We have to have our roof, fascia, gutters and a couple of screens replaced due to some hail damage from some really bad storms last fall. The ins adjuster first said the lower areas of the roof did not need to be replaced but then the contractor we are working with took him up there and showed him the damage and he agreed that yes, indeed we do need to have it replaced. So, when he gets ready to leave, he says to me, "Well, congratulations."
WTH? It's not like I WANTED a new roof. My house is only 4 years old for heaven's sake. I would have MUCH preferred not to have any damage at all and was thrilled that our siding did not sustain any damage.
I just thought that was a really odd comment. What do you think?
The good news is that I thought that our deductible was $1000 and found out today it is only $500.
Now THAT deserved a congratulations. (And the contractor will deduct $100 for letting us put a sign in the yard.)
