Elaine that right where both myself and Rosemary are. We are both on the SE coast of Florida right now. Hurricane watches went up this morning. Now its a wait and see where it goes. Wish us both luck that it turns a lot sooner than they think it will. We dont need another one here.

Well, we go over to pick colors for the house in a bit, and I have to go to the doctor. Seems the phlebitis has flared up again-but it looks more like cellulitis than a clot. We'll see what the doctor says. This may put a crimp in the weekend plans.

Ed just cracked me up, said "I'm Sorry" then "Thank You". Don't know what they're for, but it was just like that commercial.

Was gonna do a ketchup, but someone is complaining that I'm not paying attention to him. Back tonight after packing.

One quick thing...Lainey, PM me your email address and I'll send you the picture. Didn't mention, but there are three different Nightmare before Christmas Toppers-Jack as Sandy Claws, and two different Jack heads. I may take pictures tomorrow night and post them Sunday after work and before heading back to property.

Karen, actually I meant the SE of the US as a whole, and not just FL. Paths have been known to change (Ivan did at the proverbial "11th hour", which is why New Orleans probably still stands) but the path in general looks not so good for the SE coast of the US. My prayers are with everyone right now though. And yep, I do follow these storms a lot due to work as well... some day I'll have to post pics of the hurricane that hit Houston in 2001... we lost an entire site in a matter of hours and had to work through the weekend to restore service. Fortunately this year we've been spared (so far).

TS Allison was a horrible here--she wasnt even a hurricane and we had much more damage than we did from Alicia in '83. Ivan could be the same. Looks like Ivan is going over Houston but will be pulling in moisture from the Gulf (and there's a lot), plus the fact there is a pressure system (cant remember if high or low) that will be basically holding the rain over one spot--Our spot
Thats what happened with Allison--caught between pressure system she just stayed put and rained, and rained, and rained.

And the insanity has begun. Stores have been flooded with people since yesterday and shelves are getting bare on essentials for the storm. I went to get gas during lunch and there are VERY long lines. It took over a half hour just to top off my tank as I was at a little less than half full. This is during lunch time. It will be horrendous at the end of the work day. Of course this is the only time dh can gas up his SUV. Can ya'll just blow really hard and blow this dumb fool thing back out to sea for us?? This makes the FOURTH time in less than two months that we have had to prep like this and the fourth time our state is gonna get hit. Im REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLY begining to hate living in Florida.

Well I did skip out on work and came home. Ran some errands first (bought new nail polish, spices from Penzey's, had lunch at Chick Fil A, and went to the grocery store). Now I am going to fix a few things that my "dearest" messed up on my desktop.

Deena, you are right... Allison wasn't even a hurricane, but she did a ton of damage Working with telcos around the US really has opened my eyes to the damage storms, tornados and all that can bring. Like I said, that one caused us to lose a POP site of ours (totally gone) and we had to decomission it due to the storm. I really do pray that y'all do not see a repeat of that one!!!

Karen, just pray that Jeanne won't come your way or cause any more trouble for anyone... I still hope she turns more east and heads back out to sea.

Welp the day is over and I am home. Came home to the announcement that we are now under hurricane warnings. UGH.

I decided that I would just relax tonight and have a glass of wine and try to destress. Tomorrow and the next day promise to be very stressful days. Im taking tonight for me. Dh is cooking dinner tonight and Im just gonna spend time with the kids and just chill.

Oye. Long week. Hey, ya'll moved! A club Med thang huh?! Nice! Plenty of fun things to do with cabana honeys here! Yay!

Long story short... they cancelled Mom's surgery. Or... lemme' rephrase that. They postponed Mom's surgery. The surgeon wanted to see her a bit more stable physically before he proceeded. I appreciate his diligence, I really do... but I hated to see the emotional turmoil it put her through. Sigh. Anyhoo... we're back home again and the plan now is to help her take the necessary steps to get a bit healthier before the next scheduled surgery date.

Okay, there was a mention of a mystery cabana boy that apparently turned out to be Alan, but... I didn't even get to see the red X. What a jip! BUT!!! I did see a very nice looking young man a few pages back... wearing spandex I think. Or... at least partially wearing spandex. It looked as though someone tried to tear the suit off the poor boy! Who would do a thing like that?!?!

Okay, somewhere waaaay back, while I was getting ready to head out of town for the week, I remember someone asking me if I had Sims 2 yet. Nope. I've heard so many horror stories about older computers not running it, I've been afraid to get it. Mine is probably a year to a year and a half old, (I think) so I'm thinking I may have trouble with it. Sigh.
