And what fun it was!! Well, actually I guess it really wasn't a day of doing nothing, now that I think about it.....got up early and Greg and I both got new hair doos! I got a lovely colr and cut, he got a cut and an eyebrow trim......What is is with guys and long eyebrows? We came home and chilled out for a bit, complete with naps, then got a call from his brother asking us if we were going to watch the girls dance. Nothing like waiting til the last minute huh? SO off we went. I really did not want to go after the the stuff that has gone on over the past few weeks....but Greg said please, I said yes.....and I have to admit, I can say I am glad we went. They seemed very happy to see us there. And of course they are just too cute!! Ask Beth, she will tell you!! Anyway, after that we came home with a pizza for Greg and a yummy salad for me. Watched some TV and that was the evening!! So nice to just veg with Greg.

Caroline, I need to tell you......BRING YOUR OWN CHOCLATE IF YOU COME HERE FOR SCHOOL!!! And lots of it!! You guys have WAY better chocolate than we do. We (Americans) leave out a VERY important ingredient in our choclate...cocoa mass I believe.....most English chocolate and I believe Canadian choclates use this ingredient.......so yummy!!!! Also, I got my bath bomb from LUSH. You ahve those in your area don't you? We don't have them here....another thing that I got from someone from England. I can only order it off line....but I think mine comes from Canada....try it!! You will like it!!! And if you like a wonderfull sweet, vanillasmelling soap, I reccomend RockStar....It is PINK but it smells sooooo good!!! And you my friend NEED to keep the letchup trophy!!! You are quite deserving!!! Keep up the good work!!! Quick question....how dod you find the YaYa's? Always nice to know how people come to find this great place!!!

Karen, glad to hear things are going well for you. Not sure if Basin bath bomb will turn you pink or not....try it and let us know!!!

Lainey, glad to hear your happy news too!! Sounds like you had a busy day!!! What are your plans for tomorrow!! Good luck on the solo. I am sure it will be great!!

Sherry, we woke up to a couple of inches or snow here too....Wasn't in teh forcast anywhere.....not sure where it came from....but it was fun pelting Greg with a nice big snowball today. Lucky for me, ha has horrible aim!!

OK, I am going to get this right........

Kimmar, I have a GOH badge that says LIZ......I could send it if you can't get the one you want!! Nothing like trying to be helpful huh? And you know how I am with names :earboy2: (I have a Greg one, if you would like it too!) :earboy2:

Kama is in Cali in the closet.... :earseek: Hope you had fun playing!!! Does your hubby know about this?

JRKaren, very cool story!! You meet all the cool people.....like me!!!!! Lion King is coming here again....might have to get some tickets if I can talk Greg into it!!! That was such a great show!!

TC, should you ever feel that you need to adopt another DD.....let me volunteer myself!! I bet you must be so excited about your upcomming trip....especially if you ground looks anything like ours!!! This ice is making me crazy!! Be careful out there!!!

Nancy, I forgot to tell you that Lily looks too cute!!!!!Keeping good thoughts for your "other" little girl too!! Hope she hears some good news!!! Sounds like a great job for her. I am looking forward to getting the papers tomorrow to see what I can find. I may have anohter networking opportunity at another hospital. That would be so nice. So, I will keep you informed with all of that!!! Why you going to the airport? Picking up Dave? Safe travels!!!

Bethie, WOW, what a ketchup there!!!! You can have my trophy for that one!! Good to see you were being a bum all day too!! I am in good company......but I really didn't do much of anything...at least you got soem stuff done. I just got the bed stripped, sheets washed and then made the bed and crawled right in!!! Of course, Greg and Barkley were soon to follow.....and I now have designer sheets.......they are pawfully delightful!!! :badpc: 2 somebodies are in BIG trouble!!!! When will Greg learn to wipe Barkley's paws after taking him for a walk on the wet pavement? It is a never ending battle!!

Todd, can't believe you didn't leave the lights up!!! I think I would have!! Actually, come to think of it, I think we have three strings of lights in a tree in our frontyard......they have been there for about four years. Maybe Greg will take them out....someday......maybe on the same day he remembers to wipe off Barko's paws!!!

