Sorry I have been MIA for a while. Real life just seems to get in the way sometimes I guess. Lots going on in my life....here are a few things that I have to share:

I had a great job interview a few weeks ago. It was 4.5 hours long. The last hour and a half was spent with the director. I should be hearing something about this in the next couple of weeks as there are still 2 more candidates to interview. I amhoping this is the one. The inteveiw went very well, the job sounds like it would be something I would love and the the pay and benefits are awesome....so please keep your fingers crossed.

I am back from Vegas and it was a good trip. Lots to share about this. My dad paid for all of us to go (siblings and spouses) and as expected, Greg did not go due to work and not being able to get the time off. I really don't think we will ever really be able to plan a vacation that we can actually for sure take. Anyway,m I went alone and that was OK. I spent a lot of time with my dad, as I found out just before we all left for Vegas that he has colon cancer. He is seeing a specialist tomorrow who willbe able to better tell us where he is at in all of this. So, it was nice to think that me and dad could really enjoy the company of one another. I also ended up coming home with $115 more than I left with, so I was VERY happy.

I was able to spend a little time with all of my siblings as well. Most of the time a couple of them were rarely sober...but it is that quality time that counts right? Now I know why my family does not like Disney as much as me.........there ae no free drinks!!! LOL!! Anyways, it was a good time to share some fun with my family. Glad to be home though....I missed Greg terribly.

Came home from Vegas sick. Have that wonderful sore throat, runny nose and pounding head. I am thiniking I may have a bit of strep. It seems to be a favorite illness I pick up when I am overtired. I am WAAAAAYYYY over tired. But the good news is, the ankle seemed to hadle a lot of walking very well. The blisters I got on my toes hurt more than anything. I need to figure out how to stop that from happening and I will be a very happy girl. I tried moleskin, maybe too late...and it was to no avail. But on a happy note the ankle was very happy with all of the walking. And I didn't even take my arthritis medicine. Yeah!! Kristy, hope your ankle feels better too!!

So that is the big news here. Not much to tell, but lots going on. Please think some happy thoughts for me about that job. I am hoping they will be making a decision in the very near future. I am going to call in the morning to see what is going on.

Back to bed for me....more a bit later. Hope you are all feeling better and know that I think of you all often!!

Mad, mad, love to all!!

 puckerup: :grouphug:

LIZ it's so great to "see" you!!!!!!!!!!! Hope your cold/sinus/ickies go away soon. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you on the job.

Now for all the rest of you sickies...line up...it's time to Lysol you down. I do NOT want to be sick any time soon :p

ICK...Nancy saw The Grudge. I wouldn't be able to sleep for a week if I watched it. I'm waiting for The Incredibles and Polar Express to be released...those are movies at my speed :)

Elaine.......BUY A DYSON!!! I LOVE it. You should have seen all the cat hair it pulled out of the carpet..OMG...and the carpet looked CLEAN before I vacuumed..you can only imagine what it looks like now. So....buy a Dyson!!

Kimmar....why can't the webmasters reset your password so that you can log into it from home??

Hugs and smooches to the ones that I missed. Off to play more before I have to leave for class.

Well.....I want to see those too :teeth: I like lots of kinds of movies ::yes::

Welcome home, Liz.
Sorry about your father.....been there :(
Feel better soon.

Hi everyone! I sort of forgot to say that I don't think I will be on during the evenings as much for a little while. Nothing major, but just tired of some things at home and taking care of it :)

Kimmar, I take it you have tossed your cookies more than once at home? THe other thing is you can download a Mozilla browser (like Netscape) for free and log on there with Kimmar. I have two browsers loaded on my laptop so I can switch *ahem* when needed ;)

Nancy, is it mine? :hyper: Heck if I know, but I like to think he is watched often by many :p

Welcome back Liz! Good luck with the job!!! Sorry you aren't feeling well though. But if you have strep (and trust me I am *not* the first to say this) I'd go to the doc and get some meds... it can be serious if left be. Take care of yourself

Kristy, right now our Hoover is just about 4 years old. I read reviews and I can't justify getting one yet... the only thing rated better than the Hoover was an attachment, and I can't justify $400-500 for that :o Now if ours broke........ ;)

Should get back to work. Catch y'all later :)

Hi there, Ya Ya family!! Missed ya'll this weekend, but it was sure nice to have some quality time with my hunny. He is soooooo good to me!! But, I'm payin' for playin', now. Add me to the list of sickies  My voice started to go the night before we left and now....well, very few people have recognized me on the phone today. Got the head congestion and my ears are ringing something fierce! I've had tintinnitis all my life, but every once in awhile, I wonder who ordered the strings and whistles concert!! Today is one of those days--it's sounding almost like sirens!

Soooooooo very, very glad to see that Kristy dropped back in and ya'll have convinced her to join the exchange. Your Dyson sounds like it was certainly worth the money, Kristy! I'd be tempted if we hadn't just gotten a new vacumn last spring. Oh and you had better not put me on the tutor list for Spanish--now if it was French, maybe....

