I was reading in the unoffical guide and was wondering if there is a post/listing of the restaurants food converted into Weight Watcher Points. I know it's vacation but don't want to blow it to bad... :confused3

I have never heard of this.

Don't panic. You can do it. Remember you walk a ton when at WDW and this certainly helps! :goodvibes

Super - go over to the WISH board here at the DIS. It is all about health and dieting. Half the folks follow Atkins, and the other half follow Weight Watchers (I'm a point counter, too!). With a bunch of people doing there own healthy thing! LOL!

I eat whatever I want at WDW, but with all the walking, I've gone home the same weight, and even down a pound or two.

You can get a chicken caesar salad just about everywhere at lunch time. And a lot of the kiosks sell fruit. And drink your water!

I don't think you can get exact point values but I never had a problem while at WDW. I would drink only water, eat a light breakfast, maybe split a combo with DS at lunch or eat a salad, and then I found that I could have a treat like a Mickey bar on some days and whatever I wanted at dinner every night including desserts. With all the walking I actually would lose weight during our vacation doing this. It was easy and I never felt deprived. :)

I do the WW points also and for me, it is hard being at WDW and doing points because the portions are so big. I have very little self control and if you put a huge entree in front of me, I will eat it!! Also, I love to have a cocktail at the end of the day and this also uses up points! I do overeat, but really do my best not to snack during the day and drink water all day long. Also, I try to walk as much as possible, avoiding monorails, boats, etc. if I can to get in exercise. As soon as I get home, I get back into serious point counting!

Just choose wisely and consider sharing your meals with someone. This will keep you from overeating and you will save money too! :flower:

I went a few years ago and was on the Weight Watchers plan. I ate my way through MK and Epcot and STILL lost weight that week. You walk so much that you earn activity points by the ton!

I'm a WW recep and have been to WDW many times. You can easily share most dinners (and even a good many sandwiches!) at most every restaurant on property. I averaged 7 miles a day walking (wear that pedometer!) and got more than enough water. I enjoyed a sundae one night at Ghirardelli, ate many rice krispie Mickeys, and had some fries, too! Read the menus at allears and plan for your meals. It will help cut the temptation and overwhelming feeling at a restaurant if you know what to expect. Each trip, I've been down at least 2 pounds on returning home. Just keep in mind that the pounds do not always catch up with you the week you "eat" them and chances are you won't be walking 7 miles a day when you get home, so that vacation weight can show up a couple weeks after coming home. Just remember when you get home that you are no longer on vacation and you have the tools to find out the points to what you're eating! And, most importantly, IT'S VACATION!!! Have a good time! :flower:

Didn't you know?

Food doesn't have calories at WDW. :)

At least that's what I tell myself when I'm there. ;)

I do follow Weight Watchers and try to stick somewhat to counting POINTS when I go to WDW. I do make sure I write down everything I eat/drink and try to estimate points values as best as possible. Portion sizes of entrees can definitely be an issue so I try to offset it either by splitting items or ordering appetizers instead. I also like ordering kids meals at counter service restaurants. Not only do many places have healthier options available, but the kids meals usually come with prepackaged side items that I can save for later and stretch out the kids meal into mini meal snacks to keep my blood sugar steady throughout the day -- applesauce, goldfish crackers, munchies mix, baby carrots. Vegetables are usually lacking in counter service kids meals, so I usually end up adding some tomatoes from the toppings bar to my kids meal.

As far as the activity points offset goes, I always wear a pedometer and then use a conversion factor of 1 mile walked = 1 point earned. I usually average around 12-14 miles each day, but I do quite a bit of "intentional" walking like laps around world showcase in between WSP shows or walking between Epcot and Studios instead of taking the boat or bus.