Amanda, feeling better? Did ya hear that Todd has fun with me and Beth? When can we all get together again? You don't even HAVE to bring cookies!!! But yes, I do love your cookies!!! They are the best!!!

Pam, how do you even manage to get out of bed to your computer with those sheets? I love sheets with a huge thread count. Maybe Greg needs some for his upcomming birthday....just what every guy wnats and cares about huh? I swear he could sleep on a matteress pad and not even realize the sheets are missing!! Good thing those men folk are trainable!!!!! :cool1: What did you do with my cape? How can I be a caped crusader with no cape? Huh? Well?!!!!

SSB, so good to hear that you are doing so well. Hope to hear moregreat progress...and next time you are meandering through the parks....keep your eyes open for some new toppers!! No sense in wandering aimlessly around the parks without a mission....right?

Suzanne, when are you headed in for surgery? I have some extra crayons and coloring books I could send ya.....lots of people kept me VERY entertained while I was laid up!! Wait, I think you were one of those people!!! Sorry about the kidlets friends moving! That is a bummer!! Good news about the house though. Are there lots of kids in your new neighborhood? Won't be long now!!

Tara, how are all the critters in or near your house? How is the diet going? SO far, so good here. It has been 6 days here for me......and I have to say it is going pretty well. Greg ate his pizza all by his lonesome.....and I was very satisfied with my salad. Of course, I make a great garbage salad and put all kinds of yummies in it!!!! Thought about having a lo carb fudge bar....but decided to have some sugar free jello instead. I think thoughts of Hawaii in a bathing suit are helping...A LOT!!! I am going to weigh in Monday. I will let you know then how it is going.

Lily, I know you are at teh happiest place on earth....but I wanted to wish you the best in your 1/2 marathon!! :cheer2: :cheer2: You go girl!!!! Can't wiat to hear all about it!!

RM, hope your day went as well as it could. I am sure it was a tuff one for you. I am remembering your family in my thoughts and prayers. Can't wait to get that call one day!! It will be nice to put a voice with a name.....and of course a face that I have seen pictures of!! Funny thing is....once I hear you...I will read your posts in your voice!! Does anybody else do that? I especially do it with JRKaren...but that is just because she pahks hea cah in havahd yahd.

Deena, what trouble have to managed to get yourself into this weekend? And if you tellme nothing...I won't believe you anyway!!! Do tell the detail too, cause you know I LOVE a good comedy with a little drama for fun!!!

Alan, I am sure you have fond yourself some trouble too.....You are always too quiet on the weekend.....a sure sign of trouble!!!

Tina, hope all is well!! Been thinking about you and hoping you are alright!

Well, it has taken me about an hour to get all this out......so I am going to head off to la la land!! I am about 200 thread counts shy of Pam....so I am just going to have to dream about 600........or some other weird dream....I seem to be having some really doosies lately!!!

Kristy, what is new with you? What are your plans for the weekend...and where are those new pics?

Mad, mad, mad  to you all!!

Hi Sneaters!!! You read my mind!!! Feel better Suzanne!!!!! Too cute pics Kristy!!!!

Ashley.......

And then Princess Not So Satanlike Anymore.......who is really turning out to be quite a nice little girl (yes, I really did say that)!

f58cbd33.jpg

These were taken at the Bull's game while Beth was here....but they were just as cute today!!!

 Not even going to try to compete to those posts....long ones. Todd, do you read them? ;)

Good luck job hunting, Liz. Christin tried calling today, but no answer, so I guess those people are out until Monday. Waiting is so hard.
Yep...airport run was for Dave. He is home after spending a week with his mother and brother....and glad to be back.

I love Tanzanite too!! Got my first piece about 10 years ago. Think I have 3 rings and some earrings now. Christin has already claimed them in the will :) She has 3 or 4 of her own....all rings.

You guys have me looking at all my crockpot recipes again. Anyone tried them for recipes for one?

Can't wait to met Sasha, Kristy :) I saw in the flyer sent out that there is a BaB heart shaped box of "chocolates". Gotta get that if the store has it next time I go.

Liz, there is a Lush store in San Francisco :) And See's too :teeth: Maybe that cousin (was that it) will hook you up...or you need to pay a visit.

Okay....off to read my book. It's getting to the good part at the end.

