready yet, so we went on the HM. Sadly, as we were about to board, the ride was shut down and we were given these cool any ride, any time fast passes. We filed out, did the HM picture and then made our way over to the photo spot for the carriage and did that. I almost forgot, we met the "ghost" that is out at the HM during the parties, I believe her name is Carlotta, and took some pics with her as well. She was great.

DSCN0159.jpg

After that, we just wandered the party, met some characters (and tried to get Tarzan 3 times, but we just kept missing him). We eventually watched the parade, and I did my best to flirt like a madwoman with the Captain pirate:, and he quite sweetly blew me kisses. What a good boy. Mal did BTM and then we went over so she could do SM as well (I can't do anything like that with the injuries) and then we sat in Cosmic Ray's and had some fries and a pop using snack credits. At this point, my back and neck and feet were killing me, and it was after 11, so we just took the boat back to the Poly. While walking to our room, I was in so much pain, I honestly thought I was going to be sick. Which, FYI, I hate a whole bunch, and will avoid at all costs. I managed to get to the room and into bed without being ill, which was great. Mal was great and bought me a pop from down the hall, and I pounded back my anti-inflammatory and some pain meds. I called down and set our wake-up call, and within 30 minutes, we were both unconscious.

Up next, Day 2. We have Kona Cafe, Epcot, Chefs de France, Coral Reef and something horrible happens. Stay tuned!!

My name is Christy and I'm a Disney addict!

So get those pics!! :) And don't leave me hanging with a teaser like that!!!! AARRGGHH!!! :)

First things first, welcome Christy! I'm glad we can admit our addiction, although I'm not looking to overcome it anytime soon. ;) I hope you enjoy the next instalment, although I cannot promise that there will not be more cliff-hanger endings!

Day Two - September 13th

The Plan: Breakfast at Kona (OOP), Epcot all day with lunch at Chefs and dinner at Coral Reef

The Reality: Woke up to Mickey and Stitch. I have to admit, I don't really like Stitch and wish there was a way to choose a character to wake up to. It's a bit too annoying for a wake-up call for this gal! Anyhow, I hit speaker to ensure that Mal wakes up, and immediately bounce from the bed to tear open the blinds. Normally, this does not happen, but we had a view of the CASTLE for goodness sake. :cloud9: We each got ready super quick while watching "The Brotherhood" (which is an episode of the Suite Life followed by an episode of Phin and Ferb, for those who don't have the DC) and then were on our way to Kona. I noticed that my feet seemed to be covered in blisters, but thought I'd just deal. Haha. Silly girl.

Breakfast at Kona was heaven, our first experience with both Tonga Toast and the Macadamia Nut Pancakes. This is not a dining report, but WOW, seriously. If there was a drooling smiley, I'd put it here. We then hopped on the monorail over to the T&TC, then hopped on the monorail to Epcot. During this exchange, we managed to score the coveted "Front Car". Our driver Tommy was super awesome.

P1010060-1.jpg

He told us all about the monorail; did you know it can reach speeds of over 60MPH? That's really fast!! I think the best part of the ride was when he slowed the monorail down so that we could get some amazing shots of the Ball with the fountain. I promise to add those once I get the pics from Mal.

P1010084-1.jpg

P1010087-1.jpg

Once we disembarked, we did the whole security check and went immediately to Spaceship Earth. I'd already ridden in May, but Mal hadn't been on in 2 years, and was anxious to see the changes. We always laugh when we get to the room showing the Egyptians "creating" paper. Does Disney not actually look into historical accuracy for these rides? Mal really liked the changes, I think they're pretty funny and we sent this postcard to a few people.

