Welcome Home Bethie!!!

Just got back from the ER. VERY good news. I don't have pneumonia and instead of cracking or breaking a rib what I did was tear the muscle away very badly. Now I know that doesn't sound too good but he said though it is as painful as a break or crack it will heal faster. He gave me an RX for a pain pill and Im to rest and use ice. Of course we changed insurances and drug plans as of today so I had a problem getting the prescription which required two trips to the pharmacy!! Needless to say I got a little nasty with the person from the insurance company on the second trip.

Dh was so sweet. He knew I would miss the Rose Parade while I was at the ER so he TIVO'd it for me!!! Now I get to see it while Im laying down. Me thinks that's where I will go right now.

Beth, Yay for your anniversary presents! Yup, I think Caroline is going to be the queen of ketchup for sure. I think it only fair thay you and Liz meet up and she bring your stuff. Maybe you can meet her in Hawaii, isn't that a place she is going soon?

Nancy, no new 'puter and satellite hook up in your futuer? I think you are a good girl and deserve at least that!

DH came home from work so we just finished with our afternoon dinner. We had pork roast, sour kraut, scalloped potatoes, home made apple sauce. Dishes cleaned, some in the dishwasher and clothes in the wash.

Oh, and I didn't get to the tree yet, yawn. Been working on a puzzle with my mother. We usually do one over the holidays. Well this year we both bought one so we finished puzzle #1 and are working on puzzle #2. It is the only time we puzzle--over the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Happy first afternoon of 2005, everyone!

I'm up and almost getting ready to go back to work. Since tonight is officially my shift on the 1st, I can get 12 hours at double time and a half. Makes up for not being able to do anything fun for the new year. No one even really noticed when the clock ticked over last night (although I did email my honey at 12:01).

I got a ketchup trophy! That's a good thing, right? I was trying to explain to Scott what the significance of the ketchup bottle was in Beth's post. I think he thinks we're a bit strange.

Well, I better prove myself worthy to wield the sacred Heinz.

Karen, sorry you weren't able to sleep better. I'm glad you went to the hospital to get it checked out. I'm happy you don't have a cracked rib, but a ripped muscle still sounds pretty nasty. You take care of yourself and get to feeling better soon.

Liz, glad you and Beth had a great time! This is the 3rd NYE I've worked now. I seem to keep getting the short-end of the NY schedule. But I had Christmas off this year, and I'm racking up OT so I'm pretty happy.

Lily, I can assure you my ferrets don't break skin! Actually based on what you said, it sounds like he may have picked up a stoat. Last year, something similar happened at the ferret shelter near here - they found someone breeding stoats in the area. They're cute as the dickins and a bit smaller than ferrets, but man oh man do they bite. Ferrets can't survive in the wild for more than a day or so. Although if it had an owner to locate, maybe it was just an ornery little cuss. It was nice of the driver to keep it from being hurt, either way. Your dinner sounds so yummy! Any leftovers?

Beth, glad you and Liz had a great time! Thank you for the trophy too! That made me laugh so hard. Sorry to hear you're a member of the dysfunctional family club too. It stinks that anyone has to deal with that. Sounds like you got some good loot for your anniversary! I'll have to go check that ring out.

Nancy, glad you got a bit more sleep. Sounds like you need the energy to clean up after everyone! Hope it's not too big a job.

Ahhhhhh I just took a nice long hot bath with all the stuff my dh got me at B&BW the other day and I feel GLORIOUS!!!! The kids left me alone and let me soak. I smell so pretty and I feel a little better. The heat helped that muscle some. What a nice nice nice treat. I feel so relaxed right now.

Caroline you are the queen of Ketchups m'dear!!! I'm glad you are getting wicked good OT for today. Im sorry you had to work last night though. I know you would have much rather been home with your honey.

Lily your dinner sounds wonderful!!! Sounds like you and mom had a really good day and that's what counts. You need you time. The other stuff will happen in time. Sometimes you just have to take time for you and do something you like to do.

Oooooooo Beth what a PRETTY SPARKLEY!!!! I just took a look at it. It's LOVELY!!! Dave did a good job!!! I'm glad you are enjoying your anniversary. I am so glad that you and Liz had such a wonderful time together. I do think you are right though she needs to come and bring you your stuff hehehehehehehehehe.

Well Im gonna get dh to start din din. Im getting hungry after that nice relaxing bath. Gonna go spend a little time with the kids. They have been quietly playing in their room so mom could relax and sleep.

Speaking of old age...Karen's baths sounds GREAT. Just had my first snowboard lesson...OMG. I am aching in parts I didn't know I had! Pammy, I'm comin' to join ya at the Senior Center! Save a chair for me at bingo!

Well I am sooooo not the queen of ketchup......my specialty is small packet ketchup.....so Im not going to even try.
Karen--sorry your are still hurting but glad its something that will heal quicker than a break.

Caroline--double time and half--wooohooo! That could lead to some serious shopping after payday.
Liz--the 3 older ones were at my x's for new years. Connor fell asleep by 10 and Evan and I went to sleep about 11.....dh was on the puter and pretty sure he didnt make it to 12 either. Even for the bigger New Year 1999/2000 I was asleep. Of course it had a lot to do with me being 7 months pg at the time.

One pooped Yaya checking in. All decorations are put away. That was a 10-5 job!! I think I have too many decorations Good thing Christin helped!!
No cleaning done......and of course things look as bad as bad can be as we tossed things here and there. So....tomorrow and Monday is cleaning and putting things back where they belong.

Karen, glad to hear that the healing will be faster than it could have been.

Kimmie.....I was wondering if I should say anything. I think the same birthday wishes happened this time last year And you did get them in Nov. too Lucky you......you should tell Tom you need more presents

Lily....no new computer in my future (unless this one is completely unfixable)...not really needed. This one is as fast as I can get on dial-up and has loads of storage....especailly now All the problems now are with added software...except the speakers. That one has everyone stumped.

Jeannie.....Hummm...what kind of dress did your mother wear to your wedding? I am always looking for ideas. I found (online....and I am not going to do that) one I really like. I think I know the style, just need to get out and do some real looking.

Tree is put away. A few things left to be put in boxes and that will occur tomorrow. DH and I just finished watching When Harry Met Sally. We have never seen it before. It was fun!