Nancy, PLEASE don't tell me things like this!!!!! Yes, it is my cousin....but thank goodness he would never be so kind to go out and get me some Lush stuff and See's. Greg is now totally hooked on See's too!! I think I may need to get him a box of truffles for his birthday.....he has hinted a few times about that now.........see what you started!!!! I sure hope he HIDES his See's when he gets it!!! :D Enjoy your book!! Glad you got your hubby and you are both home safely!!

Im up. Having some choco ice cream for a very sore mouth. Happens every time I take high doses of these meds. Oh well it will go away too.

Kristy I love love love love love the pictures of Dakota!!!! OMG they are so adorable!!!!

Nancy they do have little teeny weenie crockpots so I am sure they have recipies for just one or two people for them or you could cut a big recipie in half or something and cook it not as long or as hot.

Kristy I actually did the shopping and didnt clip coupons at all. I had a list of stuff that I needed and made very very sure to stick to the list and got the least expensive of everything on that list with the exception of the meat. I will not buy cheap cuts or off brands on that. Too afraid to LOL. I did buy a couple of things not on the list because I discovered I needed them after we got there and I wanted to treat the kids and myself to ice cream but I did get the publix behemuth container of ice cream which runs less than a gallon of the other stuff. Tastes just as good to me.

Liz I will remember about the LUSH bath bombs. I don't think we have a store like that here so I think Im safe LOL. I will try one of the ones from Basin in DTD the next time we are there and see if I like them. They looked harmless enough LOL!!!

Suzanne my prayers are with you on your surgery. I am so glad you were finally able to get that all set up. Sounds like your house is coming right along and that you will have a great neighborhood to live in. YEA!!! Im sorry your little one got sick before dinner. Poor guy....poor you!

Well Im gonna try and get back to sleep. Wish me luck.

It's the middle of the night (well, it is here). Do you know where your Ya Yas are? :earboy2:

I'm getting myself 'turned around' for night shifts tomorrow night, so Scott and I are still up. Getting awfully sleepy though, so I may be tapping out soon. Can't go to bed too 'early' though, otherwise we won't sleep well tomorrow and then tomorrow night it'll just be all bad. Forgive me if I spill some of the ketchup in my sleepy state.

Sherry, next time we're 'down south' I will try some of the fancied-up Dr Pepper. If it's mainly cherry flavor, I think I might like it. I really hated vanilla coke. :crazy2:

Kimmar, hope your DH had a great birthday!

Pam, sounds like you're really into overstock.com. I figure I probably wouldn't save anything through them, with exchange and duty, but it's fun to look at the site anyway. 600 count sheets really do sound amazing (I'm finicky about my sheets - no rough spots and no scratchy threads!).

Nancy, can I ask what the problem was with overstock? (without setting your DH's head alight  )

SSB, sounds like you had a great time with the kids. Glad you're getting to have some fun while you recover.

Beth, Sounds like you did an awful lot for a 'slow day'! I'll see what I can do about getting some cold air down to VA for ya. We had a dusting of snow today and really, you're welcome to it. I'm with Nancy on this one - bring on spring! I have a bad knee too (riding accident years ago) so if WatP works for you without aggravating your arthritis I may well look into it. A knee with a mind of its own is definitely a hinderance with the step exercises (even though I like them).

Karen, I'm totally impressed by your crock-potting! If I ever get one, I'll have to come to you for lessons. :teeth: I'm glad you're having a great week, illness aside. I definitely hope it continues for you. Hope you're getting some sleep now, too.

JRKaren, what a nice thing to happen with the drummer! It's so great that they'd be that welcoming to people.

Kimmie, 80's nightmare in your closet puts all kinds of silly images in my head. I'm going to blame sleep deprivation for that, heh. I am also going to resolve to get those pictures developed this week. I must convince myself it's not going to get less expensive if we wait until later.

Elaine, we just bought a digital camera in November for the very reason that we had a year's worth of sad little film rolls sitting in a bag, waiting to go be developed. Digital pictures are sooooooo much easier. I love that camera! Hope your busy weekend is going well.