Epcotphotobmp.jpg

Here was where I had my first "mean person" encounter on the trip. There was clearly a line for those machines to send the postcards. A lady came up to see what was happening, actually said out loud "I wonder what this line is for", and when a machine became free, she stepped in front of me to take the machine I was walking towards. In fact, she cut me off so abruptly, I ran into her. She then turned and glared at me. :confused3 So I politely pointed out that she'd cut in front of the line and had taken my machine and that there was a line. Some words were exchanged, and she used some very choice 4 letter ones to express how much she did not care. I don't like confrontation like this, especially not in Disney, so I walked away to where Mal was sending a postcard on the other side. This "lady" continued to hurl insults to my back, and later when we were leaving, we walked past her and she told me to "have a nice f*@#ing day". How is that for class? Sigh, some people get really worked up over stuff. I just smiled really big, and told her that I hoped she'd have a magical day. Wiped the evil smirk right off her face, it works every time!

We moved on to grab a FP for Soarin, and stopped to split a key lime tart and a pop as a snack at Sunshine Seasons. By the time we were done mini break, our FP was up, so we hopped on Soarin before moving on to the Imagination Pavilion. We did the :3dglasses show first; I'm always baffled by how long that initial Kodak promo is. A little girl asked her mom if that was the ride when the promo ended. :rotfl2: We walked out and wandered over to the Figment ride. It was while we were on the ride that I noticed something was wrong with my vision. If I moved my finger from left to right in front of my right eye, there was a moment in the middle of the movement where I couldn't see my finger at all. I did it a few times, and every time there was a really weird blind spot. Of course, I freaked out, and kept my eye shut for the rest of the ride and put my sunglasses on right away when the ride was over. Mal suggested that maybe it was a side-effect of my medication I'm on from the accident, I thought maybe my retina was detaching, really, all reasons why we shouldn't watch House. We began to make our way to first aid when it just went away. How messed up is that? I have to say, I was honestly terrified for those 10 minutes. What we ended up hypothesizing happened was that I didn't put my sunglasses on for the walk over, and since my eyes are really light blue, they are super sensitive to light. So I walked over with my left eye closed and my right eye squinted. Probably what happened was I got one of those sunspots in my eye, you know if you look directly at a light and you get that dot for a bit? Well, it was probably that but a pretty large dot. Scared the bejebus out of me, that's for sure. But I was fine, so  !

Since we were now near the Character Spot, we decided to just suck it up and get in line to meet the gang. I'd specifically worn my red and white polka dot top (which now, having seen how I look in photo's, will never be worn again) so that I'd have a cute moment with Minnie. I'm such a geek!!! Anyhow, we met Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, Pluto and Goofy, and as a surprise at the end, Belle! Yay, she's my favourite princess, I love that movie soooo much.

Somehow, it was already time for us to eat again (Note: Deluxe Dining with very little 2 credit meals = tons of food all the time) so we made our way over to Chefs de France. Neither of us had dined here before, and it was fabu! We will totally dine here again.

After lunch, we tracked back to the UK in our never ending quest for Rabbit, and had a great interaction instead with Eeyore, Pooh and Tigger. It was like a crazy dance party, and I'd like to personally thank the workers for taking only 3 photos’ with our camera during our 5 minute interaction with the characters. Oh well, my memories are good, and it was probably the best time we've ever had with those characters.

Walking back through the WS, we met Aurora in France and I bee-lined for my Grey Goose Slushy. And was carded. WHAT? I'm 25, and I keep forgetting that in the states, 21 is legal. I'm used to Canada, where it's 19, and I could not pass for 19 anymore. 21, maybe. Since I'd only brought my passport with me on the trip that was left in our safe at the Poly. Mal came to my rescue, and ordered me one and used her ID. :worship: What a lifesaver, I'm not sure if I'm capable of passing that cart and not getting a drink!

