Good morning gang!

:rotfl: Elaine please feel free to psycho analyze me...it's been done and it usually results :confused3

as for the cost of bras...yes I would probably have a stroke if I paid $40 or $60 for a bra! Heck I won't buy any article of clothing that costs that much!! When I was looking at jeans the other day and they were $30 I was just as happy they didn't have any that fit me!!

I guess I'm just more of a Walmart girl when it comes to clothes. I like my jeans under $20 and I like my bras the same. Maybe that's why I'm no style maven!! :rotfl:

I realized that I really need to go to Walmart TODAY! I went to feed the dog her mix of dry and canned food only to realize I had no canned food left. So I looked in the fridge to see what I could add to her food so she would eat...we were out of au jus, cooking grease, or any other kind of left over....so she ended up with a teaspoon of sour cream on her breakfast!! :rotfl: she ate it AND took her pills in it so we were good to go! but now I think she needs some decent food before dinner time tonight!

off to play before I begin sanding the doors I took down yesterday!

Well Tara my only psycho analyzing I will do is say we get ideas of how men are from our own family. Whether they are right or not, that is the type we seem to be drawn to. Either that or they were so dang negative that we look for the total opposite.

As for clothes... if you can find me a bra in a 32F that is under $20, I'll buy it ;) Though some 32Es do fit (if they are made more "full"... once you get that size, it totally varies from maker to maker). I really miss the days of $20-25 bras. Jeans... well there I can't help ya, but I'm sure we can find good stuff at Walmart. I have no luck with my body shape and wound up going for $$$$ Though if you don't mind $25-30 jeans, Old Navy did me well for many years.
The rest of my clothing comes off of clearance. I found that I get better fitting clothing at more expensive stores, just on the clearance rack. I'm a total bargain shopper. I waited for a $70 sweater to go down to $20 before I bought it not too long ago :p

Glad the sour cream worked for food. Cleo actually likes water (plain and simple) mixed with hers now and then (crazy cat)

Not sure what we are doing now... but I think kicking back for a while is in store for us.

whoa Dolly!!! :rotfl: I guess a 32e/f might be more difficult to find!! Man I feel bad with my b/c these days  (the number gets higher and the cup size gets smaller!!)

I thought about going to old navy but all the stuff I see from those places seem to have the acid wash / worn look and i would prefer to have jeans that start off light in color but aren't frayed. I prefer to be able to look at the fray and know that I've done it!!

anyone want my oldest...he's tired grumpy and generally a pain in the butt today!!

gota run and feed the other one!!! back later!

Afternoon, all. About to go out for my b'day lunch, woohoo! Sam Seltzer's gives you a free bottle of wine the week of your b'day, so I get a good steak and a good wine, too. Our local one is on mall property, so then we're going to shop for more school clothes.

Elaine, sounds like my friend Joyce. She's tiny-4'9" and maybe 85 pounds. I think she ends up with wacoals. Not cheap, that's for sure. I haven't been to VS for years-they didn't have my size. Now that we've got Cacique, I'm tempted to check them out. That doesn't help you much, but if you're bigger than a size 14 in clothes, the lingerie works.

Speaking of which, I seem to have lost some weight along the way. If you find, it, I'm sorry-I don't want it back.

Tara, I know several single, successful guys, but one's in Alexandria, one's in Maryland and a couple are on LI. My nephew is near you, but married with 2 kids. I now know of two people who met their spouses through match.com, but that is definitely a full time proposition. Take it from me, the crazy lady who took out a personal ad! :rotfl:

Kimmar, I'd look for your sunglasses, but I don't think I'll find them.

Sherry, good thing you can hop in that pool if it gets too hot. Stay cool.

Looks like everyone else has been crazy busy this weekend. I had a good day at work yesterday and then vegemetated at home. Next weekend, I've got off and we're headed up to RM's neck o' the woods to see our buddy Donna. Apparently, it's not that popular an area this time of year, the hotel room was really cheap!

My car must have liked the attention from the dealer. I'm back over to them in the am. Cross your fingers that it's a warranty issue-I'm still under it.

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone!

