The way I see it is that shopkeeper 1 has lost
£50 to shopkeeper 2
£30 pair of shoes
£30 that he should have received for the shoes
£20 that he gave in cash as change
Total = £130
Now to go and lie down in a dark room for little while

Does it really count as a £30 loss to the shopkeeper when he would paid much less for that pair of shoes. The true loss to the shop would be £20 plus the wholesale they'd pay to replace the lost shoes.