And Karen too!! Good to see ya, sweetie! I was getting rather worried about you! Sorry you had a bit of a scare with the dog. They can be just as finicky as cats sometimes and will drive ya right up the wall!

Ya'll enjoy your scary movies! I think the Haunted Mansion movie was about as scary as I can handle! Nancy, your Lily looks so adorable in her DL Mousecateer outfit! Count me in on looking forward to seeing the pictures of your blooming bulbs in the spring!

Oh Lily, where do you get the energy to do all that working out and walking? I can't believe you went and played at the gym AFTER that big long walk! I think I'd have been crawling to that hot tub. Loved your inspirational pictures, though!

Laine, sorry to hear RL and getting things done are going to be cutting into your DIS time. But if it means we can have your undivided attention for a week in December--so be it! Don't wear yourself out, now!

Sherry, I'm so glad to hear you got off lightly at the eye dr. last week! I know you were just dreading the outcome! Hope you are feeling better soon, too. It seems like the flu just might be listening and knows we didn't get our shots and are vulnerable!!

I think that's about all I can manage right now. Going to go get some hot tea and honey and try to quiet this cough. Ughhhhhhhh. I hope to get back to finish this ketchup later! :grouphug:

I've been in a rat snot mood all day. Can someone tell me a joke please?? I need a giggle tonight.

Bethie, I hope you feel better soon  Glad you enjoyed your weekend with Dave though :) Oh don't worry about me, I won't be wearing myself out with this. It is just going to take a while for me to get things where I want them.

Karen... bad with jokes, but here you go...

Three men walked into a bar. *OUCH!!!!!*

yep, very very bad

Off to do work in the kitchen I think.

Oh ELAINE!!!! That was soooooooo bad but it worked it made me laugh.

Beth  Feel better soon.
All you sickies stay away from me.....almost time to leave! :hyper:

Karen sorry you are in a bad mood. I'm bad at jokes, but I will look in my files for something ;)

Sorry Elaine.....not your guy...this time. It was a recently released movie ;)

Okay...since I like to bake cookies ....and have cats ;)

BAKING COOKIES WITH YOUR CAT

Look in cookbook for cookie recipe.
Get cup of coffee.
Get cat off of cookbook.
Find that special recipe.
Get cat's nose out of coffee mug.
Go to fridge and get eggs.
Get dry ingredients from cupboard.
Break eggs in small bowl.
Sift dry ingredients in large bowl.
Answer the phone.
Cat ate eggs; get more from fridge.
Get cat out of flour bowl and dust cat off.
Get Band-Aids for scratches on hands.
Throw flour out and get more.
Preheat oven for cookies.
Looking at cat & wanting to bake cat now.
Cat runs for cover into bathroom.
Flour the counter to roll out cookie dough.
Big crash in bathroom; run to see what happened.
Cat has TP all over floor; stuff spilled and
knocked over on top of bathroom counter.
Yell at cat. Cat falls in toilet bowl.
Can sense cat is angry.
Take cat out of toilet to dry cat off.
Get bandages to cover more scratches on arms and legs.
Cleanup bathroom.
Hear a thump in kitchen ... Oh Golly ... now what?
Get cat off floured counter in kitchen.
Try to pick out cat hairs from flour.
Step on cat's tail and get bitten.
Get coat, car keys, and go to store to buy cookies

Glad it worked, Karen. It might make you laugh more, to know I had to actually "act" that one out for a friend of mine who didn't get it. The other version of that one is:
Three men walked in to a bar
The forth man ducked :p

I happen to like the first better ;)

Nancy, that cat post :rotfl:

New release? On DVD, I would presume. Crud the only new release that I was aware of was The Day After Tomorrow. I stupidly forgot to get it :( That and Aladdin. Any hints ;)

I just realized that the more I clean, the more ticked off I am getting. I know it is supposed to be my responsibility to do it all, but my goodness, I can't keep up with him. Just as soon as I clean one room, the next is awful. And if I remind him, I'm nagging. Just cannot win! I'll try though. If I am lucky he'll stay on his computer more ;)

Except for things I want to hand wash, kitchen is taken care of... not sure I am in the mood to do the bathroom... srubbing tubs isn't fun. Meh...

ROFL Nancy that is too funny!!!! I have a cat and can relate!!!

Elaine I liked both of yours. Too funny!!!

If I could get the kids in bed and relax a little Im sure I could get over this mood much easier. Just lots went on both this weekend with church and today with trying to decide on an insurance company to go with for dh's work( we have to consider eldest's ds's growth hormone meds) and also my life insurance has been stalled again and they owe me booku bucks which we could use right now. I was also told today that I was STUPID for deciding to take my own car to the Barry Manilow concert my office manager bought us all tickets to on Thursday. I have kids for pete sake what if something happens and dh needs me? I have to drag all of them out of the concert to take me home?? UGH. It just really hurt to be called stupid. Hence the rat snot mood.

Ya'll are helping out a lot though!!!

Beth and Sherry and Amanda Im so sorry you all are sick. I will be saying prayers that you all get well very very soon. Something is going around in our area too and I have been the Lysol Queen at my office. Heck I would spray the patients down too if I didnt think I would lose my job ROFL!!!

