HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

I called the doc on call and she said that it really sounds like I cracked a rib from coughing and told me to ice it and use the Toradol that I have at home for my back when it gets really bad. I called CVS and they said I could take the Toradol after having taken Advil so Im good to go. The ice is helping. I stupidly put heat on it first which was the wrong thing to do. She said if it is worse tomorrow to go get an Xray but it still might not show a crack anyway. I seem to find the most interesting ways to ring in the New Year lately LOL. I'm really trying to keep my sense of humor about this.

Well Im off to take some meds, get a footie rub from dh, and hit the hay. Night Night all!!! May 2005 be everything you want it to be and MORE!!!

Well it's 2:48 and I'm still up. I made the BIG mistake of allowing the kids to stay up and bring in the New Year with us. They are still both UP! I am about to spit nails. I finally started to fall asleep with the stupid pain of this rib when my eldest came running out of the bedroom and woke me right up. Now the dog has decided to hack up in the living room!!!! ARRRRRRRRRGHHHHHH!!!!! Dh is trying to sleep on the other couch so Im not alone tonight because the bed is too uncomfortable for me to get in and out of right now and he is miffed big time because he keeps getting woken up also. So much for a peaceful New Year. Sigh.........

I got a couple hours of sleep. The pain pill isn't working quite as well as I had hoped so Im up now. I will go try and lay back down in awhile. Just got up to change the ice pack. Dh finally went in and slept on the kids floor. It was the only way to assure they would go to sleep. Wild and crazy night that's for sure.

Caroline maybe a wild and crazy night of troubles means the rest of the year will go smoothly?? I hope I hope I hope LOL!!!! I just kept thinking last night that it could have been worse. This time last year I was saying Happy New Year from the CCU of a hospital....this year Im home!!! Trying to focus on the bright side of things.

Karen, I'm glad you got some sleep and hope you get some more real soon. Maybe if they're all in the same room your hubby and kids will sleep extra long. Focusing on the bright side of things is for the best though. I should take my own advice there, lol.

Nancy, hope you get some more zzz's when you get back from the airport. For me to do an airport run at 2am, it would have to be Disney-related.

Half an hour to go until I go home to sleep! Hooray!

Wandering back in. Got about another hours sleep. I will probabably nap on and off all day. I think the kids and dh will sleep in late this morning. None of them really went to sleep before 3:30 this morning, though dh got some broken sleep on the couch before that.

Gonna switch from ice to heat and see if it helps this rib to feel any better. The ice sure isn't cutting it. If it's no better this afternoon I might just go get an Xray done of it just to make sure that's what it is and that there isn't anything more I can be doing for it or something stronger I can take for the pain.

What are everyone's plans for the day?? Anything fun and exciting? Even before this rib thing we were just going to take it easy today. I will watch the parade this morning and then just relax the day away.

Nancy I hope when you get home you can get some more sleep in. Did Christin get home yet?? I have been worried about that.

Got up good and early this morning after going to bed rather early! My visit with Bethie wore me out!! We definately stayed busy!!!! It was lots of fun and I sure do miss her already!!! Bethie, come back here......besides you forgot your shampoo, conditioner and Lilo and Stitch DVD!!!!!! I suppose if you don't come to get them, I can send them back to you....but I really think you NEED to come and get them!!

Oh boy Nancy!! I love that new topper!!! Please add me to the list!!! Love the dresses too!! How pretty!!! I founds a very cute topper at our Disney Store....maybe Bethie could be so kind as to take a picture. It is a very cute new one for Valentine's Day!! I got a few.....as they had just put them out!! Nancy, I should have yours in the mail for Monday!!

Caroline, sorry you had to work last night!!! What a way to bring in the New Year......hopefully the new year will find you feeling better, finding out you got accepted to the grad school of your dreams and a better time with your family. I know those family things oh so well. Good luck with all of it!! And about your ferrets.....we don't really *know* if Pam cooks them. It is very rare that we can identify what is for dinner!!!