Kristy, I have the option to either go back to what I used to do (working with on-camera people instead of forecasting) or moving to a new desk that does highly localized forecasts for commercial clients. I didn't think I'd like the second job but it's starting to look more interesting, particularly because part of the reason I'd like to move is because I'm a bit bored, and I don't know that going back to what I used to do would help that. Anyway, we'll see what happens. Those are *adorable* baby pictures! I love the 'toe holding' one. So cute!

Suzanne, sorry you had a rough day. Hope tomorrow is a lot better for you.

Hi Deena, TC and Rose Mary!

Liz, I've made a note about the chocolate and told Scott. He's on board. :teeth: We do have Lush here (there's one about a 10 minute walk from my place - danger!), and I love that store. I use their Re-Incarnate bar shampoo all the time, and Honey I Washed the Kids soap. It has honey (obviously) and smells like toffee. It really is hard not to chomp on it. :teeth: I've tried one of their bath bombs .. it was a honey one too .. can't remember the name. It didn't have much color in it though, so I didn't have any problems.

Long story ahead - How did I find the Ya Yas? Well, I stalked JRKaren at Epcot, of course! Isn't that how everyone gets here? LOL! Actually what happened was when we were in WDW in December I was on the lookout for DIS 'identifiers' - mostly lime green. Just by fluke, Scott and I ended up in a car with JRKaren on the monorail to Epcot. I noticed a green button she had on her bag, and wondered if it was DIS related. Didn't get a good look at it until we were leaving the car, and then I was too shy to go up to her and say Hi. I figured I'd be able to before we went through the turnstiles but she picked a better 'lane' than we did and I lost her in the crowd inside. When I got home, I pm'd her, since I figured she might want to know her button was effective (even if it was not enough to persuade goofy me not to be shy! heehee). I was acquainted with Nancy through some exchanges and mentioned it to her as well, since I had tracked down JRK by searching and finding her in the Ya Ya thread, and saw Nancy there too. She encouraged me to pop my head in here (or a similar thread) if I was interested in getting to know DIS people better. I read through a lot of posts and Ya Yas seemed like the friendliest, funnest group out there, hands down. So I posted a hello and it turned out you were friendlier, funnier and more welcoming than I even had expected. And that's how y'all got stuck with me. ;)

Right, after that ramble, I'm sure you can tell I need sleep! Have a great Sunday, everyone.

Good morning, gang! Boards are finally working!

Caroline is stalking me? Yikes.

Kristy, Dakota is just too precious. I love the one of her holding her feet. Too cute.

Suzanne, sending good thoughts out for the surgery.

That's all for now.

Hrrm.... aren't those on cars? Oh, you mean that they SELL them there? SWEAR, SSB has never notice one once, ever... haha! Promise to try to look around a bit more next time.

Was good seeing some rascals in SNC last night. Had been ages since SSB had been there for that long.

Hope that everyone is having a GREAT Sunday! I am still stranded, as can't drive... so gonna' miss my class and church today... will not seem like Sunday.. haha!

Best to all.

Hey, SSB! Morning! Sorry you can't make it to Church today. :guilty: I'm not going as well - I kind of goofed off a little too much and didn't pay attention to the clock.

Kristy - this is the first time I've ever bought sheets based on thread count! I always got the cheapest ones, too! Then I started reading the posts on the DIS about the higher the thread count, the softer the sheets - so I splurged! They are sooooooo soft and comfy, it's positively decadent! :cloud9:

Nancy - :wizard: to Christin for when she makes the call to the Science Center tomorrow. What is her college degree in, btw?

Liz - I think every man wants sheets for his birthday! ;)

Good morning.

Caroline...we are glad you decided to poke your head in and join us :)

Karen....I want to use my crockpot (have 2), so don't want to buy a new onw. I will just play with the recipes. Dave will be able to eat some but not many.

Pam....Christin has a BS in Science....and has coached and tutored children...so this job would really be perfect for her.

:wave2: JRKaren and SSB....and everyone else.

