I love water rides, but absolutely hate getting wet! I know there are others out there like me. I thought about trying to wear a poncho on the water rides. Has anyone out there tried it ~ did it keep you dry?? My first trip to Universal is in 13 days!!!!!!

You could probably stay dry on Dudley but I don't think even a poncho would keep you dry on Popeye's.

how about wearing your bathing suit and when you know you are done with the water rides, change your clothes. thats what we are thinking of doing on our trip in a few weeks. i wonder if your allowed flip flops or water shoes on these rides, i absolutely hate wet shoes more than anything.

A ton of people wear flip flops or water shoes. However, I don't believe they allow just bathing suits. I would suggest wearing a light pair of shorts and then bringing a change of clothers. THe ponchos can help on all the rides. I wore one recently on Popeye and everything but the top of my head stayed relatively dry. I actually got more wet on Dudley...DARN THOSE WATER BLASTERS!!!!!!

yeah dudley can get u pretty wet even with a poncho becasue of just all of those freakin water blasters
popeye is a ride to make u drenched but as kgilchri said it shouldn't be that wet with a poncho
when it comes to jurassic park...if u guys go on it..... a poncho isn't neccessary as u do not get nearly as wet as on anything at toon lagoon its mainly to experiance the 85 foot fall
feel free to ask about any other rides:teeth:

Agree! If you wear a big hat on Popeye it helps a lot. On both rides keep your feet up. On Popeye you can put your shoes in the middle and they will stay dry.

I think a poncho is a must, especially for Popeye. I also used mine on Jurassic Park and Dudley. I kept relatively dry on the last two, but my shorts were soaked on Popeye. The poncho I had (cheap type from Dollar store) was not long enough! I also wore strap on sandals and that works well. I would not recommend running shoes and socks!

I find the best ponchos at the dollar general or dollar tree store, two per paco for a buck!!! tuck the poncho under your bottom to stay dry, hold your feet up and have fun!!!! :flower: :flower:

If you really want to stay dry on Popeye and you don't mind looking like a dork, you wear a poncho on the top and when you get into the raft, you slip a plastic garbage bag up over your bottom half. It's not the coolest fashion statement in the world, but it works. On the other rides, just wear the poncho. I bought ponchos at the dollar store before we left for 2 for $1. Much cheaper than buying then at the park.

I can see I'm not the only one who dislikes that wet, soggy feeling after a water ride!

DH actually used his rain jacket on top and put his legs through the poncho - like a long skirt/diaper. He looked weird, but after the ride I was the only one with wet shorts!

When we know we are going to do the water rides we just bring a change of clothes and rent a locker. There's no sure way to not get wet. May as well have fun with it!