Suzanne

:rotfl: yeah, i'm not into the personal ads! I don't think I would have the nerve to do it either!!!!!

okay, we are outta here..headed to Walmart and BJ's. We'll be back! (I can write bad checks tonight!! :woohoo: )

Dolly? :rotfl: OMG, that is too funny! No way am I *that* big!!!!!!! I'm just big enough that I am limited in where I can shop and have them really fit. I will wear some of my ill fitting bras still, but I love what I have so far.

We do need to shop together though. Try these http://www.oldnavy.com/browse/product.do?cid=5465&pid=296652
Old Navy's low rise, boot cut STRETCH! I can always find them for $25-30. The only reason why I do not wear them now is because the difference in the hip in the 4 and 2 is too much. The waist fit, but the hips were too tight. I guess they assume that if you are a 2 you magically lose your rear quarters... stupid people  They did well for me in larger sizes though. The stretch was very very important to me... the others didn't fit right otherwise.

And they came in light and dark washes that weren't acid or worn ;)

Suzanne, I did try a couple Walcol's but they only had them in the 32F which did NOT fit. They run average so I was out of luck with them I believe not on sale they are about $60 each. The brand I liked was Natori... they run larger though which gave me more selection.
Glad you were able to veg some this weekend! I did some of that today! It's kind of nice to be able to do that now and then :)

But I need to see what Luis has in mind for supper, so I best run to see if I need to make anything or if we need to duke it out on where to go :p

hehehe i couldn't help myself with the Dolly!! (you know Alan is going to have a field day with this conversation when he gets back on Monday!!)

Made it to Walmart and bought (read: put on layaway) Jarrod's school clothes...the boy's jeans look like high waters so I had to get him some longer ones but they had very few in the slim size...the poor kid looks like a string bean! I also found him some very cool shirts on the clearance rack. He also got the usual underwear and such but he made out really well. In a couple of weeks I'll go back and get it out of hock!

And I found some jeans for me....Lee Riders Eased stretch straight leg jeans. The sit just below the belly button (mid rise I think they are called....low rise would look horrible with my flabby tummy! :teeth: ) These actually fit my thighs nicely and felt good. I also bought two new shirts that are not turtle necks and don't have high collars!! Very cute they are. They are on layaway too! Now I have to go update my mom jeans thread so that I can let folks know I finally found some :rotfl:

kids are in bed and i'm going to play on the computer for a bit and then go to bed myself!

i'll check back to either bump or talk before I go to bed!!

Yay for Suzanne getting to go out for a b'day lunch!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: Whatcha order?????

Elaine - go braless - it's the new look! :thumbsup2 I must confess that I started the last post and worked my way up from there - I thought you guys were talking about the clone sheep, Dolly! Either way, Alan will have tons of fun tomorrow! :lmao:

Tara - yay for school clothes! I have my two all outfitted! (I can't believe I still buy my college kid clothes, though! So much for the starving college kid persona! My girl takes shrimp and steak back to her apartment for the school week. )

A well fed college student is a successful one...one living on beer and cold pizza...welll...that would be me!! :lmao: just kidding...I didn't do the cold pizza!! :teeth:

Good morning Ya Yas!

Have not done ketchup except for the Dolly conversation. Ouch. :earseek:

Will go back and read all I've missed this weekend.

Good morning everyone! Decided to get a jump start on my cleaning before I sat down to post today

Tara, sounds like you got a lot of good stuff at Walmart!!! I used to exclusively wear Lee jeans. I knew exactly what size I needed in them w/o any worry. It was pretty awesome. Long story why I don't wear them. You should be proud of yourself for those non-mom jeans :teeth: Sounds like a nice rise on them... about what the low rise at Old Navy really is (their ultra low is still higher than my current low rise from Lucky)

Awww Pam, you are just a nice mom!!! It's nice when college kids don't feel like they have to buy *everything* they own. But the steak and shrimp? Wow, my dad just sent me cookies :rotfl:

Howdy Lily! I hope all has been well for you :)

Sherry, so sorry to hear about the candle and wax damage. Glad that is all that happened.

Kimmar, I don’t think I said this yet. Congratulations on sending in that Masters project! So whatcha gonna do with the rest of your time?

Tara, read your thread on the mystery man. Hope you enjoy the time. Don’t stress about it. Just be you. Either it will work or not. Go with the attitude of enjoying.

