Wedding Organizers/Planners

I'm another binder bride!

I put a mini three-hole punch and lots of clear platic sleeves in mine so I could stick in torn-out magazine pages, printed-out emails, and all the paperwork I got from Disney. I used the tabs that you can write on and erase so I could change sections if I needed to. And I created my own worksheets - lists of all my vendor contacts, a timeline of the wedding-day events, and a place with all my DFTW contact info.

Also, I bought Bridal Bargains by Denise and Alan Fields. They have an organizer and wedding planning book - the book is INVALUABLE when you're shopping for your wedding gown cuz it tells you how not to get scammed. It also saved me $700 on my gown!

They also tell you how to negotiate with vendors like photographers, florists, videographers, etc. You can just skip the chapters on catering and cakes. :thumbsup2

Just wanted to let you know that I brought your picture of the petals on your aisle. They told me they remembered it :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes and they they could not guarantee it would not be a windy day and the petals would not blow all over. I just told them that was ok - I was fine with the amount of petals you had. The price was much better then the $800.00 petal aisle runner they had originally quoted me (about $750.00 better).

Thanks,
Linda

Fabulous! I can't wait to see pictures from your wedding! Then maybe other brides will print them out to put in their wedding binders! :goodvibes

omg you guys.. i must live under a rock... what are these books for?? why would you need them?? how do you use them?? i'm totally freaking out about having to talk to my wp!! i dont even know what toi say other then i like the color black.. ai ai ai:confused:
You are sooo not alone. :) I started looking at the posts here because I am clueless. I feel almost ashamed when I see how organized and together all these ladies are. I only have a planner because my bf sent it to me when I got engaged, back then it looked like a different language. LOL. I am hoping that I can acomplish half of what everyone here has done for their planning.

too funny inked!! :lmao:

I bought "The Anti-Bride Planner" from barnes and noble and I really liked it at first -- it has a lot of really good non-conformist ideas and in fact is where I got the idea to have a photo-booth at our at home reception. I love unique stuff like that and it was perfect for that. Unfortunately, it's smaller than a standard 8x11.5 size paper, which was great at first because I could throw it in my purse and be off, but after I started collecting important papers (contracts, etc) I had to start a binder... so, I'm not sure you actually need an official planner, as much as a place to put all your crap. :rotfl:

good to know! and tell me more about this photobooth!

I can completely understand the whole foreign language thing! lol When I first got my planner I was like "what in the world is a receiving line? why are there so many different wordings for invitations? what are reception cards? why is an honor attendant?!:scared1: " And I was hoping I would get half of what all these other wonderful brides seemed to get done (most notably, Amanda (princessbride), she did hers in like 1/4 of the time!!). But now, with it being only 6 months away from the wedding my planner is over-spilling with pages and info, and I actually understand, and NEED, it all!! It will come, just stick around here..and remember..there is NEVER a stupid question! :thumbsup2

Ok here is my planner that I made with just a 3 ring binder

I used a planner called The Organized Bride by Exclusively Weddings. It came with a binder ,dividers, notepad with calculator, and the most important a large tote that still use today. I bought it when I got engaged in 2003 and that tote goes with me everywhere.
