Weirdest names for people...(Inspired by the cat name thread)

When I first saw this thread I thought I had a couple of winners, but you all beat me by a mile! But I'll put my offerings in any how. I met a very nice lady a few years back who had two beautiful little girls. Their names were "Spivey" and "Vada". Never could understand those names. Certainly not obscene or freaky like some of the names previously listed here, but not what you think of when you see a beautiful baby girl!! Maybe they were family names. I didn't know her well enough to inquire about it.

I also had a friend who got PG before she was married (before I knew her). Apparently her very uptight Catholic MIL-to-be referred to the pregnancy as the "situation". I kiddingly told her that they should have named their child "Situation"!! (But her first name does begin with an S, so maybe they were already thinking about it!). ...................................P

I was told by my BIL (a nuclear engineer and reliable source) that his daughter went to the same school as Lemonjello and Orangejello.

I didn't know the family personally.

Can't supply any further documentation. (I was thinking this was just a fun post about wierd names)

I really was not meaning it to be insulting but those twins keep coming up in Georgia, Florida, Virginia, and other states. Lots of people swear to know them but I can't believe there have been that many sets of twins with that name.

I was just hoping to find someone who had first-hand knowledge of them. I wasn't trying to spoil anyone's fun, honest. :)

Here are other examples on snopes (Urban Legend Site)

Be warned that this material quotes dated racially insensitive jokes, although you do hear the same examples today.

And I am sure that some of these have really happened. Some of the ones listed have been verified by people who have posted earlier.

My father wanted to name me Amanda Lynn (a mandolin)
And my boyfriends grandmother went to school with Ophelia Rass

I have a sister-in-law named Buffy (full name, not a nick name) and a brother-in-law named Jody. My mother-in-law loved the show "Family Affair," or at least that's what I am told.
Buffy named her son Bryce Jaden. I think she wanted him to have a serious-sounding name.
My paternal grandmother's maiden name was Roberta Roberts. She named my dad Robert and my aunt Roberta. I guess she didn't go in for new or wierd names either!

These are priceless. I used to edit personality profiles and these names are real, I swear (I kept a list because they were so funny):

Euthressa Grape
Tal Cloud
Chevin Denmark
Apple Nestle O. Nazareno
Inken Purvis
Dick Dong
Derek Masterbone
Argene Miracle
Sharmetrese Miles
Richard Sex

One of the funniest I ever heard was a contestant on a game show named Velveeta Jones.

I forgot about one of my friends! She gave each of her daughters fairly normal names, but you'll understand while it is weird in a bit:

Kate (not short for anything, just Kate) Elise
Allie (not short for anything, just Allie) Mikala

So she has Kate and Allie. Anyone besides her (and me) remember the show???

A prominent man in our county is named Cullen Cullen. I like the name Cullen, but not as a first AND last name

A principal at a school in a nearby town has the name Max Pigg. He's a very nice man and jokes about his name.

I am a social worker and many people are naming their children after drinks (Tequila, Chablis) and name-brand clothing (Adidas, Fubu). I've also seen lots of luxuary car names. One child on my collegue's caseload was Onyx Large--that was several years ago. We also had a Sherman Tank running around our office. Bad name for him--he was a little guy.

I have a few I swear all are true.
I came acrosss this one at our olcal registry of deeds...
IMA SLUTSKY:rolleyes:

There was an article in the Boston Globe about a kid named:
CHEVY VAN:rolleyes:

A cousin had a foster child whose name was..
Donnalee Donnely, Because her parents thought it would be funny.

In my daughters 1st grade class years ago, we had a little boy come from Pakistan and his name was A****T. The poor teacher had a really hard time with that... and yes, it was pronounced just the way it is written.

My attorney named his baby girl, NOBSKA after the light house on Cape Cod.

Of course my kids names when I used them, raised more than a few eyebrows, and some people were down right rude... I have a Kellen, ( means little warrior in Gaelic)
Regan, (BOY) means regal and royal (also gaelic)
And his twin brother Aidan ( also gaelic means firey)

My FIL isists on calling Regan, to this day!!! Raegen
And actually said why name him Aidan? Didn't I know People would use AIDS as a nickname?
By the way number one on the new baby names of the year was AIDAN!:p

I had a Daisy Deer in my class at school and a boy called Aston because his dad supported Aston Villa Football club!!

Growing up the owner of our local candy store was named. Short form of Richard ****, Cox, and he even had a son who was a JR. So he used it again!

At my last job I spoke to a woman in GA whose name was Darla Jean Turnipseed and I worked with a bunch of people whose last name was Dingus!
My mom's missionary friends named their new baby Christ's Hope. I think that's a little much to saddle a baby with.
My name is different, it's pronounced Mick-uh-lee-na or Mike-a-lee-na but people always say Mish-a-lee-na or ask me "Is your dad's name Michael?" But it's an Italian name and was my great-grandma's.
I went to school with a girl named Satin Whitehair

Oops--forgot 2 of them.

My dad dated a woman named Dorcus Tweetmeyer before he married my mom. Her father was a local pastor and Dorcus is from Bible (as someone else said). My sisters and I still think that's hysterical!!!

I dated a man named Joe, which is a regular name. But, his mother wanted him to be Joseph Harper, Jr. and his father didn't want a Jr. So, his mother named him Joseph Junior Harper. I know it's not THAT weird, but he HATES telling people his middle name!!

Zenobiannadidy. I've heard of Zenobia, and I can sort of see Zenobianna, but to add to it to make it Zenobiannadidy?
Dewud was a wierd one too. Dewud Brown if I remember correctly. And I just saw a good one, Chikeen. What are these parents thinking?
This is a great website for out-there names:

http://www.notwithoutmyhandbag.com/babynames/

I have a second cousin whose thre kids are named Altom, Sunny Easter Day and Rocco (rhymes with loco)

I just remembered another one -- I had a little boy in my pre-school class once whose name was Kidd.

His parents referred to him as kid in the womb and it stuck!

Whenever we went on a field trip or other people were visiting the classroom we always called him by his first and middle names...Kidd Martin... so people wouldn't think we referred to our charges as "kid"

Went to High School with a Rotation Slim and are you ready for this, he was Rotation Slim III. Also, Harold Dick, Johnny Johnson, I could go on. Why do people do that to their kids?

WOOOOWWWW!!!:earseek: :earseek: These are really weird ones...:teeth:

I'm glad I started this thread because I needed a laugh.

The only one in my town I know that has a very weird name is Jacob Jacob...That to me is cruel.

I also know a Crystal Rose...Just bad but not that wierd. Problem is she is a drugged up 21 year old with a bad way of telling off-her mom in public and all the while her Mom just says...Now stop that Crystal Rose...It's not funny.
