... in February when it was in the 80s and in the 60s all in the same week!!! It's one of those times of the year that you need to bring lots of light layers that you can either add on to or remove as necessary. The first time I went (in 2000), it was in the upper 70s and sunny every day. In 2001, it was in the 80s and sunny every day. In 2002 it was all over the place weather-wise (though we went a bit earlier in Feb. that year). We'll be going the 12th-16th in 2004, so I sure hope it will be another 80s-and-sunny week for us!! Usually the Farmers Almanac predicts the weather pretty accurately, I've found... Does anyone out there have the 2004 book by chance??!!??
We were there last year at that time and are going again this year for the same week. We wore light pants(capris are great for the ladies) or shorts during the day and jeansor sweatpants and sweatshirts at night if cooler. Most nights were so we brought them with us in a backpack if we weren't going back to the hotel in between. We had very little rain.I only remember one night of rain that lasted a couple of hours.
Ok, a mix of clothing it'll be. I'm sure no matter how the weather is, it'll be so much nicer than here. With the windchill it's -41 at the moment, we're starting to get into the kind of cold that keeps you indoors.
We're going then too! I think the weather will be great. I chose the February break over the April break for the weather. I'd much rather be on the sunny but not HOT side.
Wonder how the crowds will be? Perhaps people who read the guidebooks will avoid President's week. A friend of mine went two years ago and said it wasn't that bad.
For me it means only using 4 of my vacation days and not having to take my child out of school compared to having to take 4 vacation days anyways in February plus another 5 days during another time of the year. Besides it will make winter go by much quicker with all the suspense of waiting for 2/15/04!
February is a great time of year to be in WDW but it is a packing nightmare! We went a few times in February because it is Mardis Gras here in Louisiana and the kids have 3 days out of school. I brought both summer and winter clothes and used them all---including swimsuits one year. We wear mostly jeans and short-sleeved T-shirts and are fine. Like someone mentioned, we layer and bring jackets for the evenings! Good luck!
We were there last year and the crowds were not bad. I was surprised because I was expecting it to be much worse from what the quide books say. I thought it was alot less crowded than the times we went in the summer. And being without the heat and humidity made it delightful.
We have been in Florida for many many years in Feb. I have home movies of me on my 4th Birthday at Silver Springs (taken more than 50 years ago). One thing I have learned Feb can be anywhere from 30-90 degrees. However, it is my favorite time to go and break up the Canadian Winter. Currently 4 degrees F. Usually a sweatshirt or jacket is in order in evening. And yes we will be there in 2004 for my birthday (FEB 1) until March 7. I wish I knew how many trips this will make but missed a few when a teen ager but not many other years.
