NO ONE OVER 25 IN A BIKINI???????????????????????????????????????

I soooooooooo wish I could post a picture of me, in mine. GOOD GRIEF!!!!

someone who would say that should probably just direct it to themselves...

I am sorry they feel so bad about themselves. thats what it boils down to.

Thats like saying no one over 30 should have a baby!!!

meanwhile, I will be at the Poly in one of my many bikinis next week....

cover your eyes everyone!! I am sooooo old!!

(29)

hahahahaha

Learn how to read. I said:
"IMHO there are VERY few women over 25 who should be in a bikini, let alone a string bikini."

If you're one of the "very few" great for you. But I still stand by my statement.

And for the record, I'm 5' 8" and a size 6. So honey, trust me, I certainly don't feel bad about myself. At all.

Wear whatever you're comfortable in and don't worry what anyone else thinks.

Thanks for all the wonderful advice. You guys are absolutely right. Confidence is key. :)

Thrawn, when you are able to post with fewer than ten errors in spelling or grammar, or without making arbitrary and uneducated comments with no basis in research or statistics, then I will give a flying fig about what you have to say. :) You've been a member for less than ten days which tells me a great deal about you as well. Where's that "Don't feed the trolls" sign? :lmao:

That is exactly what I did, I felt more comfy with shorts and a bahamas t-shirt at CC then a bathing suit! I know I was THE ONLY ONE (as I looked around) in shorts (as it was brutally hot) but I was COMFORTABLE. :goodvibes

... by no means do I look like a Victorias Secret model.

Only Victoria's Secret models look like Victoria's Secret models. And there are what, like, seven VS models on the planet? On top of that, they're airbrushed, have personal trainers, body makeup, and $50,000 lighting to make them look better. On America's Next Top Model Tyra Banks is always talking about how they airbrush out her cellulite.

Nobody should expect to look like a VS model in a bikini. If you are comfortable, happy, and confident, wear what you want!

Does anybody else think this is very much an American debate? I'm an American but I've spent considerable time in Europe where swimsuits are considerably more revealing (or non-existent, in some places). Europeans don't seem to care as much what people look like or if they are being judged because they don't have six-pack abs. They seem much more comfortable and accepting of all body types.

I found a sign too:

I agree with you...that was something we noticed one year we were at WDW. We were at Blizzard Beach one day, and I swear, we were the only Americans there. Everyone else spoke another language or was British. We were marvelling at how comfortable everyone was with their bodies, men and women alike. Americans are constantly bombarded with unrealistic body ideals, and it shows in our confidence.

I feel like everyone should wear whatever they feel comfortable in. When I was 18 and 19 I ALWAYS wore string bikinis. I was thin and comfortable with my body in a bikini. I now generally only wear tankini's because even though I still am confident with my body I feel more comfortable not showing my stomach area. Everyone has a different perspective as many people I know tell me I shouldn't be covering up my body and I should wear a bikini but I don't feel comfortable in them (not to mention I would probably pass out from sucking in all day ;) ). I love a tankini and I think women can and should feel sexy in any type of bathing suit no matter what size they are. The world is too full of women with body image issues.

What I have learned as years as a Personal Trainer, is that all women are unhappy with their bodies, one way or another. It is really a sad state of affairs.

I was talking to a woman at my gym who is in phenomanal shape, the type of body that we all strive to achieve and she actually said to me "What can I do to lean out my legs?" What???? Are you kidding me? This is the woman that everyone else looks to as their goal. And then it hit me like a ton of bricks....

As a woman, we are never happy with our bodies. I think this is really sad. I am 5'3'', 125 lbs, size 6, 33 years old and I have had three children. I work my butt off, eat right, and this is the body I am going to have. Even those that we deem "perfect" are not satisfied.

I have decided that I am going to be happy with the thought that I am healthy, I can run with my boys, I can move my furniture around my house without help, and that I AM A STONG, INDEPENDANT WOMAN....GIGGLY PARTS AND ALL!!!!!

I say, go forth, be happy and enjoy life...it's the only one you get :thumbsup2 .

At Castaway Cay, I actually wore capris over my bathing suit. (I'm more insecure about my lower body than my upper) I swear, I was the only one in pants (not shorts or a bathing suit) I ended up getting so hot, I bought a pair of shorts at the shop.

I'm hearing a lot of comments like you go girl and there's a guy out there who will find you hot.

You know, my wife may feel overweight and I sometimes worry about her health as well as my own, but I love her deeply and cant ever get enough of her physically or emotionally. So I totally agree. You go girl because its how you feel that matters. And if you dont have someone you can find someone who will care for you through thick and thin. I love my wife and still get lost in her smile and her eyes. I know that sounds a little mushy, but that;s the way it is folks.

Aww, Abe! This deserves the Post of the Week Award! How sweet! :cloud9: I am very lucky to have a BF that loves me just as I am and tells me he wishes I felt the same way about myself. I'm learning. princess:

I am 39, had two pregnancies, 5'10" and currently about 138. Not as toned as I would like to be, but I wear a bikini. Sometimes I think maybe I shouldn't. When I get to the water park and see all of the various shapes and sizes in many differernt types of swim suites, I feel much better ;) What the heck! I hate a one piece. My tummy gets too hot in them.

Well, I am 46 and own a 2 million dollar company. I am also a genius who does not need to use spell check. I used to be a Victoria Secret model but decided to devote my time to my company. I still wear those string bikinis but of course go topless in Majorca. ;)

As long as too much of certain things don't hang out, I don't really care what people wear. I myself always hated bikinis even when I was small and I would have never been caught dead in a thong. But to each their own and I guess that even includes Speedos. ;)

Three years ago this month, my sister almost died from anorexia. Whenever I hear women complaining about their weight, I think of her and remember what she and our family went through.

If you are comfortable in a bikini, don't worry about what others think. Just wear it and be happy. :)
