Did anybody else watch Paul McKenna Will Make You Thin tonight? I am normally quite cynical but everything that Paul McKenna says rings so true, and I love the way he puts everything; it makes you feel really positive about it! His rules make so much sense to me, and it's given me a new boost so I'm really going to go for it tomorrow. :)

Everyone should have their own personal Paul McKenna, lol! :sunny:

Watched this today and tried following the rules this evening! i ate half the amount i have been recently and it tasted so much better for eating slowly :) . i think this may work for me as i have been known to obsess and fail' when i ban foods. :crazy2:

Wow! there's been some great losses so far, good luck to those who are waiting to be weighed. :)

I don't know if anyone else watched celebrity fit club last night? I decided to take the person who is nearest in weight to me, in this case Sharon something from GMTV and 'race' her at weight loss each week, she was given a target of 4lbs to lose so I'll aim for the same, I find its quite motivating to have a regular weigh in and see what tipe etc whe's given when she starts to stall.

I saw it, Im watching any diet prog on at the mo to try and keep me motivated! Thats a great idea Carol, makes it more interesting! :)

Hi Jen, yup pick a celeb and watch their progress!! As I can't go to slimming world or weight watchers etc its like having a group meeting in your house and as everyone seems to have down and up weeks the advice will always be relevant. The celebs weighed between 14stone and 32 stone :scared1: so there will be someone similair to you in it!!

What a great idea Carol, I have sky+ it, so I must tune in and find out who was closest to my weight, its great to have something to motivate you isnt it :sunny:

Sue :cutie:

Well, I weighted in this morning and I have lost 8 lbs. Now, I know that most of it is fluid but, even so, 12 lbs pledged and 8 lost so only 4 to go :)

Well done! :cool1: Only about 3lbs of that is probably fluid so most of the loss is fat!!

How do you calculate what is fluid and what is fat? I weighed last night and was 13st 1lb!!! thats 11lb less than when I weighed at the beginning so how do I know whats fluid? I can't beleive I've lost that much already as I only pledged 10lb for the entire 6 weeks but its really encouraging.

That's funny - mine was exactly the same. I put on 12 lbs over Christmas and lost 8 lbs last week. But I'm not counting that first week as it was just fluid so I put 4 lbs as my target over the next 5 weeks - works out the same in the end. Feels good losing so much though doesn't it???

On a diet the general rule of thumb is that the first 3-4 lbs will be fluid, if you have a really boozy time just before it could be higher tho!

Well I'm exactly the same as last week, but I'm not very well at the moment so i predict that a few pounds will drop off in the next couple of days. Well done to those that managed any weight loss,

Claire xx

Weighed myself yesterday and 2lb lost, slightly below target but we did go on a pub crawl Saturday anf Sarah bought us a shared Kebab and Pizza much to my annoyance. I was so annoyed that I only ate half the kebab and half the pizza ;)

Did go out Saturday night aswell and had a couple of pints and a Special Fried Rice. So what we can gain from this is I wasnt well behaved but lost weight. Not had beer since Saturday and no Red Wine for 2 days so been better this week. :goodvibes

2lb down 12lb to go.

What tips did Paul McKenna give then?
I missed it unfortunately.

Eat only when you are hungry
Only eat what you want not what you think you should
Eat much slower
Stop eating when you are just getting full

Ah - I see. Thanks.

I have printed them off and am sticking them on my fridge along with a picture to motivate myself.
The picture is of a rather large person having trouble getting into her jeans.