I will now interrupt our regularly scheduled TR to remind you about those blisters from earlier. They'd been bugging me all day, which meant I was walking different. This is not good for my back. Around Germany, one of my blisters popped, and I almost collapsed. At that moment, for a brief second, that blister pop was 20 times worse than my back pain. Brutal. So, now I'm really hobbling, which 1) looks silly and 2) hurts my back. Mal thinks First Aid should be in my future, so we skip the rest of the countries and get me into First Aid. We got checked in my a very friendly nurse, who asked me a few questions about my pain levels and then took me in the back to look at my feet. I kid you not, she let out a tiny horrified gasp. Apparently, almost the entire bottoms of my feet were covered in blisters. So gross. She bandaged me up good, and told me that I was not to continue walking, not because of my blisters, but because of how unaligned my back was from walking with them. Seriously, I have to be in a wheelchair!?!? I have to convince Mal to push my fat butt around in a wheelchair? It was rough. And embarrassing. :headache: And awkward, because Mal would wheel me somewhere, and then I'd just hop out to get on the ride. I felt like people were judging me, thinking I was just super lazy. Ick.

So, Mal wheeled us over to get some FP for Test Track later, and we decided to try Mission Space, but the green side. We are both pretty bad with simulator rides, and Mal did the Red side one year and was super sick, but we thought this might be ok. Sadly, it was not. We weren't sick or anything, just felt kind of icky after. At this point, the day had really gone downhill. Fortunately, it was somehow time to eat AGAIN!

We jumped (well, Mal jumped, I was wheeled) over to Coral Reef. Again, a first for Mal, I'd been here before. Somehow, we were early, I'd written down our times wrong, but they still sat us ASAP, and we were up front by the tank!! Meal was good, nothing to rave about, but satisfying and the atmosphere was nice. Minus the little kids running around with a camera unsupervised that kept bumping into our table and the wait staff.

After dinner, we left to avoid the Illuminations crowd and I hobbled up to the room while Mal went down to fill our mugs, buy some pins in our hotel store and (how fantastic is she) get me a Poly wheelchair for the next day.

Up next, Day 3. We have Chef Mickey's, a waiter with a crush, MK all day with lunch at the Wave (OOP) and Ohana's for dinner. Do I make it through another day in a wheelchair? Is Mal pleased with my restaurant choices? Do we win a dream? Stay tuned!

I'm here. I've been waiting and wondering what happened to you. As you can see I too am going back again so I guess I'd better place my hand on the Unofficial guide and join they club.

I haven't reading day two yet so I will check back in later.

Okay all caught up.

What a brady bunch check in you had at the poly. All breaking out in songs like that. Very half-hour sitcomish.

How horrible about your feet. The first aid person actually gasped? I can't even image how much pain you must of been in. Has that ever happened before?

Hey Diamond, glad you found me!!

Lol, OMG, it was very Brady like, I can't wait to point that out to Mal, she'll get a kick out of it. It was one of many moments I wish we'd had on film, or even pics of, but I couldn't act too excited at check in, or she might have guessed something was up.

As for the blisters, I think I've only had a few in my life, and usually just those tiny ones on the back of your feet where sometimes a running shoe rubs, ya know? But because of my injuries, I'm not doing nearly as much walking as I used to, and apparently my feet went all tender on me. If the pics weren't so gross and of feet, which very few people like to see in the best of times, I'd post the pics. But since you're a fellow Canuck, picture a toonie. Now imagine a blister bigger than that. Now imagine 5 of those per foot. We called them "super blisters" in an attempt to make light of my brokeness. But don't worry, things get better, as you'll see in my next few posts. :goodvibes

Ahh, I just can't stay away!!! Although in the middle of this, I will be leaving to watch Grey's, but then I'll be back. So let's get started!

Day Three - September 14th

Up with the sun, and off on the monorail to Chef Mickey's!! I should mention that pushing a gal my size across the stone floor of the Poly in a rather old wheelchair was Mal's workout for the day. Too bad it was only 8am! Now, Chef Mickey's was a first for both Mal and I, and we were pretty stoked about getting to eat there. The character's were great, I took one of my fav photo's of the entire trip with Goofy here (I swear, there will be pics eventually) but overall, we were less than impressed. :confused3 We actually referred to it a few times as Chef Icky's. (Please, please don't flame me!!) The food just was not good, even by buffet standards.

