@Snowysmom Wow, that sounds like outrageous prices for a water heater, even with the increased prices in everything these days!
Good morning. 51 now going to 82. The weather has been beautiful, and I'm not complaining except that we badly need rain.
Got my haircut done early, she didn't have anyone at 9 so she took me right in. Did my shopping and was home by 10:30.
I spent 3 hours in the afternoon and early evening trying to renew my laptops HP care pack service for a year. (extended warranty). I got an email telling me that I could renew it for another year. Tried calling the number listed, there was no option for what I needed. I tried 4 different phone numbers with the same results. Tried online chat, got an automated thing that tried connecting me with a live agent, but I gave up waiting after an hour. Found a different phone # in my account online. Ended up talking to 3 different people in sales, 1 in product registration, and 2 in Care Pack. Told by most of them that I couldn't extend it again. Two told me I could, but they couldn't get it to take the order. I finally talked to a tech support guy, who tried everything he could, and couldn't figure it out. After an hour on the phone, he finally got on a 3 way conversation with a wonderful man in Care Pack, who said there was no reason I couldn't. He took care of it in 5 minutes. He then looped in his supervisor on the conversation and we told him everything I'd been through for the last 3 hours. That guy filed a complaint and sent it to case management. I think it was only after I said I'd been a customer of HP for 40 years (true). That I have only ever bought HP (true), and paid for support with no issues, but that this would make me never buy another of their products again. I told him I would return the new HP desktop and printer I had just bought. That's when everything changed and I was suddenly given someone who could take care of the problem.
Who in their right mind buys a laptop expecting to have to buy another one after 2 years because you can't get support for any problems?
On their site it says you can buy a pack for $16.99 a month (more than $200 a year), or a one time, one problem fix for $99. No way, not when I could buy the entire year for $79.99. I will fight for what I want when I know I am in the right.
By the time I got off the phone, I was frustrated, had a headache, and hungry because I hadn't eaten all day. It was after 7 by that time.
I'm so tired of having issues with company's refusing to honor their promises, orders that take forever or get all messed up. I bought something online that said US seller, then turned out to be in China. I had to file a complaint with Paypal, because I agreed to one total, and after the fact they added sales tax that was 5x higher than it should have been. Paypal found in my favor and the seller gave me a full refund and the item is now sitting in the UK waiting to get sent here. Add to that all the issues with
Amazon taking days to ship something, and I'm going nuts.
Back to Fall cleaning today, but taking it easy, my back is still aching. I just want it done before I leave for HI.
Have a good day
