Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Monday QOTD: What is your favorite healthy place to eat at Disney?

I hope this wasn't asked before.

Mine is Boma's - Everything is so flavorful there!

My first diet was at age 7, and they threatened to put me on my aunt's "starvation diet" if I did not stick to it. That scared me, so I learned to sneak food and lie about it at a very young age.

I like the on line program for tracking. Very easy to find everything that you need. I like WW because it doesn't tell me what to eat or not to eat - I don't do well with "food police".

I gained weight last week but lost 4.5 this week. Trying to get training again.

Frankly, with my father in law's cancer recurring and the situation of my niece (still hospitalized) and my husband, I was pretty much ready to give up racing for a while. The May event is usually a family affair, but it did not look like either my sister in law or father in law would be able to take part.

However, my father in law wrote my husband last week and said that he had signed up for the "marathorn" - lol. He does not run, he volunteers, and this looks like a second year where he will do so while undergoing chemotherapy.

When he signed up, I had to also, so I did so - back with Team Arthritis. Still not sure if my sister in law will be able to, as looking after her daughter will be a full time job for a while, but I am in.

Also had an "aha" moment, as Oprah calls them, the other night at WW. Went to a new class as I missed my own. A leader there had joined in January, 1984 and lost about 90 lbs. He has kept it off and has been a leader 20 years.

It occured to me that I joined WW for the first time in September, 1984. I lost 73 lbs, but gained them back along with another 36. I told him that we were both the "class of 84" but that he was successful and I was not. This is because he made it a lifestyle and mine was a diet. I weighed in, binged uncontrollably for four days, then starved and sometimes purged with laxatives for three.

Well I have lost 32 of those 36 extra pounds. I will be happy to lose the next four pounds and get to where I was in 1984, that will feel like a new start.

Wow - how awful to have them put you on a diet like that (with scare tactics) that young. Sorry to hear about your Father-In-Law. Great job on losing the 32 of those 36 extra pounds - your almost there! Keep up the great work.

I have had consistent losses since the beginning of the challenge but I am scheduled for major surgery on Thursday so I have some concern about that continuing. I am hopeful that I will not be hungry and lose simply from that.

Good luck on your surgery. Please come back and update us.

Sunday QOTD: Do you work out at home, outdoors or at a Gym? What does your workout consist of? If you do it at home, what equipment do you use/have. What are some items for your home gym you would like to add.

I prefer to do outdoors. I have a hard time concentrating if I try to indoors. I typically walk and try to do yoga after I walk to get a really good all over stretch. I also have videos to do inside that are aerobics or pilaties type. The next thing I would like to get would either be The wave firm or yoga booty ballet!
Had another good day today. I took the little monsters on a walk and then cleaned my bedroom when I got back to town (I was visiting my folks). Since I use that Woolite Rug Stick which requires some scrubbing it was definitely a workout!

I'm getting so sick of Rice and Beans/Tofu and Cous Cous for my meatless lunches, so I stocked up on meatless Lean Cuisines, Healthy Choice, and Smart Ones. Once I find some more recipes I'll cook again.[/QUOTE]

Definately look for some new recipes. I hate when I get into a rut too.

morning losers ----

jenn - i'm proud of your decision to forego surgery, just talking with some friends this weekend about how dangerous the surgery can be

melanie -- congrats on your DDs team! fantastic! my DD will turn 17 this summer and i'm in denial too......great job at Olive Garden! wowser!

EB--love your picture!

QOTD -- I workout outdoors walking when the weather permits, indoors on my TM or with DVDs, stability ball and few handweights; and also my DH's work has a fitness center. so i'm very blessed in this respect, I get bored so i like to mix-it up. last night got on the Wii Fit, hadn't for 61 days and I got a scolding :rotfl:

i didn't journal at all this weekend, wasn't home and just let it slip. hopefully i won't pay for it friday morning. i did talk myself into a TM workout last night since i missed sat morning. went scrapbooking all day instead :goodvibes

:goodvibes :goodvibes :wizard: PD and good mojo to all for a fantastic week that will leave you feeling energized, healthy and ready to face the tempations of the weekend with gusto!

Don't you hate when the WII scolds you, lol!

