I popped in last night but didn't have time to sit and type...just stand and read for a second and then run.
You know with all the talk on the CB about the dead/not so dead poster...I thought I would make sure everyone knows that the stuff in my life is not made up

my stories of struggles with everyday things in life is totally true...now let me regale you with my latest trial and tribulation
After last night I've decided that for Christmas next year I'm pulling out the easter tree that already has its little eggs on it and I'm not going to bother with lights or anything else. hehehe
I've already told you about the lights on the front of the house...so with that in mind, I pulled out the tree last night to put it up (this was of course after vacumming, dusting, and picking up the dinning room) I start pulling the pieces down and begin assembling this thing. My first mistake was that the part of the tree I thought was the bottom was really the middle

, so I take it apart and put in the right section (sucker must weigh 50 pounds!) I then put in the middle section (the formerly bottome section) and then jumped really high to put in the top section. I then dive into the middle of the tree to plug in all the prelit lights...prelit my @$$! I get it all together and the darn thing doesn't work...not a light even flickers. Once again I have that song running through my head..you know the "12 Pains of Christmas"!
I finally pull out an extension cord to test each of the strands of prelit lights and viola the whole dang thing comes on...apparently the cord is bad

I'm really excited, I stand up to admire my handywork only to discover that the entire middle section is dead

so once again I begin investigating...at this point I sounded more like a sailor on liberty than a jolly old elf!! after an hour of this torture I resort to finding a string of lights and wrapping the darn thing again.
All is going well until I realize the section that I've just done looks very pretty with the extra lights and now the rest of the tree looks ugly with so few lights on them. This leads to the decsion to add more lights to the rest of the dang thing.

First, I added a set of net lights to the tree. They actually looked pretty darn good. Then I pull out more lights to find some we have saved for a hundred plus years don't work. So there mom and I sit at midnight...pulling white lights out of a string that did work replacing them with colored lights. Of course they couldn't just fit in like that, we had to pull the white bulbs out of the bases and replace the bulbs with the colored lights.
Finally at 1 am I crawled into bed, only to be joined by a mini munchkin who was having trouble sleeping. So tonight I get to fight with a tree some more!!

I think I'd rather do this to my head than fight with the tree!! hehehehe
