Poseidon Adventure is the ship capsizing one.
Old version has Shelley Winters and Ernest Borgnine in it. One of the first "disaster" movies. I love it.
Then there was a TV version that came out last year, I think it was.
And now a new theatrical version that comes out today! That is on my list.
Maybe Sunday or next week, if Christin wants to go.

We had (and I mean that it is only about 15 miles) a Wal-Mart open several years ago. I hate Wal-Mart, but I go because I do like their prices.
We also have 2 Kohl's coming in that I have noticed signs for. One over by the Wal-mart and one farther away by the "big" mall.

Morning, all. Very tired here and probably going back in for a nap!

Event yesterday was great. Very busy. The booth next to me was a BBQ joint and they kept feeding me pulled pork and brisket. YUM! My boss was with me for a couple of hours, then I did the rest alone. Lots of fun talking to people and helping them create cookie kits.

Nancy, YAY on the Target and Costco nearby. I love both, just hate where the Target is situated here. We do go there for our prescriptions, though, so I tough it out. Cross your fingers that the Costco has a gas station-they really are the cheapest around. The one here doesn't have gas, but the one by my stepdad does.

Kimmie, holding off on the carpet's a bummer. Can't help but feel bad for the kitty.

Pam, are ya really busy making roadkill jerky? We miss ya!

JRKaren, have fun in the World. I think you've got my cell if you wanna do a non disney thing or something outside the parks. If not, PM me!

Paula, :grouphug: to get you through the day!

Lainey, I'll take your rain, lol. We had drizzles last night. My lawn finally looks something like green.

Poseidon Adventure-original was great, second story was very interesting. I keep reading that they don't develop the characters in this one at all. Curious to get your feedback, Nancy. Ed is an Irwin Allen junkie and I know this one's calling out to him.

I have to hit costco in a bit to p/u the Dinosaurs DVD. The baby has Ed's personality to a T. That's one of his presents, then off to Best Buy for a couple of CD's he not so subtly hinted he wanted. Suits me, they'll end up on my iPod! :D

The DIS is like a 45 played at 33 1/3 right now!

Suzanne

Good morning, Ya Yas!

 Have a wonderful trip, Karen!! Been missing you around these parts!

Been missing you too, Pam! What's up in your neck of the woods? Did or will DS go to his prom this year? Any interesting camping trips to tell us about? We could really use an infusion of your wonderful sense of humor here, ya know!

Laine, kick yourself in the rear and go get those new drip pans! A shiny, sparkling stove is so much more fun to cook on than a dull, scratched, stained one.

Nancy, I can't imagine living that far from Target, WalMart or anything! We don't even live in "the city" and everything is within about a 5 mile radius. Ya know, I used to absolutely love Kohl's, but I don't even bother anymore. Just too frustrating to have every shirt I ever bought there fit beautifully until it gets washed and dried. That Croft and Barrow brand shrinks horribly in length and I swear, it gets wider in response. Costco will be wonderful, especially if they have the gas station. That's the only place we go for gas and it has saved us soooo much. Sure, I could hit the station right across the street, but that would cost me $3.08 a gallon! I just filled up at Costco on Wednesday at $2.959.

Suzanne, on my cooking instruction sheet, I'm seeing all kinds of references to side dishes to go with the entrees I put together. How do we get those? I don't see them listed on the website in either the May or June menu. Congrats on the success at your event yesterday! What's this about cookie kits? I want cookies tooo!!!

Morning, Lily! How's the weather up your direction? I heard on the news that your area was getting another taste of winter, but I didn't catch when. Hope it's not too bad and the :sunny: shines warm and bright for ya real soon.

LOVE the Poseiden Adventure! If I can get an evening off, Dave and I both want to go see the new one. Shelly Winters was sooooo neat in the original.

Kimmie, I'm so sorry about your kitty. Hope she never gets to the "uncomfortable" stage and just goes naturally. Good luck with the carpet, in the meantime.

Well, gotta get my hair dried and my face put on. Heading over to the CPA office to pick up some stuff to keep me busy when I'm not at the store. Managed to get most of the wash done yesterday morning, so I can play with the numbers when I get off at 8 tonight. Hoping I can earn enough on the side that I won't have to put any of my surgery on a credit card!

Have a wonderful day, everybody! :grouphug:

Bethie,

Some of the sides are made and available for sale in the store. The potato sides, corn souffle and spinach souffle. I love the corn souffle and even eat it cold-yummy stuff. Send Dave down for the sides-you'll be glad you did!

HEY! I swear I made an evening post!!!!! Grrrrrr....

Dang it Pam, I was wondering if you were smoking anything good to share :rotfl:
(j/k y'all)
um methinks that maybe you WERE sharing with Pam!!

Hey gang,

We are celebrating teacher appreciation day here with an ice cream social. Nothing like having the principal serve you a dish of ice cream!! yummy!!

I'll be back for a better ketchup later! just wanted to jump in and say hi!!

tara

:yay: for ice cream, Tara :)

I am 7 miles from town, Beth. And the only things in my little town are a couple of grocery stores (other side of town), Burger King, McDs, Subway (all other side...so about 9 miles.
Then it is out to the interstate to get to anything else. 3 miles from town to interstate ;)

The Costco I shop at now has gas. So far the prices haven't been any better than what I can get at Safeway, but I will check again on Tuesday when I go.
Thanks for the info on Kohl's. I went in one in CA and M'Cori bought a ton of clothes  I better warn her. She needed to save money and get clothes for work this summer and their prices were good for that kind of thing.
Not sure what brand she got though.

Off to the bank and groceries

I thought you said you would never smoke those cow patties again???? That once was enough for you?????? :confused3 I will now share them all with my new best-bud, Tiara!! :teeth: :lmao: Pull up a chair and strike a match, Tara!!

Pam is in a boring stage right now -- sigh..... Still waiting for the insurance claim to be settled on the boat and trailer - hey, it will ONLY be 6 weeks on Sunday. DH is still going to the chirporactor for his back - but the muscle knots are getting smaller.

Beth - DS did NOT go to the Prom! I could strangle him! He says that only steady boy/girl combos go.... which is not true! I told him he was going next year if he had to take me or hire a prostitute! He then inquired if the prostitute would be a pretty one..... He seemed to perk up with that suggestion..... :sad2: Guess he better start saving his pennies..... :rolleyes1

He just got back from the Jazz Band trip to NYC and had overall a pretty good time. LOTS of photos of TWO girls snuggling up to him - so maybe that date thing for next year's prom won't be an issue! :yay:

Trying to adapt to having a 20.5 year old DD home for the summer. :rolleyes2 I love her dearly, but I get used to being home alone during the day, well except for the dog and cat..... Running around in my underwear has now gone by the wayside. :guilty:

:grouphug: Paula! I've been thinking about you! Is there any way that you can let Chris quit school and take his GED? Some kids are just not cut out to sit in school and maybe this would be the best thing for him? Would he consider doing that and then enrolling in a technical school where it's more hands-on work??? Hope Alyssa finds a transfer solution soon.

Yay for Teacher Appreciation ice cream! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Peace out :hippie: to all my Ya Yas!

Maybe I need some of that spinich to smack both Tara and Lainey around.

Nah, I don't want to eat spinich, and I'm a coward at heart anyway ;)

We looked at SelectComfort beds yesterday and at a Simmons Beautyrest with a very plush pillowtop in a "regular" bed store.

Looks like I have decisions to make too, but not as concerned with animals getting sick on top of it. Sorry :(

Mmmm.... ice cream... I'm in one of those moods, so maybe I'll get some while I am out :teeth:
Been cleaning and other such stuff. I wanted to have most of the nasty stuff done before I showered and went to Target. I think the cold & rain together are making me very "ho humm"
Might clean in the kitchen a wee bit more before I shower.

