Direct Add On Now 25 pt Min on all Resorts!

Good to know. I currently have 200 in one UY and 150 (divided 50/100) in another, but was thinking of picking up 25-50 in yet a 3rd year (I have 4, oops)…sounds like I should focus on the UY with 150 in case I ever decide to sell part of that 150. Thank you for the warning.

Honestly, I’m shocked DLR didn’t release a Club 33 high end designer collaboration line for the 70th anniversary — they should hire you!
No problem! It's good to be informed when making possible exit strategies or consolidation plans.

Disney merchandise!? That would be a dream job! :cloud9:

Or hear me out.. its new members who bought in thinking they would stay in studios are now realizing that cheap studios can be hard to get so they want to up their points have more flexibility at other more expensive resorts or other room types. Although 25 wont move the needle too much on getting a 1 bed but it could in a bank/borrow scenario.
I think this is it. Guides probably heard lots of cries from guests that need a few more points because the charts shifted or they need to upgrade a room view. Plus 25 points is an all cash purchase. No financing. It seems like easy quick money!

😂 We are still early in life even though it doesn't always feel like it. I need to get you in contact with my wife so she can hear that LV bags and Hermes and whatever won't bring her happiness 🤔. Kidding kidding, for all I put her through she deserves it and she's never been the type to be extremely materialistic so I'm grateful she's let me buy the amount of DVC points we have instead of buying designer clothes/bags with it
This sounds like a very happy relationship, the most valuable asset of all! In all seriousness, if I was giving any advice to a younger version of me, it would be travel more, do stuff that is less fun with kids (Maldives, fancy restaurants in Europe, etc.) or hard to do in old age (river rafting, safari). You’re never too old for another handbag. 🤪
I think money and things can both make you happy, but his approach to indulging and appreciating his spouse is probably even better for long term happiness.

This is us— thought we’d be ok with studio, started leaning into 1bd, now I want to add more BCV to stay in 2Bd on longer trips….maybe I’ll just pawn one of my rarer handbags, lol.

Thoughts on the original discussion:

When CCV opened, the minimum to be eligible for Membership Extras was 25 points. (Although, to be completely technical and specific, the verbiage never said "25." It just says you must own an ownership interest purchased from DVD. This exact verbiage remains in the last sentence of the disclaimer paragraph).
By making the miminum for CCV 50 points, I think that was DVCs first attempt in the direction to try and ensure that future Membership Extra eligible members owned a larger direct contract. Let's be honest-- the thought that they would actually count the total of your direct points wasn't even a thought in our minds back then. Access to benefits was just a straight yes or no "do you own a direct contract?" Not until less than a year later did they implement the 75pt policy. So in a way, the minimum to get Membership Extras actually went 25/(sorta)50/75/100/125/150.

If the original intent and purpose of an add-on is to buy a small contract at your home resort to be able to get a larger room or if you're a few points short-- then it was definitely unfair to CCV/RIV/VDH owners to have to buy 50. The 150 requirement patched that loophole.
