I made an interesting observation. I weigh 212 lbs. I need to weigh around 165, I suspect that is around a size 8, but I am not sure. Currently I wear a size 14, occasionally a 12 depending on the cut. I have heard people saying they really want to be in a 12 and they currently weigh 165 pounds. This implies to me they are currently a size 14 or larger. They are the same size as me and yet weigh 50lbs less!
I thought it might be interesting (for those that are brave enough to admit it) to compare height, weight and clothing sizes.

So me

I am female
5'11"
212 lbs
size 14

You must be all muscle! Seriously, that would explain it. At your weight I wore about a 18-20. At my ideal weight (155-160) I would wear a 12.

It's great though that you can still wear "regular" clothes and not have to shop in the yucky Women's department.

Keep up the good work!

5'7"
160 lbs
Size 10 for the most part with 2 pairs of dress pants which are 12 (and big)

Striving to get to 140 pounds!

I'm 5'4", I weigh 191 and my size depends on the pants... if they are hipsters... I can fit into a 17/18, if they aren't its a 22.

Edit:
Everyone tells me that I'm swimming in my pants (size 22's). But if I get anything smaller I get really bad muffin top. I guess I'm just trying to say my waist is disproportionate to my hips.

Few extra minutes at lunch and I AM still hungry (or at least I think I am) so logging on the public computer at work to let my mind catch up with my stomach. where lo and behold - I see a message from my buddy Raenstoirm

I am 5' 3 1/2" and shrinking I am sure (from "old age):cool1:
165 lbs
size 10-12

I am pretty much in my 10's (AGAIN) but I do have a couple of 12's but they are baggy. When (not IF) I get back to 155 - I should be able to don those size 8 capri's that I WILL be wearing to girl's trip (Vegas - oh yeah with Ohmom (DD-Molli) in June

Totally agree that maker, cut, etc determines the size then there is Chico's where I where maybe a 2 (can't remember for sure CAUSE it is number I would NEVER otherwise be able to wear!)

Hey Bev, hopefully checking in here, has fixed the tummy problem!

As for my muscle tone, I supposed I am. I know I am very strong, stronger than most men I encounter, in fact. Before my doc put a stop to it, I was lifting 100lbs at the gym and I felt like I needed to add more! Hopefully I will be able to get back to weight training soon (have to wait till the doc gives the ok). I have not done any strength training since before Christmas! Despite all that though, I find myself rather flabby. I jiggle and my thighs rub when I run.
But I am working on it! 10 lbs done 50 to go!

I'm 5'3, 150 lbs & size 8. I want to be 120 - 130lbs, size 4 - 6.

I am about like MagicalMom above....

5'2" and at 138 I am just (barely) in my 6s...at 140-145 or so I am a size 8. My goal is 120-125 and that will be a size 4.

212 and a size 14 tells me that you are VERY muscular.

Hallelujah! I found you. And you were right there before my eyes!!!:lmao: :rotfl: ;)

I'm 5'10", huge bones, 229 or so. Shoot I almost put in m before BL weight. Weird, eh? Anyway, I float between a plus 16 and a reg 16. Some of my jeans are 14 but I think that's plus 14.

so 5'10'
229
plus 16 to reg 16, some pants plus 14

165? I could never be 165 or a size 8. My body wouldn't fit my bones. Yuck! I hate that look. I really do. Are you smaller boned Raenstoirm?

I don't know. I'm getting pretty satisfied. Fit. So probably whatever my body ends up to be naturally without any white knucking. My guess is 178- 195. Shoot that's a big guess. :lmao: A size 12/14 regular.

The BMI and charts are a joke for some bodies. My comes in a grossly overweight/obese. There is nothing obese about me. Nada. Even overweight has its moments.

I'm so righted, to use a Jamaican term, in my head about my body image these days I know that I'm fit and meant to be a good size.

