Hi all...

Pam - prayers said for the girls - my kids too experienced way too may car fatalities at our school.

Not a good day here - have to attend a wake tonite for our former tennant - actually the only tennant we had in our first house - they lived there for 6 years - 2 of their kids same age as ours - he ws only 51 - don't know the cause of death.

Just got a call from the school - Chris suspended for 5 days for cutting class....which makes me very angry because he left this morning - came back in 15 minutes later - saying that his friend never picked him up and he was upset that because if it he was going to get suspended - I offered to call the school to explain that he was on his way and he said no - now I get a phone call that he did sign in late (but earlier that I thought) and cut 2 classes - plus - he called me from school saying that if he helped out with the wrestling match today after school he would not be suspended - so now I"m just confused and upset because I think he's lying to me....

Have to work tonite after the wake so I may not check in till tomorrow.

... yikes! I spoke to our vice-principal yesterday (or, rather, he spoke to ME)...my youngest, Dylan, cursed [kinda loud] in his 2nd period class when a fellow student kept bothering and teasing him.....he DID admit right away, to the vice-principal, that he did it (and WHY) - since he has not really gotten into trouble this year, the VP only gave him after-school detention instead of ISS (in-school suspension)....Dylan even 'fessed up to my DH and told him, so I am proud that he wasn't trying to hide it, or weasel out of anything, and that he took responsibility for his wrong-doings, although I certainly was not happy that he used profanity....

But as for Dylan

Since he was a good kid and confessed it and was driven to it, I think you should go easy on him, Kimmar

Well - I decided that sitting here stewing was doing me no good so I called chris - he reports that he did get to school at @8:05 - knew he was too late for the first class and ended up being late for the 2nd class too. I asked himwhat about his friend that was supposed to be picking him up he said "oh he's here now" - so I said "he could not call to let you know he was going in late? - that made both of you late." I should also say that we do live in walking distance from the school so that if the friend was not here in a timely fashion Chris certainly could have left and made it there on time.I guess my point is that this is a lesson in taking responsibility for himself and not relying on anyone. Now he is telling me that he spoke again with his teachers and he will only have 1 day of in-school suspension. Since Chris did make the effort to call me and let me know that he had gone back to the teachers to straighten this out I will believe him. Just another hurdle to overcome.

Feeling much better today, however my head is starting to hurt again. This warmer wacky wet weather is bad for my allergies... produces a ton of mold and really doesn't make life fun for me. That an I think my stomach was tired of junk food. I think we'll pack it in early tonight

Good Morning all...

I would never want Elaine to think she was a thread killer - not her...no way!!

Weather here continues to be crazy...it was 65 degrees yesterday!!
Maybe we are having a heat wave because I actually bought a new clothes dryer yesterday... .....I haven't had one in almost 3 years! Bought it at Lowes - just a basic model - it is the "match" to my washer. Of course they don't include the cord and Jeffrey was unsure which one we needed so it's not hooked up yet..

Not much else going on here - went to the wake Friday night - out for a quick dinner then came home and worked - dryer and grocery shopping yesterday - working till 3:30 today.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

We can't let you have that much fun...so thanks to Paula it was on page 2 when I looked!!

Oh and the first words out of E's mouth this morning were "We goin to Diney Worl day?" I guess he's heard about the dvc and figures we should use it early!!

Anyway, had a good day yesterday. Went and bought new buckets for the kids' toys. I need one more to put ALL of the m in and then the room will be cleaned up nice and tidy. They will have to pull things otu to find what they want but now they have floor space. Nothing like having 2 50 gallon totes stuffed and still needing more!! These kids have way too much crap!!

Need to go to Lowes today and pick out our new toilet. I have money left after paying off he bills and paying off DVC so we are going to replace the toilet in our downstairs bathroom (the one you have to turn on to flush It is very inconvient for guests!!)

We really need to clean up the christmas decorations (they are turned off and taken out of public view).

Anyway, ya'll have a great day and I'm going to go torment my child and find some breakfast!!

Have been back from N.M., and Texas for a few days now. Dis board has been giving me problems. Had a great time. It was a little cold for me. Prefer the warmth of Arizona.

Elaine...Todd and Mandy have AC for their DS. They also have it on gamecube. The girls are driving us crazy with their nintendogs.

Tara...when did you book your trip home for? We did book our weekend trip to Tennessee We only went once last year so we are really homesick, even Mandy can't wait to go. We are now thinking of Michigan for our week long trip this year.

Paula...you make me really worry about the teen years to come, although my own nieces and nephews have already put the fear in me.

Alan...Cassie loves POTC as well as Harry Potter. I would prefer her not to watch any of it, but I am picking my battles.

I think I will take a nap before heading back to church tonight. I also need to find out what is needed for the homeless lunches this month and get clothes ready for the week.

Welcome home Tina!! Glad the weather at home is good for you!!

Amanda...we are arriving on Thanksgiving day again.

However, we are going to Baltimore for Spring Break. I'm trying to figure out what exactly we want to do and then where to stay. I've found (through Expedia) lodging ranging from $67/night to $330/night. I think i'm going to go something around the $100 to $130 range. I am definately spoiled by my Disney hotels and I really don't want to stay in any really nasty places. So I need to start researching and see what I can find.

For anyone following my swollen lip saga I'd like to update you on the latest development...it appears over the last two days that the lip thing is disappearing!! No more botox lips!!

Now for the bad news...it has moved to the right side of my face and under my eye...my eyes have been swollen the last couple of mornings and now I have some kind of bumps under my eye that itch and the whole right side of my face feels like I've been hit with a two by four. I'm going to call and make an appt to see the doc for monday the 15th since it is a holiday and i won't miss any school. I'm sure it will still be a mess by then...or at least some other part of my face will be affected!

Headed to bed for the night!

Rainy, windy, and cold here. Blech! I want those mid-50's back.

Tara, glad the lips are better, but boo on the eyes and face. Hope the dr. can get to the bottom of what is wrong.

We got back around midnight last night, so I'm letting the boys sleep in a bit this morning. I wish I could just go back to bed.
