Today is a hard QOTD. Its always much easier to say what I don't like about myself instead of what I do like.
I like that I'm a great mom most of the time.
I like that I have ambition and am willing to work to get what I want.
 
Oh everybody I am so sorry. I have been so sick for the last 10 days or so and have not set foot on here. That means the COWS are Waaaaay behind and I might even be off the challenge since I don't know the last time I weighted in! :sad2:
I have no tried to catch up on the thread yet and I wont have time for the next few days, but hopefully I am back!
You faithful COW people, just keep doing what you are doing and I will have a new one next week!

Good to hear from you but sorry to hear that you've been so sick. Take care of yourself and we'll be here when you get back to feeling better.:grouphug:
 
Things are going well this week. My eating is GREAT, and its all under control. Hoping I pull out a loss, the scale is going down and that is a good thing!
Your post sounds so positive! I love reading it!

I did do something I have not been able to do. I walked over 10,000 steps yesterday. I have been wearing a pedometer for the last 4 weeks and this is the first time I hit 10,000. I hit 9000 a couple of weeks ago but never 10,000. I guess I was busier than I thought I was.
Way to go!:cool1:

I have a pair of jeans that were a size smaller that I couldnt fit it. My fingers would hurt when I tried to button them and forget about the zipper. I tried them on this morning and the FIT!!:worship: :worship: I can breath and they are not tight. This really motivates me to keep going. Especially since I have so much to lose.
That is a great example of not focusing on the scale too much. Congrats on being able to put on the jeans!:woohoo:

Thanks for the :wizard: & prayers all. I'm still trying to find Drs. NM has very few specialists. The gastros I've called won't take patients under 18 (she's 17). The pediatric gastros stop at age 16. I guess 17 yr olds aren't supposed to have problems!
Oh, what a crazy situation! Interesting theory, it does make sense. Please keep us posted!

Basics are cut out high fructose corn syrup--etc., white flours, as many preservative that you can. Focus on fresh.

That is why I wanted to celebrate ourselves. It can be way to easy to be hard on ourselves, but we each have many positive attributes and we should celebrate that. If we don't toot our own horn, no one will... so lets do it and celebrate all of our special qualities.

Well, I figured out that the emotional angle is really what triggers me- and have a handle on that. Also I was watching biggest loser and Bob? made the point that the young kid on the team that keep falling under the line wasn't eating enough calories- I think I've been doing the same thing. I skip lunch a lot too and work 6 hour shifts where I don't eat anything. Keeping the metabolism going is important.
tv--jeez looking back I guess I was a tv junkie- some of my favorites were Wheel of Fortune, back when you could pick out the prizes in the showcase (remember the dog ;-)) I remember watching the electic company, Happy Days Laverne and Shirley, Mork & Mindy, Little house, Brady bunch re-runs, Cosby when I was older, Family Feud (still watch that lol) Family Ties, I was attached at the hip to mtv throughout my teen years (y'know back when they had actual music videos).

so glad you could figure out what was your triggers. it isn't easy, and just seeing that helps us get more in control.

I DO remember the prize showcase! Wow, that brings back memories. We watched alot of the same tv! Must be similar ages.

Just popping in to update. Dont' really have time to review posts. I maintained this week. This is getting so freaking frustrating. In almost 8 weeks my net loss has been .4 lbs. I'm realy working to convince myself to not throw in the towel. It's been a busy stressful week. I've been trying to do job applications now that schools are starting to post their openings, and my Instituional Review Board application is due tomorrow. It's been incredibly stressful getting everything done for that and it is printout out now as I type. I've just been so stressed out this entire week and don't see an end to it anytime soon.

The one bright spot on the horizon is I have a phone interview with a charter school in Nashville on Wednesday.

:hug: Hang in there. If you were to give up - You would gain the .4 you lost plus some. Hang in there and work the program. You will show a loss. Maybe you need to rework something your doing. Mix it up and try to jump start it. You can do it!!

Next week is my week to ROCK!! I ordered Jillian Michael's two new workout DVD's. My hubby is leaving tomorrow for a two week Military trip starting tomorrow. If I'm not so busy running the household and taking the kids here and there - I'm hoping to find time to exercise. I can do this.

Yeah hang in there- and if you haven't been measuring that really helps me keep from getting down when I stall- because the inches are usually coming off! Or atleast maybe try on something smaller you have and see if it fits looser? Don't give up! :)

QOTD: Salty or Sweet?

