I am starting to think about packing for our October trip. We will be there October 18-25 and will be attending MNSSHP one night. What is the weather usually like for this time of year? This is the first time we'll be going during the fall so I am totally unprepared!!! We're also trying to decide on costumes for MNSSHP and we don't want to sweat to death while we're there. DH has a Jack Skellington costume but afraid it will be too hot. HELP!!:scared:

I'm sure this won't help, but . . . it totally depends. We almost always go in October and the weather has varied a lot. But realize that it can be very hot (90s) and humid. I've also gone when it has been in the 80s and not quite as humid.

If I were you, I'd check the 10-day forecast once you get close to your trip, and go from there.

;) Shorts, capris, t shirts--you will not be cold or even all that cool.:cutie:

Yeah, the weather down here at that time is perfect actually. High 80s in the day, high to low 70s at night. The rain is not as much of a factor as say July-Sept. You will have a great time. They really do it up nice!
:wizard:

We are also going in October 21-28. I find that accueather.com is a great website that give 15 day advance weather updates. It is pretty accurate.

I have been to Disney World in October 7 times. And the while the weather is usually hot, we have had days where it was pretty darn cold too. You really need to pack a little of everything.

As far as Halloween costumes go, it is a hard call. A couple of years ago we were all set to be a basketball team. We made tee shirts with our team name on them, and we all had basketball shorts. The day of the party dawned, and it was so cold! We ended up buying fleece jackets, and our shorts went unworn. And that week started with the temperature in the lower 90's. So you just never know for sure what the weather will be like in October.

Don't trust any weather forecast more than 24 hours out. The weather changes all the time...we are still in hurricane season until the end of November...don't forget that.

We are going to be there from Oct 19th-25th...we have visited in Oct and Dec before...and I am always sweating! I live in NY so my body isn't used to the heat at all...so Floridian's were walking around with pants and t-shirts and my family was in shorts and tanks.

We are going in Oct again this year and it has always been nice (generally) before. It does vary a lot - some days we can swim and some days we need a light jacket!

I must be jinxed if it's always warm in October! We went last year for 4 days right before Halloween and it wasn't even swim weather. I didn't see the sun for 3 days in a row and we didn't wear any of the shorts we brought. We swam once just to say we used the pool! I know that was atypical weather but I learned to always check the forecast right before we leave.

We've always gone in October. We did hit a hurricane 3 years ago, but in general its nice temperatures and less crowdy !

We've gone in October for the last 7 years and the weather has always been very nice. Not much rain, 80's during the day and sometimes...SOMETIMES....the need for long sleeves early morning or later in the evening. For the most part, the days can get pretty hot, but not as humid as summertime. Yes, its still hurricane season, but its on its way out. We've never had a problem.

we went to mnsshp last october (the 16th) and it was still really warm even when we left at 12 and the whole two weeks there was really nice x