Thanks Nancy, I didn't realize it was the same storyline. It looks interesting to me, but not sure I would want to watch any of the versions. Titanic was rough enough for me (emotionally)

Suzanne, I'd be glad to give you the rain!!!! Come and get it! And I love your analogy of the DIS... fits perfect! Though sometimes it is more like a 78 playing at 33 1/3 ;)

Thanks Beth, I actually need to be kicked in the rear to get things done. I have no idea what my problem is today. While I hate the thought of you working so much, I do hope you won't have to go in debt with your surgery.

LOL Tara, I halfway wish I were sharing with Pam :p

But Pam!!! Shhhhh.... that's our little secret there ;) Don't go spreading around what I do :p Btw, Alan, I am NOT sharing (especially with the likes of you)
Oh, and your DS is wrong. Tell him i said that too :teeth: Tons of friends go to prom together. Actually much more often than couples in my experience.

Okay all this food talk... I am making steak for supper. What kinds of sides should I make. And sorry, no baked potatos (or scalloped either... can't stand those)

Wow at the sneating. This thread was dead so I post at leisure and missed out on ice cream, teachers, prostitues, and smoking stuff.

Now there's a party going on!

Kimmar...i can't believe you didn't have some "random thoughts" to add to my random thoughts thread. After reading the picture of the day thread and some of the morons..uh I mean posters I figured you would have plenty of thoughts!!...

...you're a YA-YA, a 'scatterbrained' YA-YA, but a YA-YA none-the-less (and I wuvs ya! :rolleyes2 )...as for those OTHER RU-U-U-U-U-DE moro- errr, posters, well, they must be awfully PATHETIC if they don't see a problem with FC's pix...that guy is just too creepy and weird.....

Shame on you Kimmar! You killed the thread

Stupidly went out for a while. Bottom part of my jeans are soaked. Tried looking for skorts, though I guess what I really want are now called "scooters" I'll have to try again somewhere. I don't really like shorts on me much at all... so I go for skirts usually, but hate having to worry about bending and the like ;)

Suppose I'll try again tomorrow.

Ughh, slllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww DIS!

Kimmar, right there with you on the FC picture thingie. Heck, I deal with that behavior at home (from Neil) and come to the DIS to escape!

Suzanne

 well, unless I can get a good job this summer it looks like disney is out for this year  mom didn't get the aid we were looking for. She is going to appeal it but i don't have much hope.

its not just WDW aspect, the whole thing about being the sole provider for a family of 4 is a bit daunting. So I'm going home to sulk and see what i can sell tomorrow to at least bring in a little extra money. I think i'm going to start selling everything I have in the house. Anyone want 2 kids?? :rotfl2:

back later tonight or later in the weekned!
tara

Tara, I am so sorry  I remember how rough it was being the sole provider for just the two of us and it sucked. I hope you can find a way where you all feel comfortable sometime in the future. Hang in there...

now I need to figure out the last of supper... have a good evening all!

:( Sorry Tara. Hope things work out so you can still go.

MNSSHP tickets arrived today!! :bounce:
Finished dining today :bounce:
Got updated ressies for Jan. with rates today :bounce:
:yay:

Woo hoo! My MNSSHP tickets arrived today as well :hyper:

Had a nice supper together and got some ice cream (thanks Tara)

I hope y'all have a great night!

Tomorrow I am going with some friends to a gem and jewelry show... Luis and I haven't agreed if I will spend any money yet though :rolleyes1

hi gang,

quick hi before bed. I have my car loaded for the yard sale tomorrow. I sure hope some of this stuff sells cuz I sure as heck don't want to haul much of it home!!

Thanks for the hugs. i think I'm going to go ahead and plan my adrs in the hopes that things will work, then I'll at least have all of that ready if things work out. otherwise I just call and cancel.

Ya'll stay out of trouble tomorrow. Don't get us locked up.

tara