Didn't always know that. Probably am overweight too because I couldn't figure out how to "be" at my natural size in a world full of smaller people. It's funny guys get my size and think it's natural and normal. I think it's us women that put these thoughts out as well as advertising and such of course.

When I was 13 I lost weight to be closer to all my girlfriend's look. I recently found those pictures and thought, "yuck doesn't look right on my frame. I look ill". And the sad part is that everyone around me, including myself of course, thought I looked fantastic. We are so bleep with an ed. ;)

Thanks for starting this thread Raenstoirm. And Mama Lisa wants to know if you went to the doctors yet? :rolleyes1

I was 232lbs and size 22-24

I am 5'2". I currently weigh about 125lbs, and wear size 4, generally. Most size 4 tends to be a bit loose. I think that I am also a bit muscular/medium to large boned, because clothing tends to bind at my shoulders/upper arms. Sizes used to be different than they are now. When I got married almost 30 years ago, I wore size 3 to 5, and weighed 100 lbs. Size 5 was very loose around the waist--I would need to wear safety pins to keep my pants up. But, size 3 would barely fit over my hip bones. I could never wear under a size 6 lab coat (even now). Size 6 is loose in the bust, waist and hips, but, size 4 is too tight across my shoulders.

Hey Deliah,

7 pounds to go? Saw your tracker.

Congratualtions. Impressive.

You absolutely cannot compare yourself to anyone. Your size of clothing has more to do with height, weight and other things. It depends on where you carry your weight, your muscle mass, your shape, your bone structure etc.

Right now I wear mostly size 8's a few 10's. When I get down to my normal weight I wear size 4's or 6's. This freaks people out a little when they hear size 4 until they see me and see I'm normal and could still lose a little weight.

I'm short, I have tiny bones - heck my wedding ring is a size 4 or 4.5 (can't remember now - but I know it was 4 something). Even after gaining some of my weight back, my wedding rings fit - so it just means I have a small bone structure.

I'm 5'2"
167.6 pounds (as of this morning)
right now size 8-10

No you absolutely cannot compare one size 12 to another.

I am:
4'11"
small frame
currently 170 lbs
size 12-14 depending on the cut for jeans, my work scrubs are size M (tops and bottoms) tops are still large due to "the girls"

My goal weight is 115 lbs, don't know what size that will be, because I haven't seen it in so long!! But in HS I was 110 and a size 7.

Every body is different and every size is not universal. Height, weight and manufacturer all plays a part in clothing sizes.

At 5'5" and 220+ pounds I wore a 22W, now at 159 pounds I wear a size 12. I think a lot of it also depends on where you carry your weight too. I have a small waist in proportion to my hips and could sometimes wear a smaller size for the waist, but can't because of my hips. I tend to be a medium on top, but sometimes, based on the manufacturer I need a large. So it all depends.

Oh my gosh. I am 4' 11" and 170 right now too. And my ultimate goal weight would be to be 115, although right now, I would be thrilled with anything under 130. BTW: 130 used to be my "fat weight!" I had NO idea back then! :lmao:

Right now I wear a size 14. I really won't get to a size 12 until I get to 160.

When I was 115 I wore a loose size 4. 2s were too tight.

Dawn-

Apparently we are long lost twins!!! How funny we have the exact same stats!!! I am trying really really hard to shed 20 lbs before my cruise in May, so I am back to doing WW hard core and tons of exercise.

I don't remember ever wearing anything size 4, but am looking forward to doing it soon!!!

I'm 5'4''

I used to be almost 200, pear shaped and wear a 20/22 pants and a 16/18 shirt.

Now I'm about 132-134 and I just bought my first pairs of 6 pants today since my 8s were a little lose. I's still pear shaped though, I bet my top half is smaller.

I am 5'5" and weigh 163. I wear a size 12. My goal is to be a size 10 and have it feel a little loose. ;)

Are you doing points or the core foods program?

What are you doing to exercise?

If I could get below 150 I would feel so much better than I do now!
