The bad thing about that image is the worst part of storm is the east side and Florida would still take a big hit. Hopefully, the storm will just die off and became a tropical storm ..... Wish us luck because we are going to need it.
I won't believe it until it is done and over with. With Charley, he turned at the last minute. I hope it does stay away from us, I can't afford to restock for another hurricane.
Now if we could only make those images show it fizziling out on the ocean.... One can dream can't they.
BTW off topic to gshoemate...I LOVE that pic of your little boy and Mickey. It should be in the cruise brochure. I think that pic alone would sell me on a disney cruise. I can just see my little guy with Mickey on our trip next summer.... get a little teary eyed just thinking about it.
Even though we are 300 miles from the coast we are still in that cone........on the very west side in Mississippi. We are on the River. If it hits New Orleans or even Mississippi we will definatly get some heavy rain and wind.
We were debating today whether to go buy a few things just in case. I think we will see what tomorrow brings.
I would be interested in knowing how other people in Mississippi and Louisiana are taking this.
Kind of doom and gloom here in New Orleans. Being 10 feet below sea level is definitely not a good thing when a category 5 is heading toward you.
I posted another thread about this, but all the schools are closed tomorrow and the mayor has already called a voluntary evacuation for the city. I'm kinda in shock as I just got home late last night from WDW to this. Honestly, we really didn't know how things would be since all we were hearing was Florida TV coverage. DH is off at the hardware store right now and people are boarding up, which is probably the least of our worries, seeing that we live in a bowl. I love New Orleans, but hate it during hurricane season!