Here's some pics!!

And then, there was this weird thing with a waiter. Not our waiter, just a random waiter. Buckle in for the entire story. Grab yourself some popcorn:: , I think this is a pretty great story.

So, we're seated and I happen to make eye contact with this waiter fellow. He smiles, I smile, it's Disney. And I'm human, I smile when someone smiles at me. :goodvibes I'd had my hair in a ponytail, because it is rather long, and I didn't want it in Mal's way while she was attempting to push me around. Now that we were seated, I took it out in to try to look better in photos. Waiter dude walks by and says "I like it down better" and keeps moving. Mal and I both looked at each other a bit confused by this randomness, but we ignored it. Then I started noticing that every time I looked up to see if a character was coming, I made eye contact with the waiter guy!! I eventually just started keeping me head down, as it was sort of awkward. :rolleyes1 Now, it's getting towards the end of our meal, and I happen to see the waiter guy again, and he motions to me something about a photo before we leave. Oh, that's what's happening. I explain to Mal that he must be the photographer, as we'd skipped the photo at the beginning because there was a huge line and they were ready to seat us. We have a good laugh about how self-involved I am and settle up our check and head over to the giant plate setting for our photo. Oddly enough, the waiter guy is not our photographer. I assume he's on break, we take the pics with our camera instead, and head out. Suddenly, we hear someone holler for us to stop. We turn, and there is waiter guy. He introduces himself as Jon Jon, and wants to know why we were leaving without me taking a picture WITH HIM. Umm, ok? So, I stand next to him, and I kid you not, he throws his arm around me, and to the best of my memory, his leg as well. There is a pic of this, I'll double check with Mal, and obviously post it.

Here's the pic! Mal agrees that at one point, he did throw his leg up, but that's not the photo, the photo looks like we're old friends.

P1010149-1.jpg

He then asks us if we have MySpace or Facebook, which honestly, neither of us do. I'm creeped out by the lack of privacy with those things, and HATE that others can post photos of me online without my permission. I think he thought we were lying, but really, we don't have it. He talked to us for a few minutes, and then he went back to work.

Please, please, someone agree with me how very strange that is. Oh, time to break for Grey's!! And I'm back.

After odd waiter encounter, we rode the monorail around to the Poly to return the wheelchair. It was hard to push (aka old) and I figured, if my back and/or feet start to hurt that bad, I'll just go back to the room for a rest and let Mal do all the big rides that I can't do with my injury anyhow. :sad1: We dropped the wheelchair off, and then we were MKing it up. We started in Adventureland, and made our way over to Frontierland, where we met Donald in his Pioneer/Davy Crockett outfit, which is flipping adorable. I totally refell in love with Donald on this trip.

DSCN0020.jpg

How it was time for lunch already, I don't know, but we made our way out of the park, back to the Contemporary for lunch at the Wave. Mal was excited to be trying a new restaurant, as was I. We were mildly impressed, but most likely would not go out of our way to eat there again. My back was still pretty sore from the day before, and my feet weren't feeling too great either, so Mal walked back to the MK and I took off on the monorail back to the Poly. I was happy we'd already discovered that it was faster and less of a walk to our room if we got off at the T&TC instead of riding around to the Poly itself. I took a shower, soaked my feet in salt water, took some pain pills and hooked myself up to my tens machine and settled in for a relaxing afternoon. Mal did Splash Mountain, looked for some things from a scavenger hunt I found online, saw a line for Transit Authority (weird, right?) and met Stitch before buying one of those cool metal Halloween luminaries they had for sale and then grabbed us some snacks for later, mint smoothies and a caramel apple. Gotta love those deluxe dining snack credits!!

