Trying to stay positive and realize it's 2 weeks out until our trip. Looking at the weather report for the week of Oct 3rd-10th doesn't look great. Hoping it will change or just be typical Florida weather and maybe just have a shower here and there. We are looking so forward to this trip, we haven't been to WDW in 4 years. Praying to the weather Gods..:worship: :scared:

Us, too! We haven't been since July 2010. We'll be there the week before you. I bought a 20 pack of disposable rain ponchos on Amazon for about $20, along with a water resistant backpack. I'm thinking I'll need it!

this will be our first trip in the fall...we usually go in April.
Looks like occasional showers/tstorms which is pretty normal for Florida and they usually dont last all day.
at least thats what I'm going to believe as I like to try and stay optimistic!

I was there last week with a 60-80% chance of rain forecasted every day. It rained until 3:00 on my arrival day, so I put on my flip flops and my poncho and went to Downtown Disney. The next day - no rain. Tuesday (party day) it sprinkled for an hour in the afternoon. Wednesday it rained for an hour or 2 in the afternoon, I hung out in the land pavillion for a while and then just put on my poncho and hit the World Showcase. Thursday there were a few sprinkles but not enough to bother with the poncho. Friday was beautiful.

You can't believe even the day of forecasts. Just take your poncho every day in case!

I'm a Nervous Nelly when it comes to that stuff! LOL We always go in October but this will be our first time going the first week. All our other trips have been the last week of October and the weahter was absolutely gorgeous! Hoping it will change since it's about a week and a half away!

Try not to worry about it. It's very unpredictable. We were there in August, and while it rained a bit, not like I was expecting. I think there was a 60% chance every day. And it rained three times in our eight days.

We leave tomorrow and it looks like rain everyday for us too! I didn't buy any ponchos, so it looks like I need to add it to the list!

DO NOT look at weather forecasts until 2 days before you leave.
Like biondagirl said, we went in August and they called for 60% chance of rain every day, and it rained 4 out of 8 days and even those were not washouts. It rained for a couple of hours and stopped.

ANY weather report more than a few days out are pointless. No sense worrying about it.

I went in August and it rained ... check that THUNDERSTORMED ... every afternoon or evening. Still did a lot .. and still had a good time simply because it was just a downpour of rain for 2-3 hours. Luckily it was usually around a meal time, but still disrupted some of our plans. We were prepared with ponchos (from Walmart purchased ahead of time) and a small towel, and had to deal with a wet stroller a bit, but after the rain passed the evenings were beautiful.

Just wait until the day before .. see what weather forecast is for the next day and plan accordingly (aka --- bring ponchos)

If I were you I'd worry more about that HORRIBLE crowd that will roll in on you your last few days. Rain may be your best friend, you may want to turn that frown upside down about that forecast and pray for rain. Columbus Day Weekend crowds are worse than Spring Break crowds. I've never seen WDW so busy, personally.

It's hurricane season, it's Florida it's most likely going to at least have a short afternoon shower at least one afternoon you are there. There might be one every day, there might be one in Epcot and not in HS. I always go late August or September (going next week) and I always take either a poncho/rain coat or umbrella every day. It rains, I put on said rain gear or open said umbrella and go about my business, maybe jumping in a puddle if no one is in the splash zone. Wear clothing that drys quickly, take more than one pair of shoes so you can switch out the next day, enjoy being a kid again and playing in the rain. If you are going to F&W, I suggest a poncho or rain coat instead of umbrella, its hard as heck to hold that umbrella, a plate and eat at the same time. Also wear some sort of ball cap under your poncho hood, helps keep the rain off your face and holds the hood on better (I actually put my cap on outside my hood cause I own a lot of them and I'm just weird enough to do it).

We've been the last week of October and it only rained one day!:thumbsup2 granted, it's literally came down in buckets:umbrella::umbrella: when I was getting dressed to go to V & A Chef's table! Good thing my dress wasn't dry clean!;) We will be there from 10/11 to 10/23 this year and have invested in some travel size umbrellas and poncho's:umbrella:...heard from a lot of people who live there to get ready for some wacky weather. The only thing that gets to me is the HUMIDITY! I feel like a sweaty, drowned RAT!:P

We have found that the Darksky app is great for Florida visits. It gives a very accurate short term forecast for your immediate location. It was helpful when planning to know "heavy rain ending in 20 minutes" or "no precipitation in the area" when it looked like it could pour any moment. I didn't rely on any other forecasts because it could be raining in EPCOT and sunny in MK, gotta love that Florida weather.

2 weeks out?? We had weather reports that turned out wrong DAY OF on our trip last week.