Suzanne, you make me jealous everytime I hear of another trip to the parks. I was just thinking how I wished I hd the courage to just get up and go!!! Greg and I have talked about this soooo many times....and then we get to the part about jobs...and well I am sure I could find something better than I have now Greg would be hardpressed to find something for him. But it seems that each year especially duruing the winter months we seem to have the let's move to Florida talk. One day it just may come to be....for now, I thnk we are stuck here in the midwest!!

Pam, how are things with you? Got Gunny on a new sleep in schedule? Sounds like you have had a nice week with your family. What fun! Hope you can enjoy what is left of your *family* time. I am sure Autumn has really enjoyed being home!!! It must be hard for her to go back to school after all this *spoiling* and good *home* cooking. Wait, maybe dorm food is better in this case!!

Kimmie, you are starting off the New Year celebrating your birthday before THE day I understand.

Nancy, Oh what a beautiful gown for the new bride. How lovely she will look. Now that the dress situation is done for the lovely young ladies, what about the mother of the groom? You have yours yet?

Caroline, every time your ferrets are mentioned and the fact that you said they are gentle things I remember the time I was working the dispatch desk at our police department one very late night after mignight. One of our tow truck drivers came in with this piece of fur hanging from his hand and blood dripping from his hand. It was a ferret that he found running around by one of the tows he had. He grabbed it so it would not get injured wandering around freely. We caged it until the owner could be located. He asked if the owner didn't come for it that he have first choice on it. He still wanted it after it took a taste of him. Egad!

Karen, gee sounds like you are getting all of your yuck stuff out of the way early this year. Here's hoping for better days soon.

Pam, sorry you were having problems with rude folks at Zoo Lights. I almost went there, but decided I wasn't feeling up to it. Think I may be working on a cold or something. Glad I didn't go.

Good morning, Ya Ya family! Got home yesterday, got the laundry going and just crashed. Had a WONDERFUL time visiting Liz and in true Ya Ya fashion, we did a lot of eating! I will post a link to some of the pix I took as soon as I can. Imagestation is being rather slow today

Nancy, the dresses are simply gorgeous! Love the plum and that wedding dress just oozes class! That bodice is fabulous!! Glad you have got some of your computer back and hope the rest comes around soon. Sorry about the early morning airport run, but glad you got to spend some time with both yer young'uns at home.

Caroline, you are really giving our ketchup queen a run for her money!! I think a trophy is in order.....

What a super Ya Ya you have become in such a short time!! Glad your cold is starting to let go and you are feeling a bit better. Just enjoying the parade this morning, maybe a movie this afternoon and out to dinner tonight. Got another sparkly for an anniversary present A sterling silver ring in the shape of a star with little diamonds along 2 sides of the star! If you want to get a good look at it, QVC item # J98220 I ain't proud! I gave him the new edition Aladdin DVD and a new Mickey Mouse T-shirt, so he is VERY happy!

Time to hit the shower, hope ya'll have a wonderful day and the new year is a healthy, happy one for every last one of you!!

Good morning.
I got a couple hours more sleep....got home from the airport about 5:45.
Hope Dave got on an earlier flight. Guess I will hear later. (just added......M'Cori called and they made it home.....Dave did get on their flight...now they just need his mother to answer the door to let him in ).

Karen, hope the ER can do something for your pain.

No dress here yet....waiting until March or so....although I have looked a little
Also need to find out the color M'Cori's mother is wearing. I don't want to "match"

Plans today are to get the decorations down and cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning. Having people here for that long and being "off" a schedule, sure made a big mess around here. But I have plenty of time and Christin will be helping some.
I did call her before we left for the airport. Her phone was off, but she called back a little later and was on her way home, so she was sleeping when I returned.

Have a great day everyone.....time for me to get busy. I want to get all this work done in the next 3 days, so I can find some play time this week