You must be so proud of her. The video is awesome to watch. They are so talented. She and her friends must be on cloud 9. Were you crying? I started to fill up as they announced the winners. It's so awesome to see our kids do well. My nephew played football for the Beverly High Panthers and they lost their thanksgiving day game, and it was so sad to see those big football players walking off the field in tears. It's so nice when they succeed.

Thanks - Yes we were all super proud. We've had many competitions this year in 2nd place and a few 3rd & 4th's too. It's nice when they win! I'm going in hopeful when we go to Disney, but honestly I think the competition will be tough for them. But you never know!!! Unfortunately our girls are hit or miss. When they are on they are awesome. When they miss it all falls apart.

Monday QOTD: What is your favorite healthy place to eat at Disney?

Mine would def be The land, I think maybe sunshine seasons :confused3 I honestly never paid attention to the name of it. lol I just know it is VERY VERY good!!!

Monday QOTD: What is your favorite healthy place to eat at Disney?

!

We had lunch at Sleepy Hollow in january, and had chicken rice soup that was great. That was probably my healthiest lunch. Bad mommy moment though, michael didn't like the soup, but I tried to make him eat it anyway. We wanted a light lunch because we were doing crystal palace for dinner. It was pretty funny, once I chilled out. Then he got a turkey leg.

I like Artist's Point at Saratoga, they have a few things I like.

Mel - saw the second video - they looked great! Sarah watched it with me and we had fun watching them as they announced the places - how they got more excited as they counted down. :) She says "My squad does the same thing!" :cheer2: Their timing was right on and their whole routine was so clean!

Kathy: You are right, it's never too late!

QOTD: Hmm, my favorite for healthy eating is off property. It's one my leader told me about when we we were there. It's on Sand Lake Rd. Just off of 535. It's called Season's 52 and is owned by Darden (the same company as Red Lobster). They do a major overhaul every Season minor changes each of the 52 weeks of the year. The food is fresh and prepared in a healthy manner and man is it good. The nice thing it can fit a variety of budgets. Some entrees are under 10 but some are over 30.

For Disney dining I like Crystal Palace. They have lots of veggies and meats that have not been fried, the salmon is excellent!

Today is another pretty good day. I have a second phone interview with Nashville tomorrow and they sent me two scenarios ahead of time to perpare for, so hopefully that goes well.

:surfweb: morning...why is my coffee gone already?

QOTD -- i too am a Boma's fan! another place i feel has good options is Columbia Habour House near Haunted Mansion. where is Sleepy Hollow?

got my spinning class in yesterday and today I'm hitting the TM later this morning. today is :laundy: day so lots of trips up and down the stairs :thumbsup2

philbenjc -- :wizard: and prayers for a good outcome of your surgery

/
:. where is Sleepy Hollow?
It is to the left of the castle as you enter liberty square. It is a snack place, but they had soups and chowder there in january. I looked it up on debsallearsnet because I couldn't remember the name of it, and their menu had just snacks and ice cream listed, so maybe the soups are seasonal.

Monday QOTD: What is your favorite healthy place to eat at Disney?

Well, I have to 'fess up that I don't worry too much about looking for healthy food at Disney -- maybe that is part of my problem ?!? -- but I always feel that the walking that I am doing will outdo any food choices and I don't seem to gain weight while I am there -- I don't lose weight either. I'll be trying a little harder when I am at DL in June. :goodvibes

We ate at the Rose and Crown in UK (not sure if I am saying this restaurant right) at our last trip to Epcot and thought it was very good! I have also enjoyed Akershus Princess breakfast and the Garden Grill for lunch. Not sure exactly how healthy these places are... but I did enjoy their food.:thumbsup2

Tuesday QOTD: If you could transport yourself to Disney right now - Where would you be and what would you be doing?

I'd be at MK - walking down Main Street getting ready to start a wonderful day with my family!

Sleepy Hollow is in Liberty Square next to Hall of Presidents. They serve carmel corn and other treats - I think waffle's and funnel cake. I didn't know they served soup though - I'll have to check it out and see what they have there.

Tuesday QOTD: If you could transport yourself to Disney right now - Where would you be and what would you be doing?

I would be on Splash Mountain, after the big splash in the "cave" where the riverboat is and all the characters are singing "Zip a Dee Doo Dah"...oh, I love that part!

