1) The smaller Wegmans that still exist in the Rochester area surprise me. They don't carry much in terms of what makes Wegmans unique, so I rarely shop at them. Very few prepared foods, virtually no ethnic foods and very little in the organic "section".
2) They were the first grocery store in Buffalo (not sure about Rochester) that offered a pre-made Kosher food department.
3) Their prices can be higher, but shop the loss-leaders and keep track of what's competative, and you'll be good.
4) The babaganoush on their olive bar is the best I've ever had. Then I found out how many calories were in it.....

So much for the budget discipline!
We hit the afternoon crowds. I think most people were a little overwhelmed. Plus, with all the samples given out, there were lots of cart hit and runs going on.
Was just there yesterday. The one I go to is in Princeton, NJ, takes about 20 min to get there. I can literally walk to a Genuardi food store across the street from me, but I do my big food shopping at the Wegmans.
