Happy Mother's Day!!

We had a nice dinner out with my mom and brother. Got some cute slippers from my nephew Emilio, and some yummy smelling gel and hand lotion from my nephew Caleb.

Elaine, no special reason for the pics. I had a free 10X13 coupon and we decided we'd do just us this time, as its been 16 years since we've had a professional pic done.

Sherry, that's cool that you got it done, and for a good reason too! Luis and I haven't really had anything done since our wedding/engagment package. Luis and I probably should do it again just for the heck of it, like you guys did.

I'm about to go get my dad's car and check on his house one last time. Since it is going to rain, this is the only time I have to go there w/o having to walk in the rain. It sure isn't pretty out, but at least the rain is done for an hour or two.

AFternoon gang,

i can finally get on the puter at work!! woohoo!! I have a detainee here with me this afternoon so since I actually had to *work* today I figured I could play this afternoon!!

Sounds like all had a good weekend. Glad to hear it. I'm not even going to get in on the Alan bashing!! I figure I could use an extra cabana boy if he decides to jump ship!

My db took all of us out for mother's day dinner last night. We went to a Japanese sushi place that also has kitchen dinners. Shortly after we arrived the rain started pouring and we could hear the thunder and people said the lightening was bad outside. The lights flickered 5 or 6 times and we all laughed about dining by candel light. The joke was on us...ended up with the power going off just before we got our food. Nothing like not being able to see what you are eating at a sushi place!! hehehe

Thankgoodness they were cooking with gas so they were able to finish the kitchen dinners. They had to quit doing the sushi because of the temp of the cases. I had terriyaki and it was delicious. The power was off at my house too and we were panicing because we thought we would miss survivor (i only wanted to know who won...I didn't really care about the whole 3 hour thing!) alas, the lights came back on about 20 minutes before the show started!! yeah!! But boo hoo on the outcome!!

Well, add me to the redecorating group. Mom has decided she wants to redo the kitchen. ugh! We picked out paints that we liked (didn't buy yet), we picked out several peel and stick floor tiles to take home and mull over, and we picked out a couple of counter top looks. So we are going to start selling everything we own so we can get money to do it!! So by the time we get it done we might not even have anything in the house!! (I would love to get rid of lots of stuf!!) I think the colors we have picked out will be nice. now all i have to do is tear out the umpteen layers of linoleum, sand the floor, seal it (or prime it or some such thing) and then put the tiles down. then I need to take down the kitchen cabint doors and sand them smooth again, prime them and then paint them, and then return them to their rightful places. Then the carpet has to be steam cleaned and the walls need to be painted. (Mom can help with some but not as much as she would like...her job will be to keep the heathens out of my way!! I think I'll be getting the easier portion of this!!)

Okay, gonna go and clean up my desk so that I can go home! More later...maybe!!

Sounds like yesterday went well for all. I'm glad to hear it. My DB#1 came to visit Mom. She was enjoying his company for sure.

Tara, must have been some storms there. Gald you got to end your dinner and then watch your shows. Seems like you have a lot of projects lined up to keep you busy. Whew! I'm exhausted just reading about it.

Elaine, enjoy your visit with your Dad. I hope you get that tree saved. Sounds like a replanting may be happening if the rodents are already picking our rooms in the old one.

The procedure went well today. It spawned another. I go for endoscopy as soon as we get back from Cancun. Otherwise all is as it usually is. I spent the afternoon napping and am caught up on sleep. DH is still tired. He came home at 4:30 this morning and took me. We got back in time for afternoon nap, but I think he needs way more than that. I'm going to have a quiet evening.

Nancy, it's been off and on for me as well. At some points it isn't quite so rough, but for the most part, posting is a PITA. I'll come in when I can

Tara, good luck with the redecorating! Sorry about the power going out as well. Fortunately so far this spring hasn't been too bad for us with that. At least your food was able to be served! Otherwise that would've been awful!

Lily, glad to hear that the procedure went well for you, though sorry it did spawn another. Just enjoy that trip you will have! I bet you could use that vacation. And yes, I think we are in for replanting. We'll do what we can this year, and if not... then I will call someone to replace it. I don't even want to plant it myself. I just want the beautiful weeping cherry we had back!

Dropped my dad's car off at the airport for him. Then we got chinese and ice cream. Just waht I needed tonight Decided to skip knitting with all we had to do. Kind of nice to just sit home for a while. And GA will be on soon so I won't have to worry about missing that!.
