Kimmie Im so sorry to hear about your moms surgery but glad to hear the reason they are putting it off. Im glad they are taking the whole person into consideration before they do anything. Kids are in bed and going to sleep and I think mommy is going to head there very soon. Gonna take something to help me sleep and try to rest. Dh is being sweet and gonna give me a footie rub. That always helps to relax me.

Nope Karen, didn't make the bread from scratch. By the time I actually found a couple recipes for Italian bread (I admit I've never made that before) it was too late for bread to rise. So Luis picked it up at the store. I almost wish I had made it though... neither of us truly cared for it. But the sauce was totally from scratch and made from freshly grown tomatoes At least I did something

Thank you very very much for the prayers and good thoughts, Elaine and Karen. I really do appreciate it so much. It's been a weird week, to say the least. We're trying to focus on the positive end of this and consider it some extra time to get her ready for this. Personally, I see this delay as a good thing. I think the opportunity to "get healthier" is a plus, but I know postponing it was difficult for her emotionally.

Clothes tearing? Heck I dunno. Some women have no control. It's just pathetic.

I heard a little about the Star Wars DVD changes. Unfortunately it'll be after Christmas before they make an appearance in our house. Santa will be bringing them I'm sure, so I most likely will hold off on buying them for now.

Had a busy day of running around today. I am pooped. We were on a quest for a new TV stand for one of the boys rooms. Finally found one and Junior is putting it together right now. Went out to dinner, and came home and got all the stuff we bought put away and washed a couple shirts. Now I'm taking a break. I'll clean up the rest tomorrow.

Kimmy, sorry to hear your Mom's surgery was postponed. That has to be frustrating.

I have been having horrible heartburn the past few days, and almost choked when eating lunch the other day. My food just kinda got stuck and it freaked me out something fierce. I really hate going to the dr. but I think I'm gonna have to break down and call them on Monday. I can't stand this anymore.

Yes, it is 4:00 a.m. and I can't sleep. So, I'm home washing clothes and packing to leave again tomorrow for Pensacola or someplace out thatta way. Yesterday was a VERY stressful day.

Yesterday, I had to go to our offsite storage vendor for an open house, and I thought we would be gone for two hours, but we wound up being gone for four hours! So, by the time we got back to the office, I just cleaned up and went home. It was a good day. And we went out to this cute little restaurant for lunch, and the food was good and cheap (well, free for me--my boss put it on her company credit card).

Anyone got big plans for the weekend? I'm heading into Boston to meet a friend to go shopping and for lunch at my favorite restaurant--Fire & Ice--today

I had this really weird dream the other night. I was at Disney World with some guy, and I thought his name was Ashford Simpson, then it turns out that he was in Ashford and Simpson. The strange thing about it is while I hav heard of Ashford and Simpson, I couldn't tell you what they sing. I don't know why they were in my dream. It was very bizarre.

Rose, sorry about your scary, stressful experience. I hope that the hurricane turns away too. It sure has been bad down there this year. Stay safe.

Kimmie, sorry they postponed your mom's surgery, but your right--it is a good thing. If you mom really commits to getting healthier before the surgery, it will make the recovery easier. and prayers to both of you.

Elaine, making sauce from scratch? Wanting to make garlic bread from scratch? You are quite the domesticated goddess! I do make my sauce from scratch (with canned tomatoes, though), but I've never made bread from scratch. Did you make enough for all of us though?

Dang, I totally forgot to say, Rose Mary, that I have some pasta left over today Actually I have a lot of tomatoes to go through, so I will be making more (w/o much spice or any meat in it) to freeze.
So Karen, I'll have more for y'all later today. Oh and I always do make it from scratch using canned stuff, but almost never bother to make it with fresh tomatos. Never from a jar (like Ragu) anymore.

JR Karen--well when all those boys hit the teens somehow they just dont need mommy to be around all that much. Oh Im around enoungh, and if you ask them, maybe to much since Im usually in all their business. As we speak they are queitly having a "we are getting rid of her for a few hours" party!

Hey All,

Slept fitfully last night even taking something. I think the stress of this storm is getting to me big time. I know it is today. Im trying to remain calm and composed for the kids but my insides are shaking big time. This stupid storm just keeps sliding farther and farther south. They said this morning that now they dont expect it to take the northern turn until AFTER it hits land. I am so scared right now it isnt funny. They are saying Cat 3 to possible Cat 4 by the time it hits. We just cant get out as the getting supplies, hotels, and etc...stuff from the previous three storms has broken us moneywise. We have to stay here. Safe room will be the kids room and Im in the process of emptying their closet so we can all get in there if need be. The bathroom is not an option as I dont trust the roof area over it. I will try to stay online as long as I can but I expect we will lose power here. Lets face it a bunny farts in our area and we lose power. I do have phone numbers for some of you so I will call if I can and let you know how we are doing. The weather is already getting iccky out there. Its windy and raining as we are getting the outer bands already. They said to make all your preps before noon because the weather will go downhill quickly after that and you might not be able to. I wish I were anywhere but here right now.

Got to sleep in a bit and I needed it.
Junior is off getting his MRI right now. Boys (well, all but 1...he's playing video games! LOL) are outside playing B-ball. Think we'll just stay home today. My house is a wreck from putting together these new beds, TV stands, etc. so I'll be cleaning most of the day.

Thanks all about the heartburn thing. It probably is reflux, DH has it as well. He says my symptoms sounds like his. I'm just freaked about the dr. But, I need to get this under control. I can't take this heart burn anymore, its getting really bad, and its coming on all the time.

Kitty pee. Bleh. We had that trouble a long time ago Nancy. We never did break them of it. Instead, the carpet got ripped out and replaced and the kitty became an outside critter. Sigh.

Nancy, good luck with the yard work... I am going to look for a wool pea coat today (some sales were going on) for winter (have a leather and a down coat... need an in between one I can shovel in), but after that I might do the leaves in the front yard... we have one tree that falls early so it is usually bare by the time the leaves start changing. At least we get to do the raking/blowing in shifts

Not sure what to suggest for the kitty. We had one who did that, and it was a mental thing. He did it in the front hallway (right in front fo me and would run as soon as I "yelled" at him to stop) and the tub... at least the tub was easy to clean. Another kitty had an infection and did that... other than keeping the door closed I don't know what to suggest.

Sherry, I hope all is well with Junior and the MRI today. ANd for you and the heart burn too. I know a few friends with similar symptoms but different troubles (reflux, allergies... etc). Hopefully it will be easy to deal with
