Weight-loss Pledge Weigh-in Week 1

That's funny - mine was exactly the same. I put on 12 lbs over Christmas and lost 8 lbs last week. But I'm not counting that first week as it was just fluid so I put 4 lbs as my target over the next 5 weeks - works out the same in the end. Feels good losing so much though doesn't it???

It does feel good and, despite knowing that most of it is fluid, I still weigh 8 lbs less than I did so that's what matters :teeth:

Just back from SW - I lost 1.5 lb this week.

8.5 lb to go in the next five weeks.

I have just got back from weight-watchers and only lost 1 measly pound..
but i suppose 1lb is better off than on ::yes::
and i stil have 5 weeks left to lose the other 7lbs that i pledged.

well done Joh, on losing 8lbs
all of you have done so fantasticaly well, its great to see everyone posting their weight losses :cool1:
keep it up guys!!! :goodvibes

Well done Jeanette, thats great, it all counts and its going in the right direction as you said :goodvibes

Sue :cutie:

I cant get weighed this week. So I will have to do is get weighed next week. I will let you know.

thanks sue, i did think that i would of lost more than that though :sad1:
angel659 hope you do well for next week :goodvibes

Some excellent losses this week, with more to come...

I am doing well this week aswell I think, still eating healthily & drinking lots of water (which I really dont like!)

I have done loads of exercise today, unintentionaly. My branch is moving location this weekend so I have been packing boxes up and shifting stuff all day, far better than a gym workout!

I have lost 3 lb. Most of that will be fluid but its a start.

In case anyone is interested, a total of 27 DISers (and DH's) have lost 90 lbs so far this week. That's an average of just over 3 lbs each.

:cool1: Well done everyone!!! :cool1:

That's amazing isn't it. Well done everyone.

I went back to WW last night so I have officially started my diet this morning, and I pledged to lose 6 lbs in your 6 weeks, so there's only 4 1/2 weeks to go!

I weighed 1/2 lb more than I thought so I have changed my countdown - 11 1/2 lbs to go until my target weight.

I really am excited, and can't 'weight' (ha ha :rotfl: ) to go to WW next week to see if I have lost anything.

Is anyone else doing WW 'No Count', rather than counting points?

I used to do points but I am going to give 'No Count' a try this week as there is no limit on the amount you eat, but you have to stick to certain foods.
I thought it would be best for my first week, so I won't go hungry as if I am peckish in the evenings (which is when I am normally naughty) I can eat what I like, as long as it's on the list!

Well, here goes.....

I haven't heard of that one - sounds interesting!! Is that just for the beginning or can you stay on that diet?

I think its the same as the SW diet where you have the red and green days and the food on those is unlimited.

Yes, I think it's very similar to the red and green day one, although I have never tried that one, and with WW, you don't have to swap days, you can always eat what you want every day which is fab.

The choices are good too - most fruit and veg, chicken, bacon, lean mince, lots of cereals, skimmed milk, pots, baked beans, fish etc. etc.

The choice list is quite big, and you also get about 21 points per week, so you can always have things that aren't on the list, as long as you don't go over your points allowance for the week.

I am going to try it for a week, and see how I get on, if not I will go back to doing the points but I don't like the qty restriction - I like a big meal - so hopefully this no count diet will be better for me.

But, no it's not necessarily just for the 1st week, some people do no count all the time.

Yep it does sound the same, with SW on the green day you can have unlimited pasta, rice, potatoes and so on and on red its unlimited meat, as well as most fruits and veg, you dont have to swap days, I dont eat meat so I do all green days. Good luck Tink, I hope you do really well!

Thanks - you too.
We can do this - I know we can. :cool1:

Thanks a lot for telling us about that. It sounds really good. I'll be interested to find out how you get on. Good luck!!!
Well done to everyone who's lost weight this week - a fantastic achievement!!!!! :cool1:

Hope it's not too late for me to join in on the weight loss programme!

I have to lose 2 stone (which is 28lbs I think!) :scared: I've got to lose some of it by February 4th because I have a cheerleading competition in Loughborough and my uniform involves white lycra  The only other target after that is my holiday to Greece on June 22nd so plenty of time!

I've lost 3lbs since New Years so only 25lbs to go...

Just out of curiousity, which diets are people doing? I'm doing the GI diet because I lost weight on that diet during the summer. Good luck to everyone! x x x :flower2:

Helen

It's definitely not too late to join in - the more the merrier. Personally speaking, I am doing Slimming World for similar reasons to you. It's the only diet I find works for me - I don't find it too restrictive and am able to eat plenty of the things I like (I'm quite fussy about my food). Different things work for different people. Good luck with your weight loss :)

welcome helen :flower:
As Joh says, its not too late to join! I think a few people are going to slimming clubs and also some are just cutting down and eating more healthily, what ever works and gets the weight off!!!
good luck, i'm sure you will do well! :)

Welcome aboard Helen :)

My diet is just eating healthier, lots of fruit & water but I am keeping a close eye on Paul McKenna's show & taking a couple of tips from him.