Tuesday QOTD: If you could transport yourself to Disney right now - Where would you be and what would you be doing?

If I was at DLR I would be in Animation Courtyard in the lobby watching the big screens and listening to the beautiful music.

If I was at WDW I would be at EPCOT on Spaceship Earth.

This was a great question! :goodvibes It makes me happy just thinking about it!

Tuesday QOTD: If you could transport yourself to Disney right now - Where would you be and what would you be doing?

I would be walking down Main St ok MK!!! That is my favorite part of the day. Being able to take in all the sights and smells, and I especially LOVE when all the characters are in the area around the flag pole! ahhhh and the warm weather would be really nice right now ;)

Tuesday QOTD: If you could transport yourself to Disney right now - Where would you be and what would you be doing?

If it was 6 in the morning I would love to be waking up in FW or at AKL to take in the sights.

If it is 8am on an EMH I would be in MK sitting watching the castle, eating breakfast from the Main Street Bakery and people watching.

If it is 2pm I would love to be in the pool at WL or POFQ

If it is 9 pm I would love to be riding either BTM or Dumbo watching the lights change on the castle.

If it is 11pm I would love to be in the HM listening to the extra screams that occur at that time of night.

I just filled up a day.

I haven't been on for a couple days. I did my weigh in on Sunday and I was up 2lbs. That's what happens when I don't eat very well, and replace exercise time with study time. Doing better the last couple days, and will hopefully be good until we leave for DL on Saturday. Unfortunately, spare time will be taking up with studying between now and then since I write an exam on Friday evening.

Monday QOTD: What is your favorite healthy place to eat at Disney?

In DL, I love to eat at Bengal BBQ. I don't think its the healthiest but its better than burgers/nuggets/fries. I love the different meats and the bacon wrapped asparagus!

Tuesday QOTD: If you could transport yourself to Disney right now - Where would you be and what would you be doing?

I'd love to be sitting on deck eating lunch from the buffet on DCL.

In DL I'd love to be in Toon Town watching the girls get excited about Mickey and Minney's houses.

In WDW, I'd love to wandering through Epcot world showcase. Just people watching and checking out the different countries.

What a fun question to think about! donac, love your schedule! :) One of my favorite things is when we drive through the main gate under the sign - we all "woo hoo" and our vacation is just beginning...that would be a great place to be because it's just starting. :woohoo: This is like asking what my favorite book is, or my favorite movie - I can't choose one! Walking down Main Street - yes! Watching DD getting excited in ToonTown to meet the characters - yes! Walking around Epcot countries watching people and have a few snacks and drinks, stopping to watch Off Kilter - yes! I also love love Wishes - so watching that would be great too.

Before the weekly superstar list come the disclaimers.

**I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference the magic percentage of weight lost formula is (weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week) times 100.

**If you miss a week and return with a loss your percentage is adjusted to reflect missing one week.

**If you gain and then post a loss your percentage is adjusted. If your loss is less than last week's gain then you are not named a superstar because you are still working to lose the gain.

These last two items really drove me crazy this week. I am really trying to be fair to everyone.

And now what you really wanted to see.

More losers not checking in this week. I do worry about them. Some of them have been very faithful participants. This concerns me. Why would they leave when we are so close to the end. Or are we close to the end??

My DIS NBC insider has confirmed to me that the last episode of the BL TV show will be three hours on Tuesday, May 12. That means the TV show will go for another 6 weeks than what we expected in December when this challenge was organized. Biggest Loser Central is in the planning stages of what to do next to finish out the BL TV season until May12.

Now is the time to voice your opinions of our WISH BL7 challenge. What did you like? What didn't you like? What would you like to see in the future? Can you help out? Please post, PM or email your thoughts to me. Biggest Loser Central is made up of unpaid volunteers that work tirelessly to make this fun for you. The more volunteers we have the less work for each person.

How was your week? Were you a superstar? Why or why not? Only you know the answer to that. This is a lifestyle change. We are here to live healthier lives. We are here to change habits. How are you doing? It's worth the effort. Remember the old saying 'nothing tastes as good as being thin feel'. You know it is true. Get to work superstar!