Hi all!
JRKaren, glad you are having fun. Great to hear from ya.

Karen, stupid huh? Well thell them like I do. At least I know I am stupid/crazy or whatever the word of the day. I feel for ya'all when you figgur yours out.
Don't give them the chance to have that control. We will cheeto patrol them. Hmmm a Barry Manilow cheeto patrol. I am in on this one!

Elaine, I know your pain when cleaning there. I have totally given up on trying to get "them" to understand how it is with me. I just get in the trenches and sing my way through. They think I'm crazy too.
Hey this is a trend! EEEeeekkk maybe I am.

Nancy, loved your cat story. Here I was getting ready for some cute recipe for like Halloween cookies or something!

Bethie, great ketchup. Feel better.

Liz, glad you managed to come back with money! Why that is just unheard of when I go. I give everything I have brought and won too. Sorry about your Dad. Maybe it won't be too bad. PD for him and you for the job.

Kimmar, :scratchin :badpc: :rolleyes1

g'nite all.

JRKaren, glad you are having fun!

Karen, I hate being called stupid too... don't blame you for the mood. Hope your mood lifts soon.

Lily, I could go into a huge rant about how Luis "learned" things at his house, but that would probably tick me off further and I would rather go to bed! ;)

Speaking of which... my bed is calling me, and I haven't read a thing for myself today. See y'all later :)

Welcome to the world of men, Elaine. I gave up years ago and just clean around him ;)
Cleaning is never ending and if you don't keep up on it, it can get away from you :( Same with laundry

Okay...Elaine. I will tell you. Van Helsing ;)
I do have Day After Tomorrow. What a bad movie.....in a good way ;) Does someone have Dennis Quaid for a cabana man?

Glad you are having fun JRKaren.

If anyone wants anything from DL.....let me know.
They do have those cute ear outfits, like Lily is wearing ;)
But I think a lot of us already have them :teeth:

I'll go look for some more cute stories.

One of my favorites....reminds me of the Bill Cosby Chocolate Cake routine :teeth:

Chocolate is a Vegetable

Chocolate is a vegetable: Chocolate is derived from
cocoa beans. Beans = vegetable. Sugar is derived
from either sugar CANE or sugar BEETS. Both are
plants, which places them in the vegetable category.
Thus, chocolate is a vegetable. To go one step
further, chocolate candy bars also contain milk,
which is dairy. So candy bars are a health food.

Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices
and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many
as you want.

If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands,
you're eating it too slowly.

The problem: how to get 2 pounds of chocolate home
from the store in a hot car. The solution: eat it
in the parking lot.

Diet tip: eat a chocolate bar before each meal.
It'll take the edge off your appetite, and you'll
eat less.

If I eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white
chocolate, is that a balanced diet? Don't they
actually counteract each other?

Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives
make you look younger.

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of
things to do today. That way, at least you'll get
one thing done.

A nice box of chocolates can provide your total
daily intake of calories in one place. Now, isn't
that handy?

If not for chocolate, there would be no need for
control top pantyhose. An entire garment industry
would be devastated. You can't let that happen, can
you?

REMEMBER: "Stressed" spelled backwards is
"desserts."

Good Morning!

Just a quick post to say hi. Julian goes to the dentist to get his chipped tooth fixed this morning. Not sure yet if he'll go to school after. Guess it depends on how his mouth/tooth feels.

I'm feeling a bit more human today. Thank goodness. I have alot of stuff to do this week.

Hope all the other icky feeling Ya Ya's start feeling better soon.

Gotta go blowdry my hair and start waking the boys. Since Julian doesn't have to get up early to ride the bus, I'm letting the 2 older boys sleep in a bit. :teeth:

LOL, Nancy, that one is too cute!!!

Yep, cleaning can definitely get away from you. I really wish there were more hours in a day to get it all done :)
Ahhh... Van Helsing... totally forgot about that one (don't shoot me Kimmar) as I had nodesire to see it. I do agree, Day After... was such a bad movie it was good. I couldn't believe how much I actually enjoyed it!

Sherry, good luck to Julian at the dentist today. I hope he won't feel to awful after. And I am so glad you are feeilng more human today yourself :)

Nancy...Todd doesn't need any more reasons to eat chocolate.

Sherry...Glad you are feeling better. Hope all goes well at the dentist today.

Elaine...Understand cleaning. My house is always straightened up, just not deeply cleaned. It needs it. When I have the time, I don't because it is my only 'free' time and I want to enjoy it. I may clean something this week. I am fortunate that Todd helps. He is a pack-rat, but a neat one.

Liz...Glad to see you back. I will keep your Dad in my prayers.

Scary Movies, not me. I don't even like movies that are physically or verbally violant/abusive. I stay with Disney or Romance. At home I only watch TLC for the most part. I can't even take the news.:(

Ride sharing, also not me. I can have major mood swings, it is best if I have a way to leave before I say/do something I will regret.

Still not feeling well. Have my tea, tissues, Halls and just took some Dayquil. Hopefully this will get me through the work day.

Good day everyone!