Yes. I like them together or one right after the other. The biggest problem is that I either eat too much together or the one right after the other is cyclical. So again, I eat too much...
I hadn't thought about that. Am i the only one that LOVES to eat theatre popcorn along with a hershey bar? bite for bite- together they are de-li-cious! I'm really not as into either one by themselves... weird huh? LOL

Hmm, that's a hard one. I'd be here all day if you asked what we don't like about ourselves. I can't think of ONE THING physically that I really like- so let's forget that. LOL
Um, I'm a pretty decent mom. Atleast I put them before myself always- although not perfect. LOL
um...... I can type really really fast. LOL I'm good with numbers, I'm outgoing although some people might say I'm just talkative- or too talkative? LOL, and I'm a very loyal person (friends and family and even strangers- I'm all about fairness and if someone is being mistreated- I cannot help but defend them sometimes to my own detriment for getting involved LOL) ummm... I'd have to think about it for awhile to figure out anymore. LOL

Oh I finally broke my mini-stall. I swear I was gettting annoyed. I was to the point that if I didn't start to lose SOMETHING, even the tiniest bit, soon I was about to go hogwild and have a cheat meal just to break it up and maybe get to losing again. I'm glad I didn't have to go that route because if I did cheat I"m sure I would have gained some weight I'd have to lose again. Always happened that way last time! LOL glad I didn't have to go there.......

Please don't be so hard on yourself:grouphug: ...life is one of those things that is going to happen to us all. I believe if you give up now, you will regret it in the future. Stick with us, try to make some small changes even if it is just focusing on getting more H2O in or when you are driving to a place, park farther away to get a little more walking in.

* Report your weigh in pounds ie xxx or xxx.x.
* Carefully review your weight before you send your message to me. PLEASE make sure the weight is typed correctly. Is that 166 or 156? Are you at 174 or 177? Misspelling is forgivable, typos happen, let's just make sure they don't happen with those numbers in your weight.
* Weight reports are required to remain in the challenge. After three weeks of no reports you are dropped from the challenge. After being dropped from the challenge you may return by reporting your current weight.

It is so frustrating to lose the same few pounds, I'm right in the same boat, but it is so much better than gaining them back, plus another 10-20, so we must perservere. Good for you for getting right back on this week. I've been doing jillian's trouble spots video this week on comcast on demand, and I love it. I'll probably buy it when it goes off the cable.

I like that I am a positive, happy person. I am a good mom and a good nurse, and at work, even when it is crazy stressful, I never let the patients see that. I am motivated and when I want something, I usually set my mind to it and work hard to get there.

I now have a theory....This all started following her concurrent enrollment Yoga class. Boyfriend is in it & I think she would overdo to keep up. And, she had double inguinal hernia repair at 8 months old. DH family history - every female as far as they can trace has them...and usually has to have them repaired more than once. I think she has the beginnings of another hernia, or two. And, to make it even better, TOM arrived late last night for her. UGH!!!! Calgon take me away....far, far away!!! I've emailed the Yoga instructor to see if I can meet with him to get some more info for my theory. I was told a hernia wouldn't show on CT or ultra or xray unless the intestine was protruding.

Wednesday QOTD: Salty or Sweet?

I watched that too. I was so tired but I wanted to stay up and see Bill Maher on Leno. I didn't eat anything but I did the litterboxes on commercials ( I have 15 litterboxes) and my back exercises during the end of the show and for part of Jon Stewart. I had to just force myself to do my back exercises-- then the kitten wasn't making life much easier as he saw it as a great opportunity to attack my hair (ow) evertime I did an abominizer sit up lol. I really want to lose at least a pound this week so I can go see The Reader.(lol) I bought some dang hummus at Costco though and even though I cut up sun dried tomatoes to put in it- I'm sure it is putting me over on my calorie count. I've been eating 3 of those small Franz bagels for breakfast except one day I had a smoothie. I have one more pack of bagels to use up then I'll put the rest in a foodsaver bag and freeze it for our trip. It'll be nice to just cut off a tip of bag and squeeze it out for bagels.
That is so smart of you to get up and exercise during commercials. I should try that.

I am down 1.2 of the 2.4 that i gained last week. Happy with that, since I wasn't on track the whole week. I'm doing well the past few days, and will stick with it and see the rest of my gain gone next week.

I have my niece's birthday party- pizza and cake, but her parents are also trying to be healthier, so I'm hoping they will have some healthier snacks too.
My son is loving webkins, so we were talking a few weeks ago and I said maybe I'd get him one of those for valentines day, instead of candy, and he thought that was great, so no candy in our house tomorrow. He did buy the little boxes of conversation hearts for his cousins, and I have stayed away from the chocolate. I might pick up 2 little dove chocolate hearts for each of us as a treat, but I won't buy a big bag, or box of chocolates, because I know I will eat the whole thing.

Well, it appears being sick for the past week and a half is helping my weight loss. I was down 5 lbs. this week, and now just 1 pound shy of 20 for this year. Already can tell a difference in some of my clothes, and going over a notch on the belt buckle as well. Last night, I was even able to go about 25 of the 40 minutes in our basketball game, and didn't feel like I was going to pass out afterwards.
 
I lost 1.8 pounds this week. I'm really happy with that as I didn't lose much the two weeks prior. I've lost 11.6 so far and only need 3.4 to reach my challenge goal! :woohoo:

Our mothers are traveling in to visit this weekend for DD's 3rd birthday. FREE BABYSITTING!!!!!!!!! We are going to a nice Italian restaurant for dinner and haven't decided yet what to do after that. We did agree that in the spirit of this competition there would be no chocolates exchanged. ;)