Elaine, watch Pirates for me again please!

Suzanne, hope you enjoyed your b-day treat. Good luck with the car.

Good morning y'all!

Y'all weren't very talkative over the weekend, but it still took me a while to get through Tiara's dating advice thread. :teeth:

I say Blind dates are a good thing. If you don't like him, you can toss a dog biscuit to his guide dog and when he checks to see what is going on, you can run away. ::yes::

BTW, after reading your description of former dating adventures I can see why you are scared. You are soooo much more valuable than those creeps you've wound up with. Maybe he will be better. We can't all be jerks.

Well okay, we can be. :rolleyes1 But it doesn't always have to be the primary part of the personality.

You know, for two shy girls, Lainey and Tiara are getting a lot of info off their chest so to speak. :) I'd post the "This thread is useless without pics" smilie, but I'm trying to be supportive.

Speaking of which, pay the extra money for the better bra, Tiara. ;)

Now as far as Wal-Mart goes, we packed up the whole family and went out on Friday night to a new one (the 3rd Super Wal-Mart) that has opened in our town. :teeth:

Well, shucks! I had already made the previous comments before I read this. I didn't know there was going to be pressure on me, or I may have gone more over the top. As it was, I think I have shown great restraint.

Oh my! Poor little innocent me. I've already been turning away from the high kicking YaYas in standard issue white, but now braless YaYa's too?

It's just too much for me. I can't take all of this exposure on the thread.

So y'all feel free to send me PMs with photos one at a time instead.

Lily, I would be glad to watch it again for you! I'll make time for it on my schedule this week if I can :p

Alan... I don't know where to even begin with you now

Doing a trial test on a cake... just for the heck of it. CLothes are in the dryer and stuff is being washes so I can make icing later on.

Alan, you are my hero  always there to support us when we need it most.

Elaine, who gets to eat the cake? I know you can't be eating your bakery and getting so those smaller sizes. So what kind of cake/icing is the new one your are trying?

Break is over...off to work I go tra la la

First time I've been on the net since Saturday afternoon.

Suzanne, sounds like a yummy b-day dinner. :)

I ended up emailing YC. They said I can send in my candle and get a replacement. Yeah, I'd send it in, if it weren't in the garbage in pieces. :rolleyes1

 to all!!

Alan... :rotfl: the guide dog part was great! I will have to remember that!! As for the bras...with three women in the house I'm sure you are going to get your fill of hearing about bras and the costs!! And you are right you all are not ALL jerks!!!

Lily...glad they let you drop in for a bit!! Don't work too hard!

Sherry...hope things are going well for you! I think Elaine and I ended up talkign to each other all weekend!!

Elaine...I'll be a guinea pig for your cake! I'll have to check out Old Navy. My problem is that these trendy jeans always look like they are worn out. hmmm...I'll go check them out before school starts!!

Went to counseling this morning with Jar and then to B&N to get a book but they have to order it for me :( The ncie part is that it was over $25 so they are shipping it free to my house! I was good and didn't buy anything else!!

Then we had lunch and went to BJ's and got the groceries we needed. did very well picking up just what we needed!! yeah me! Now i'm ready for a nap!

I'll be back later!!
tara

Lily, I made the cake for my knitting group, but if you would like some (you too Tara) I'd be glad to share!
Oh and keeping the weight off? I don't eat much anyway, but when I do... I just do a power work out like today. When it is 100° out, I get out our self propelled mower and cut the grass. When I decide the self propelled part is moving too slow, I just push it myself :p

Sherry, that is the most pathetic answer I've heard for a broken candle. I'd reply back w/ not such a nice reply there!

Tara, did you not like talking to me this weekend? :sad1: I figured everyone is enjoying the last of summer ::yes::
Oh and if you go to where the folded selection of jeans is at Old Navy, you'll find them. I really do think the low rise isn't really that low so I'd start there. The ones folded come in nice dark washes as well as normal looking lighter washes. I really did like them a lot until the cut was different in the size smaller! I admit I am not for all the trendy looks. I want classic looks that will last!
I think next weekend if it is so quiet, we'll just have to meet in person. More fun tot talk to each other that way ;)