She came back to the hotel room to find me in less pain and chipper spirits, since that night we had dinner in our hotel at Ohana's. I'd never been here for dinner, and neither had she, so we were both pretty excited. Well, it TOTALLY lived up to our expectations. I started with a Lapu Lapu in the lounge before dinner, which had sooooo much rum in it. OMG, so much rum. It came with me back to the room. I do love a good drink, but I'm usually strictly a vodka girl, so that was hard for me to drink. The food was great, we both really enjoyed ourselves, and Mal discovered her dessert love, Bread Pudding.

After dinner, I stumbled back to the room, drink in hand, to change so we could swim during Wishes. Literally everyone I saw asked about my drink, and I did a darn good job selling it. I'm going to say I convinced at least 3 people to purchase one immediately. I later realized why the drink hit me so hard. It probably had something to do with the Demoral I'd taken earlier. Sigh. Needless to say, I was literally on :cloud9: . We managed to change and get into the pool for Wishes, which was super cool, and then we sat on the beach and watched the EWP for the very first time ever. Goodness, that thing is retro. And as a result, I've had "A Whale of a Tale" stuck in my head ever since. But that's ok, who doesn't love that song...."I swear by my tattoo!". We totally sang along to every song in the EWP, so I'm thinking some people thought we were completely nuts!!

Once that was over, we walked back to our room, and I'm sure watched some Disney Channel before drifting off to sleep.

Up next - Day 4! Its MGM day (that's right, MGM). Will we ride TSM? Does Mal approve of my meal choices? Will we win a dream TODAY? What about Fantasmic? As always, stay tuned!!

Alice has a boyfriend, Alice has a boyfriend, Alice has a boy......okok...but how CUTE is that??;)

Slightly creepy too though :)

Hey, pics please!! And a Lapu Lapu if you would. :cool2:

The drink sound lovely but the waiter-guy sounds like a d**k (just take the "r" out of the word drink and you'll get the work I'm trying for).

Can you really see wishes from the poly pool? I knew you could see it from the dock but I didn't know you could see it from the pool.

I've done breakfast and dinner at Chef Mickey's. Breakfast was better IMO. So count yourself lucky. But then again, it really is all about the character interaction there. They have the big players so they get the crowds.

Signing on! Sorry about your pain and the VERY rude women not to mention the entirely freaky waiter! But, it sound like your making the best of it! Can't wait to read more and see some pics!!

Good lord, I wish it was that easy to get a boyfriend!! :rotfl:

Yeah, the waiter thing was a bit odd, especially for Disney, but made for one heck of a story! We laughed about it for the rest of the trip, and Mal would randomly say "Look out, it's Jon Jon!" just to freak me out! :lmao:

And the character interaction at CM was good, but I mean, they're all pretty much at the Character Spot at Epcot now....I'd just rather use a dining credit for something more substantial.....like Chefs de France.

And yes, you can see Wishes from the Poly pool, the volcano one. Probably not all of the lower down stuff, but enough that I was pleased. And the pipe the music in. It was wonderful!

I wanna see this picture!

Oh, it's coming, they're all coming, I promise. My friend has been working doubles all this week to help fund the very last minute November trip we are now taking, so....I'll get them one day when she isn't working 16 hours!!

Welcome! I'm so excited to have 4 readers!! I have to say, I almost love when weird things happen to me at Disney because it always makes for such great stories upon my return. And it gives you stuff to laugh about while you're there. But only at Disney, had I been at home in a mall or something with that woman saying those things to me, there may have been a brawl. :goodvibes

Hello, loving your TR can't wait to see pictures. That is hysterical about the waiter guy, but yes a bit creepy as well. Keep it coming.

Day Four - September 15th

The Plan: Cape May Cafe (B), TSM and other MGM things, ESPN Club, 50s Prime Time and Fantasmic.