Morning/Afternoon all! I slept till 11:20, so obviously no church for us either.
Glad everyone is enjoying the Dakota pics :teeth:
Liz the girls are SO cute in their dance outfits. Looks like they have the routine down pat. LOL tell Greg to lock the See's candy in his nightstand so that you won't be tempted by it. If there's chocolate in this house I'm going to eat it
Karen you have a pm on the way for recipes and such :) I still don't know how you got all the groceries for 80.00, no way I could do that here. Heck just our lunch meat for the week is 14.00.
Nancy I didn't see the "chocolates box" at BAB yesterday, but then again I rarely notice the little accessories they have. None of my kids keep their accessories on once they get home, so I stopped buying them. I did however see the most adorable Love Bug outfit!! Lily would look smashing in it! re: the crockpot. I've never tried recipes for 1. Most of the time I may large versions of the recipes, so that we have plenty of leftovers for the week.
Caroline that new position sounds really interesting. I've never heard of corporations have their own meteorologists(sp?). That's so cool that you found JRKaren by her green pin. Glad that you have joined our little family now.
Pam I'm going to have to splurge one day and buy a higher thread count set of sheets. Although as it is I hate getting out of bed. What will it be like once I have even comfier sheets? :earseek:
Suzanne sorry to hear that Kevin was sick last night. Your subdivision sounds like ours. We're in the cul-de-sac and there's no ambient light. Derek loves to stargaze.

Wouldn't you know, now that my vacation from school is almost over I'm in a reading mood. I think I'm going to crawl into my papasan today and read as much as possible. Also need to get pictures of Sasha downloaded and posted.

Howdy, yayas!

I'm reheating some of my shrimp from last night and getting ready to hop in the shower. Have to go to work at 2-wanna call out for a mental health day,but I won't do that. Realize that I won't see the boss for three weeks-and that means I need to go have a conversation on my day off.

The kids are watching Muppet Treasure Island, and Ed is reciting the swedish chef's lines, lol!

Just wanted to say hi, thanks for the well wishes and I'm sure I'll get back to my usual Mary Poppins self soon. I don't like being a gloomy person (that's Ed's job) and it really is taking it out of me.

Suzanne

Morning...er.... afternoon YaYas!!

Awwww.... I love your YaYa story, Caroline!! We are so blessed to have you here with us! You bring so much to our little corner of the CB! Thank you to Karen and Nancy for guiding you to us!

I vote for trying out the new position, Caroline! Always an adventure to try something new! The boss must feel confident that you're the woman for the job... go for it! :)

Hi Karen! My Tanzanite is a necklace. I tried to locate a picture online somewhere that would at least be similar to what I have, but I can't find anything. It was a Christmas gift from my mother. Kind've cute story actually... I bought her a Tanzanite and diamond ring for Christmas, completely unaware that she had purchased the necklace for me. :) It's one of my favorite stones now! It's so delicate... very pretty!

Kristy, the Dakota photos are just priceless!! That last picture is just the cutest!

Canadian and English chocolate is different from ours? I didn't know that! Wow! What a jip!

Hey there SSB! Sorry you missed church today! :( We should've gone but DH isn't feeling well at all. Being out of the habit doesn't help either. I hate myself for that. Bleh. :( That's number one on the list of things to change for 2005!

Cute girls Liz! I missed who they are though. Are they neices?

Yep, I'm another one that read posts with the person's voice in my mind. :)

A hug to Suzanne concerning work stuff and for the upcoming surgery too. Your house location sounds so peaceful, Suzanne!

Keeping Christin in my thoughts today, Nancy!

Hello to Pam. How is your Sunday going?

Hi JRKaren... were the boards down earlier?

Hello, Ya Ya family! Happy Sunday! Had to laugh over ya'll tryin' to say you were worse slugs than me, yesterday! My usual routine is to start my day with a shower--I felt like a slug cuz I was still in my jammies, had breakfast AND lunch and still hadn't hit the rain locker!! I am a true slug all week long, though, when it comes to housework. I do as little as I can get away with!

Caroline, I'm so glad you decided to poke your head in here, too!! You are a true Ya Ya sistah--especially after that spectacular Ritual Nekkid Initiation Dance in the frigid weather!! The Aurora Borealis backdrop was really a nice touch.

Suzanne, here's a
hug.gif
for ya. We all have days when we just can't take any more. Feel free to vent all ya need and we'll provide all the support we possibly can. Sorry to hear the new friend for the boys isn't long for the neighborhood, but it sounds like you will be moving to an even better area when the house is complete! What I wouldn't give to be able to sit and watch the stars at night......

