Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Good morning everyone - I'm sorry but I haven't checked in for a few weeks - I've been really sick with a bronchitis - it just started in my chest one day and whammed me from there. I wasn't sick and didn't have a cold. Its been almost 3 weeks and I'm still not back to normal. I'm so far behind in reading that it will take me a while to catch up. Have a great week everyone

I'm an RN. I did pretty good with my weight when I worked evening shift, but when I went to night shift 3 years ago, I gained a lot. I was basically adding a 4th meal to my day. I finally realized that all the skinny people on the shift never eat at work! Now if I really need something at work, I have a piece of toast or an apple dipped in peanut butter, but I don't pack a full meal anymore. I try to fuel my body with sleep instead of food, so I've started taking a nap after work even on days that I don't have to go back in to work that night.
!
NIghts are tough> I haven't worked them in years, but remember if it was quiet, around 4-5 in the morning feeling queasy if I didn't eat something, and if I didn't bring anything, those vending machines are so bad. Sounds like you have a good plan that is working.

Hello everyone,

It was a rough weekend, my son had the flu, he ended up in the hospital on Saturday. Word of warning, get the flu shot! This is no joke, I was scared and left with vending machines all around. I made it through with lots of water and pretzels. I really wanted the chips, stress eating.

He is home now and doing well, back to normal activities which include but are not limited to driving us all crazy.

I hope to do well this week but have not been able to take care of me because DS needed me to be there for him 24/7. Tomorrow it's all about me.
Glad your son is feeling better. It is scary how sick someone can get from the flu.

Wow. I didn't think I'd win! I knew I had a good week but I'd looked back thru the weeks and they were so great I thought I might make the list but not WIN! wow.....
Well, if it's any consolation to everyone else- my weight has basically stayed the same since Friday! I haven't figured out why but I've hit a mini-stall. And I'm not cheating, not changing my water intake, etc. I haven't figured out why but I hope I break this mini-stall soon. LOL
No chance I'll win the next one- probably won't even make the list! LOL So I better enjoy this win.... I always lose great the first month (this time 22lbs) and then it slows way down. not liking this stall staying the same weight though... that's a little TOO SLOW for my taste. LOL
I gotta figure out how to put that banner in my sig line!
:)

aw thanks... that's sweet it makes you smile. Me too! :)
Congratulations you Biggest Loser!!!! :cheer2: 22 pounds in one month is amazing!! Hang in there through that little stall, and the weight will start coming off again. It's never as fast as in the beginnning, but slow and steady will still get it off, and keep it off.

Sorry you've been feeling so poorly. Hope you are back to yourself real soon.

A big congratulations to all our losers!!!!! :cool1: You are all so inspiring to me!!:cool1:

I have been eating well all day, but the evenings come and I'm eating crap. Last night, I wanted to stay awake to watch the interview with the mom who had the octuplets, so I ate a bag of chips(individual size), two cozy shack tapioca puddings, and an ice cream sandwich through it, even after the biggest loser! And I still kept dozing off!! so stupid I could kick myself. Today, again, is a new day, and I'm pumped to stay on track. I did a 40 minute jillian workout this morning, and after school we are going to take a walk to the library. I did step on the scale today, and am the same as I was on friday, but I know if I can stay on track for the next 2 days, and drink lots of water, I can see some of last weeks gain gone. I'm going to check in here tonight, before I do any snacking.

Have a great day everyone!

Lisa take care of yourself. That is one illness that is hard to come back from. Take it easy and take time to pamper yourself.

Ok...I'm a little over a week into my new Dr Oz inspired eating healthy plan. Still unable to really exercise due to my back and hips but the scale is finally going the correct direction. Yippee. I think I'm going to start trying the pilates 100 as core strengthening to help my back

Sometimes you just need to set yourself aside and concentrate on other people. That's OK. I'm sorry that your son got the flu :(. I heard on the radio last week that it's not too late to get your flu shot! They are expecting the peak of the flu season to be later this year. Hang in there!

Bronchitis is awful. Take it slow coming back, or you could get another infection. :grouphug:

What do you do for a job, and does it help or hurt your weightloss efforts?

I'm an office manager for an auto dealership and it does not help. I'm at a desk in front of a computer almost all day.

What TV shows did you watch growing up? Did you snack while watching TV when you were little? Do you snack now?

My favorite tv show was Little House on ther Praire. But there were so many.
Not really a snacker while watching tv though.

