Webcast incentives - Vacation as you wish update

I got the very same line. The contract closed. The sale was supposed to be for new members. He wouldn't even entertain the fact that I should be able to apply what I've paid to a new 500 point contract. He wouldn't let me have the $1850 difference in what I paid versus new members. He wouldn't do anything. And in fact I am really, really upset. I was the biggest supporter of the newest incentives and now I feel very, very, foolish.

I also paid $96 instead of $91. I called my guide and was told that since my contract closed last night, there was nothing that could be done.

I went from feeling very happy when I bought to very upset now. If you contract hasn't closed I would push them on it.

I do wonder though if my contract has in fact really closed or was I fed a line to get me to go away.

What defines 'closing'??:confused3 - Have you returned contracts AND paid for everything??

Yes, and according to my guide they were recorded already as well. That is except for one 100 point contract that was written incorrectly. He couldn't give me the new pricing even on that contract since it was only for 100 points.

I paid $96 per point. The new rate is $91 per point. I paid $1850 more than the folks that got notified by their guides of the webinar. I am not happy. What bothers me most is that the other sales incentive is still in place. The one that gives $14 off the add on of 200+ points. So I paid more than is currently being offered to others and that is inherently not fair or ethical.

Just playing Devil's advocate here, but let's say this webcast was June 16th (after the current incentives expire) prices for BLT go to $106, and the webcast offer was $101 per point.

Would you be willing to right a check to DVC for $5 per point ? Or would you be feeling like :woohoo: I only paid $96. As I mentioned in another post I don't like that two people buying the same thing can be charged something different, but I also know that there are very few things in life that offer you a free look-back option. Look at the resale market, some people buy the same amount of points at the same resort but end up paying a different $$/pt basis.

I am sorry that your new DVC purchase is now soured for you a bit. But this happens all the time, every time DVC changes incentives.

When they changed the incentives April 1st to the $96.00 per point for contracts of 200+ at BLT (125+ for existing members), there were many new members who had closed just weeks before that who paid $107.00 per point with matching DP's--not as good.

So, even though your deal is not as good as the one offered through the webcast, it is better than some of the deals that went through 6 months ago. There are always going to be ones who get a better deal.

I guess you're right. It just stung for a little while there. Bottom line there is nothing they can or will do. So I'll be happy I bought when I saved a little money and not when the price was not discounted at all. :upsidedow

My guide mentioned that he had members who flew out to CA to buy Orlando points there because they were so much less expensive during a promotion they were having there.

Are there any locations on the East Coast where this same phenomena is happening? My guide mentioned Boston, does that ring a bell for anyone? Anyplace else? Thanks

I'll be in Branson, and Southern CA, this year, anything new for those locations?

And I think people are forgetting that the webcast was an invitation, for prospective new owners only. It was never intended for current members and was specific to BLT. The only reason I got in was because I signed up from the email that was posted on this site.

I am still using the incentive with the referral instead of the one on the webcast becaust the cruise is more valuable to me than the point discount. We have been talking about doing a cruise and the 7 days cruise that we get with the referral is a better deal with the higher price per point than the discount was from the webcast.