The Reality: We got up in plenty of time to catch a bus to MGM and then hop the boat to Beach Club for breakie. However, the travel gods smiled once again, and we had our own bus. So when I asked the driver about the boat time to BC, as we had a ressie there, he just drove us directly. A smile and an innocent sounding question...almost always get me my way.:cool1: Mal was thrilled about breakfast, especially since they are in these really cute costumes. We had the greatest interaction here!!! There were crayons on the table, so we forged all of the character's signatures, and they were so excited when they saw that. Plus, I'd done the whole "Donald Duck #1" thing, since I LOVE Donald, and Chip came over first, and saw that, and circled it and wrote "NOT" next to it in giant letters, which was hilarious. But when Donald saw that, he crossed it out, and then wrote "You Stink" next to Chip's name on our table. Awesome!! Plus, I was wearing my Daisy and Donald shirt, and he was so excited about that, and then he saw my super old autograph book that has Donald on the front, and I was totally his favourite for the rest of the meal. He was showing my shirt to people, and every time he walked by, I got a kiss!! Am I six when I'm at Disney or what? I'm actually grinning like a maniac at my computer just thinking about it. :goodvibes

Here's some pics of the breakfast!

And then Donald wrote "You smell". It's classic!!

Somehow, even though breakfast was delicious and we at quite a bit, we made it to MGM just moments after rope drop. Mal literally sprinted to get us FP for TSM, while I had to walk because 1) no running with spinal injury and 2) no large, shovey crowds with said injury. I had to just hang back so that I didn't get jostled. Now, here is another possible flame moment, so I'll put my suit on....and I'm ready. Since I can't fight through the crowds like everyone else, our plan was for her to grab FP and get in line ASAP, and then I'd just meet up with her in line. So yes, I did have to pass about 30 people in line to get up to her. But it was for a health reason, so I only felt 20% bad. Plus, it didn't really deter anyone from going on any faster, since they just send single riders on alone. But flame me if you must!

TSM was great. I'm always bad at games/rides like that (Buzz is not my friend, but I love it) and this was no exception, but darn if it ain't fun!! By the time we went on through the line, we could get another FP, so we ended up riding 3 times that day. And I got no better. But I loves it!!! After that, we wandered through the Animation section and drew Minnie Mouse, and then met Sorcerer Mickey and a Wall-E cutout.

And then it was time for lunch. Can you see how all you do is eat on Deluxe?

We were eating at ESPN Club, so we grabbed the boat over to Boardwalk. The food was pretty good, but the service was horrible!! We'd go again though, it was empty and the food was better than what you can get in MGM (have to save the decent rood in there for dinners). Once back at MGM, we met Prince Caspian, which was the hottest, longest line of all time.

Note how horrible we both look. I can't even believe I'm posting these!!

Then we just kinda putzed around the park (aka I have no notes for the rest of the afternoon in the journal) but I'm thinking it was probably Muppets, Backlot, stuff like that. I know we didn't do the right side of the park at all on this visit, that much I remember. Then we had dinner at 50s. We've both eaten here before, and I've eaten here 5 times now, and I probably will not go back. It's not that the food isn't good, or that the atmosphere isn't fun, it's that I've never been sat even remotely close to my reservation time. EVER. We waited for 40 minutes for our table. And honestly, I just don't understand how that happens. Just stop taking reservations!!!! Because of our insanely long wait to be seated, and then the fact that our waitress served all the larger tables before us (even though we were seated first, and ready to order), by the time we got to Fantasmic it was standing room only, so we aborted the Fantasmic plan, hopped another empty bus back to our resort and watched Wishes on our balcony. I sure will miss Balcony Fireworks. It will never happen ever again probably. But there is something super great about being in pjs, freshly showered, drinking a diet coke and watching fireworks. It's one of those priceless moments, only it's actually about 200 dollars a night more than GV. ;)

Up Next - Day 5, and the trip isn't even half over!! MK before the opening, CP, the Dream Team, WCC and Mal's first time in the Castle. Plus, are those bedbugs? Stay tuned!!