Oh, what a beautiful baby that Dakota is!!!! Kristy, I'm with the others, the pic of her clutching at her toes is just soooo precious! I can see why you want to claim her as ALL yours! LOL! Glad the "recipe" worked out! I used to do that with ribs, too. Just got to make sure the meat is always covered with sauce, or add a little water, to keep it from drying out.

Ah, Liz, sooooooo glad to hear you got invited to see the girls dance again! They ARE a couple of cuties and certainly seemed sweet, the little time I spent with them. So, I guess it's safe to say, that bath bomb really bombed, huh?!! :roftl: Sometimes, I just crack myself up!!!

Well, my crockpot is full of corned beef today. Simmering nicely--I'm going to cut up all the veggies so they are all ready to add when I get back from class. Speaking of which, I have homework that needs to get done and the coffee pot is calling!! See ya'll later! :grouphug:

Suzanne hope work isn't too bad for you today.
Kimmie we're out of the routine too. It's so hard to get back into it though.
LOL Beth...by that definition of slug that's me today. I'm staying in my jammies ALL day. :)

Here's Sasha, she's keeping my papasan warm for me :teeth:

Wait a second here. How come I'm the only one to get publicly humiliated? I want a recount on all these Nekkid Ritual dances.

Karen

It's snowing! And we have a play to go to later today :(

I've had Canadian chocolate, British chocolate, German chocolate and Australian chocolate and I still like See's the best :)

Sasha is a cutie.......
Actually, Lily has the Love Bug outfit from last year ;) She will put it on Feb. 1st...I like it better than this year's :teeth:

I can't get the open box to show large.....maybe someone else can.
And.....I am getting new photo software, as soon as I can get to Costco....so pictures will be back soon, I hope.

I am so ticked off... something was blocking my fan and just as I was about to post a HUGE reply, my laptop shut itself down... I lost everything even though I was copying as I went along the way :(

I haven't been able to get in since late last night as well...

So I loved the pics, hope all those down or hurting or sick are feeling better, and those who need a little luck will get it.

Sorry this is pathetic, but I am so ticked off that 30 mins of catch uping is all gone  :sad1:

I had this wonderful ketchup done about 4:30 this morning and the stupid board lost it on me. DRATED boards!!! Yep I was up that early. Couldnt sleep. Now of course Im dead tired. Gonna take a power nap as soon as I start the swedish meatballs for dinner. They are already cooked so its more a matter of heating and simmering them hence starting them so late.

Ahhhhh Kristy see we dont do lunchmeat for lunches. The kids eat lunch at school and dh and I eat either peanut butter and jelly if we come home or leftovers of what we had the night before. Lunchmeat really adds up a lot especially if you buy the good stuff and theres not much point if ya dont. I got all the stuff for dinners and breakfasts and stuff for 80.00 last night.

Nancy there are a lot of meals that can be made in the crock that dont require a lot of creamed stuff or highly salted stuff so your dh might be able to eat pretty much anything you can cook in there. I have a few sites bookmarked if you want me to send them to you. You can also cook more than you need and package it up to heat up laters. I do that with my sauce. I always make a double batch and then freeze some for another night.

Caroline I am so glad you found us and I for one am glad you decided to stay with this crazy group. You are truely one of us. Good luck on whichever job you chose. Are you looking to get on camera for metorology? Would the second job keep you from that?

Kristy I dont know if I said it before but I totally love the pictures of Dakota. She is just so adorable. Sasha is a cutie too!!!

Kimmie how neat you got a necklace in Tanzanite and that you got your mom a ring. I have a ring and earrings in tanzanite and would like a necklace to go with it. Maybe for my birthday in August or my anniversary in July. I have two necklaces that I wear now but heck three wouldnt be too much ROFL!!!!!! You can never have enough jewlery.

Nancy I am keeping Christian high in my prayers that she gets this job that she wants.

SSB glad to hear you had such a good day with the kidlets and that you are feeling well. Sorry you had to miss church today. I went but should have stayed home. I was too much of a slug to get much done at Kidz Church and it was kinda noticible. I just couldnt get my act together today to save my soul.
