Welcome to cattle encounters of the 4th diMOOnsion!

Good Morning all....
Well, I survived the test yesterday. But it sure wasn't fun. Luckily I had two great people performing the tests and I know it made all the difference in the world. The Nerve Study was not a big deal at all. I had the sweetest older gentleman doing that test and he talked me through everything. But the shocks they gave me for that one were not painful at all. It was strange feeling my hand twitching and jerking around.
The EMG was another story, LOL. The pain doctor that I had the consultation with last week performed that part and he was also wonderful. He chatted with me the whole time, asking me about work and talking about movies we had both seen, etc. He was really great keeping me informed about what he was doing. I was OK with the needles going in (just a pinprick feeling) but when he moved the needles around...ouchie. That was no fun at all. But I guess if I ever needed to do the test again, I could do it. It definitely wasn't as bad as people made it sound (when I was googling it, LOL).
The good news is that I don't have Carpel Tunnel. The bad news is that he did find an abnormality that corresponds to the nerve being compressed in my neck. So I have a follow up with the surgeon tomorrow to see where we go from here. She may decide to just wait it out a bit since I'm currently not experiencing the pain and even the times had hand has gone numb has decreased in the past week or so.

Welcome back, Jetski! Glad you survived. Ugh about finding the mass but hopefully you can get things figured out now :(

Jetski, glad to hear it wasn't as bad as you kept reading. Lets hope they find the relief for you so you can get back to normal. I am glad they figured out the problem. I am still praying for you! :thumbsup2

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

It was funny because the doctor almost wasn't going to do the second test because the first one came out clean. But then he reread my file and remembered that the primary problem was my neck and not my hand (he was thinking I was just there for Carpel Tunnel) so he did the second test anyway. And that was where he found the problem in the nerve coming from my neck. But no surprise there because the MRI already showed that the herniation was compressing the nerve. So it was just a second confirmation, I guess, LOL.

I'm just glad it is over. I was asking my Mom afterwards if it was too soon to start packing for Vegas (I'm ready to forget about doctors for a while and concentrate on fun, LOL). Oh well, I guess I will do that after the next doctors appointment tomorow :lmao:

Just a lot of small annoyances plus my husband was grumpy last night AND this morning.

Oh yeah, that will do it. More  Luckily I don't see my DH in the mornings (he is usually gone before I get up) so that helps because I tend to be the grumpy one in the morning. ::yes::
I usually snap out of it by the time I get the kids up though.

I hope the day turns around and goes better for you!!!

I want my sparkles back!!! :rotfl2:

Have a Super Sparkly Day!!! :rotfl:

Are you sure you see sparkles? Are you sure it ain't the sparkles that you need to take your aggression out on? :rotfl2:
