The 2 of you (Nicole & Karen) just crack me up!!! I can picture you hanging around the firering sipping on margueritas!!!![]()
Um. If it honestly wasn't the first weekend of May I probably would have showed up on your doorstep with my Disney Wine & Dine wineglass... ready to go!
I have to take 19 girls to Girl Scout Camp that weekend though in Indiana.
You sure it's that first weekend & not the second weekend of May?Hahahahaha!!!!
We need to find a race somewhere before PHM we can do. You said you can do St. Louis races? Maybe we should look there? I know you said Pet Sitting is crazy for you in the spring/summer/fall so probably trying to coax you to Chicago won't work.... but I have a SIL in St. Louis.. So I could do that....
Maybe we can design a cupcake shirt... our own logo & put all the cupcakes on the it.. like a list.. then we could all just order it- have it screen printed. I might have to work out a draft version to submit on the Cupcake thread.
Taking selfies - don't forgot that!!!![]()
Following along!![]()
Wahhhh! I wish it were a different weekend and you could come!![]()
Yes, St. Louis would probably work, it would have to be in September maybe? I am completely tempted to go to Chicago on September 16th to see Ed Sheeran (Savannah would DIE) but we're already going to KS to see him on the 2nd, so I think Rey might kill ME if I went to his concert in 2 different cities. There's no obsession here, not at all!
Let's run something easy though, like a 5K or a 10K. Cupcake attire is required. I think tutus as well.![]()
Thanks Ann. That was last summer, I gained a little in training for the PHM. Who gains weight running that much?!?! Me.
The short tutus are the only ones that work for me, they don't bother me at all, and I've heard a lot of complaints about long ones, so length might help?
on getting your room booked. I was just debating doing that myself today. Sadly... I would have to book boring old OKW since it is my home resort. I do love my home resort so don't get me wrong... but AKL (especially Kidani) is super cool and I think I would love to stay there for February I know I am going to try for January!!! Are you at AKL or Kidani?
We booked Jambo.
I stayed at Kidani in November and loved it except I was in literally in the room at the very end of one of the wings. It was a VERY long walk to the lobby/busses. That & lack of a quick meal place were the only negatives I had and they would never sway me from staying there again. I LOVED it.
But I am equally excited to try out Jambo..as I have never been. So it will be like a new experience!!!
Maybe we'll see you there in February!
I have not explored Jambo much. I know there is the big lobby. I guess I have assumed it has a similar layout to WL...with long halls leading off the lobby? Kidani...yes, there were horrid halls. I didn't mind so much because it was just one night.... and I was on the same floor as the lobby (is that first or second floor?) It was odd there was not a QS location... but Sanaa is a favorite restaurant of mine so I was happy to be near there.
As for february... maybeNice thing about OKW is there are two queens instead of the queen and pull out sofa... so that might work out just fine. I just wish it was a tad..
a tad fancier. I mean... no one stops at OKW to take pics of the lobby there.

Very very cool about being booked!!! You love AKL!!! Remember your telephoto lens this time, though!!! You must have savannah pictures and find my giraffe friend again and see if he still sticks his tongue out when he hears my name!!!![]()
Yay for another Pre Trip report
I think Tweedle dee and Dum sounds like fun costumes for the race
AKL is gorgeous
Love that giraffe pic![]()
I love reading about everyone's race plans. I am so excited to do the Glass Slipper Challenge! I think I am going to book Kidani this week and then when the 7 mth window opens see if I can get to Boardwalk just so we are within walking distance to the finish. However, I need to do research to see if that is worth it. It may be if my DH and DD can walk to the finish to see me, but if they can't and have to take the bus, we may just stay at our home resort, AKL. I usually finish just under 2 hrs so does anyone know if the parks will be open in that time frame?
Thanks so much Karen! I think we will book AKL this weekend. I just talked to DH about it. We just have to figure out if we want to fly down Wed. or Thurs. We plan on staying until Monday. I have to work so I can't take too much time off (I have classes and I can get people to cover, but shouldn't really be away too long). Knowing that you will be at AKL makes it even more tempting for me to stay there because while I don't know you, I feel that I will get to know you some before February and can meet you on the bus to the start lines. I think DH and DD will just stay back at the room and wait for me to get back. DH was joking that they will probably be just getting up and could eat breakfast while they wait for me. I told him this trip is about my race and not so much about getting to all our meals. We will be there as a family just after Thanksgiving so we can take a trip where things are less structured. Oh I am so excited to plan this and to "chat" with you all in the process!
Any running plans for the weekend?
Okay...all caught up in the banter! Great birthday party...and good job getting out there and running.
Trying to figure out how to get all the cupcakes to AKL...I wonder if they will all be booked by August when I want to book rooms?!
