1) The smaller Wegmans that still exist in the Rochester area surprise me. They don't carry much in terms of what makes Wegmans unique, so I rarely shop at them. Very few prepared foods, virtually no ethnic foods and very little in the organic "section".
2) They were the first grocery store in Buffalo (not sure about Rochester) that offered a pre-made Kosher food department.
3) Their prices can be higher, but shop the loss-leaders and keep track of what's competative, and you'll be good.
4) The babaganoush on their olive bar is the best I've ever had. Then I found out how many calories were in it.....