Just checking in, its been awhile. Life is very busy & stressful the last few weeks. Makes it hard to concentrate on making the best choices and some times just going for the easiest. My exercise as been spotty as I am worrying and concentrating on finding a place to live. Not one buy TWO houses have been "stolen" from me now. I am suppose to be off the next 5 days (after today) and I am hoping to be able to take the time to refocuse. And check in at least once per day.

Well, I shouldn't say fellow losers, cause this week I'm a poser. :guilty: The scale is definitely heading in the WRONG direction. So, I took control today, and this will be a better week! ::yes::
Hang in there, this week will be a better week! Don't give up.:flower3:

The bad news
I am going out of town so next weeks official announcement will not be posted until Friday, February 20.

We will also celebrate perfect attendance and name the turtles that are working slowly and steadily at losing weight.

Congrats to all of the losers! And way to go SHELLEY!:woohoo:
Brenda, have a safe trip
Thanks again for all of your hard work! Love the idea of turtle appreciation!:thumbsup2

? Oh, and for you 90210 lovers, it was filmed at my high school. But that was before my time.
That's cool! We loved watching that show. Where was your high school?

What are the things that Dr Oz has in his eating plan? Great things will be happening for you!

One of my favorites too!

I had a very productive morning, got up and was at the gym by 6! worked out for an hour, then I had the bright idea to walk DD to school. That was fine, it took us about 28 minutes, then instead of going back home I decided to do a loop home. Hoping to walk a little over an hour. WELL, I didn't realize how big the loop was, and I ended up walking 1 1/2 hours!:scared1: I was so tired when I got home... gee I wonder why!:lmao: And even better news, I am off of work today and was slightly tempted to eat out for lunch today. But as I was walking, and struggling up a final big hill, I told myself to eat out after this exercise would be not worth it. So I just finished a grilled cheese sandwhich, strawberries and 1 serving of baked chips!:thumbsup2 So happy with my decision.

TUES. QOTD: Oh, I watched A LOT of TV! Afterschool I would watch Gilligan's Island reruns, ABC afterschool specials (remember those - loved those! ). At night we watched Little House on the prarie, Happy Days, Lavernes and Shirley, Charlie's angels, Fantasy Island, Falcon Crest, Dallas, Love Boat, Hardy Boys, Wonderful World of Disney, and so many more!

And we did snack, alot! We were allowed to snack on whatever. I usually had popcorn, or bowls of cereal. Sometimes sandwhiches, chips, and other "goodies". Hard habbits to break, still love to snack while watching tv.popcorn::

Wednesday QOTD: Salty or Sweet?

Usually get cravings for salty. When need to, will have some chips and salsa. Or a bit of popcorn.:goodvibes
But sometimes want chocolate. Still have good chocolates from Christmas in the cupboard. So have one every now and then.

I am definitely one who likes salty treats. Unfortunately that also usually means deep fried foods. I am working on finding healthier alternatives like baked chips etc.

I watched that too. I was so tired but I wanted to stay up and see Bill Maher on Leno. I didn't eat anything but I did the litterboxes on commercials ( I have 15 litterboxes) and my back exercises during the end of the show and for part of Jon Stewart. I had to just force myself to do my back exercises-- then the kitten wasn't making life much easier as he saw it as a great opportunity to attack my hair (ow) evertime I did an abominizer sit up lol. I really want to lose at least a pound this week so I can go see The Reader.(lol) I bought some dang hummus at Costco though and even though I cut up sun dried tomatoes to put in it- I'm sure it is putting me over on my calorie count. I've been eating 3 of those small Franz bagels for breakfast except one day I had a smoothie. I have one more pack of bagels to use up then I'll put the rest in a foodsaver bag and freeze it for our trip. It'll be nice to just cut off a tip of bag and squeeze it out for bagels.

Both! And that's why I need this thread . . . ;)

What she said! I crave it all...my favorite snack/tv memory is watching The Love Boat and Fantasy Island with Mountain Dew, Cheetos, and Switzer's licorice. Those tween years were yummy for me -- and since I didn't sit on my butt all day and dessert was a special treat, all those goodies did not show up in pounds. Aaahh, the good old days!

Wednesday QOTD: Salty or Sweet?
Definitely sweet. I have a huge sweet tooth... fortunately I can get over it when I avoid it completely when lowcarbing.. thank goodness!!!! :) But I do love my chocolate when I wasn't lowcarbing. LOL

thanks- you're right. Plus I know from last time that when I don't lose lbs at all- I'm usually losing inches (and gaining muscles probably). I haven't measured for this week yet (do that weekly) but I hadn't worn my jeans in a few days and put them on today and they are even looser. :) I'll definitely hang in there. I think I "kinda" broke the mini-stall today anyway. Every teensy bit lost counts, in my book. LOL
