Wee Brain teaser.....

The way I see it is that shopkeeper 1 has lost
£50 to shopkeeper 2
£30 pair of shoes
£30 that he should have received for the shoes
£20 that he gave in cash as change

Total = £130

Now to go and lie down in a dark room for little while :headache:

Do youse want the answer Yet !!! lol

My turn:

-30 (shoes)
+50 (note from customer) (+20 total)
-50 (note to shop 2) (-30 total)
+50 (note from shop 2) (+20 total)
-20 (change to customer) (0 total)
-50 (compensation to shop 2) (-50 total)

so - if you count the shoes then the shoe shop loses £50 (£30 shoes, £20 cash). If not then it's just the £20.

I was thinking about this last night in bed, glad i've got the answer now!

Pedant mode, :) Does it really count as a £30 loss to the shopkeeper when he would paid much less for that pair of shoes. The true loss to the shop would be £20 plus the wholesale they'd pay to replace the lost shoes. :laughing:

:lmao: Maybe the shopkeeper had insurance against theft so he didn't actually lose anything. ;)
