Day 5: 1900 Park Fare Breakfast and Animal Kingdom!!!

The Cat’s one meal request was 1900 Park Fare Breakfast with Alice, The Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh and Tigger. It was supposed to be all of us – but since AK was the ONE park Belle, Beast and Lightening were going to they ”wanted to get as much in as possible”. Well you crazy people that is why you don’t do ONE park!!!! So 11 of us for breakfast – everyone LOVED the monorail. Our photo before breakfast was really nice so we got two copies – although I didn’t like the new package - $29.95 for a 5x7 in a cardboard frame with no smaller ones. Breakfast was great of course and everyone ate until I thought we would bust!!!

The usuals were present and the interaction was great as always but I HAVE to mention that Mad Hatter – he made the day!! What a HOOT!!!

After our YUMMY breakfast we boarded a bus to AK. I texted Belle who said they were just getting ready to eat lunch at the Rainforest Café. When we arrived they were still eating, so we decided to go to the 1:30pm showing of the Festival of The Lion King. It was a little crazy – they have a FP now for the show – didn’t figure out how that could be possible. We didn’t need one but Tow Mater who was in his scooter had to get out to sit on a bench because they were out of room for ECVs. This was a problem because he cannot see well and of course it is dimly lit in there – took both Animal and Simba to safely get him to a seat – yes he had to park the ECV and THEN sit. Would not have bothered me but about four additional ECVs came in and the people were allowed to park and sit on them.

Anyway – everyone LOVED the show!!! Those Monkeys are amazing!!

After the show the texting war began. I had told Belle F of LK was over at 2p and we would meet them at Kilamanjaro Safaris after. At 2:02p she is texting where are we? REALLY!?!?!?!?! I say we are leaving the show and on our way. Well of course we had to stop to get the stoller – after getting TM back in his scooter – then we needed to potty not to mention Camp Mickey Minnie is not close to Africia!!!!! Eeyore took my phone and told Belle to just wait – Belle listens to her!!

The safari – AWESOME – we knew that but of course we were excited the others enjoyed it! Even Beast enjoyed it and could not believe how close those animals could get!!

Next we decided to take the train to Planet Watch – it go a little hairy on the train because we were all split up and Beast took Lightening with him without anyone else knowing – lost child is not good – but alas he was fine!! Animal, Snow, Ariel, the Cat, Simba, TM, Lightening and I went into see the animal encounter which was a SNAKE!!! All three of the kids touched it!! The animal care center is always of interest to me and the girls liked it as well.

We all headed back to the mainland and decided to go our separate ways. There was some riding, some eating and I took TM and Eeyore to the Tree of Life – my absolute favorite place!!

TM was starting to get tired so I headed them to the exit and went to the dig area to gather Animal and the girls. We decided to head out and on the way met up with Tink and the Fairy Godmother. We didn’t wait long for a bus. Got seated and pulled out just as the rest of the crew said they were at the bus stop. Just then it starts DUMPING down rain!! I’m texting back and forth to Belle and she is saying there is no rain at AK – we are laughing so hard….only in FL!!!

So eventually we all get back. We decide on Giordano’s for dinner. YUM!! We love their thin pizza – and then it was time to turn in – we are too tired for anymore fun!!

Next up our final day of family fun!!!

I give you credit, 2 years ago there were 10 of us, and I thought that was crazy...Last year we dwindled it down to 8 and this year only the 3 of us are going in September. It should be more enjoyable..but I will admit, I think I will miss the array of "comedy shows" that come with having such a large group. You know at any given point, someone is always doing something that eventually you sit back and laugh at..

How'd you like OKW? We stayed at BWV this past trip and while it was nice after our one night at ASMU the parking is too far out with a rental car. I think that we'd enjoy OKW.

We had breakfast at 1900PF last trip too, and the Mad Hatter is MAD

One of our favorite things about SSR and OKW is how close we can park!!! We were lucky at BCV when we were there to have the room farthest from EVERYTHING but the parking lot!!!! but I have read that the parking at others can be a slight hike.

This was out second stay at OKW and was have only stayed in the HH booking cat - we LOVE it!!! The views are beautiful, the pool is awesome - Animal, Snow, Beast, Belle and Lightening spent a great deal of time on that slide. Olivia's has great food and a beautiful atmosphere and my whole fam thought Good's to GO was GREAT!!! Hey we are simple people and burgers and fries make us happy!!

The other thing you can't beat at OKW is the size - much larger than other DVCs and with a FULL size washer and dryer - it is really great!! The balcony is Animal's favorite because there is a real table and chairs - we used that a great deal for family dinners and Animal went out every evening to read or just take in the view!!!

I should say I tend to be very positive about our rooms/experience and although there were some small issues with the other rooms - leaky toilet/ dripping faucet - those were taken care of immediately. We were not in one of the newly renovated rooms so I imagine some of that will be worked out with upgrades - I just hope they don't take out the washers/dryers!!!

Day 6: Our last day together and a tour by the MOUSE himself!??!?!?!?

So it was Friday and this was everyone’s full day so everyone had their things they were going to do. Simba and the Cat were going to Universal. Animal, Snow White Ariel and I were going to MK and the remaining crew were going to DTD. The four of us did not have enough time in our favorite park and had MANY things we wanted to do. We didn’t make it to rope drop but were still pretty early.

There was no line at the teacups so we rode there and ALICE WAS RIDING!!! Now we have seen her doing Meet & Greet many times near the teacups but this is the first time I have seen her get on the ride!! The people she rode with were VERY happy!!! Next we decided to go to the rope for ToonTown. Ariel was so upset that her favorite – Ariel – was visiting King Triton under the sea (Yay me!!! For coming up with a viable excuse to calm my crying baby – who would not get refurbishment!) When she calmed down Mickey and Minnie were on the top of her list. So we saw the sign that said the rope would open ToonTown at 10a. When we got there one of the people already there said they were going to open at 9:45a so we hopped in line right at the rope. The CMs started asking who was their for the Princesses, the Fairies and then Mickey. Most of those near the front were Fairy fans but it was fun because we had awesome CMs!! So they had some helpers who threw confetti to open ToonTown then we all walked in an orderly fashion to ToonTown.
It was NUTS as we neared County Bounty everyone veered off…. It was then I noticed Mickey on his front porch – I thought how neat he came out to say hi!! Well we were the first ones to see him – yes I had to tell the girls not to run – because they saw him and took off!!!Well the CM with Mickey says – how many are in your party and Animal had gone to park the stroller and I was totally flabbergasted – they roped everyone else off and we got a guided tour of Mickey’s house by MICKEY!!!!!

Then we were lead back through the Judge’s Tent by MICKEY with my two babies holding his hands!!!!

To the meet and greet area where MINNIE was waiting – I WAS IN AWE!!!I could not function – I could not get the hats out to autograph or the camera I was giggling like I was 10 yrs old!!!!

So we got out photos with Mickey and Minnie and went out and around to get in line for the Princesses – only a 15 minute wait – the sign only said Cinderella and Belle – we had seen Belle (blue dress) in EPCOT – Snow was disappointed because she wanted to see Aurora – when we got there all three were there. From there we rode Goofy’s and then played in the play area a little – we had such a fun morning and were still SOOOO excited!!

So it was time to exit ToonTown and we decided to hop the train to Frontierland so Animal and Snow could get Fast Passes for BTM. Then we went to ride the Magic Carpets which had the LONGEST line I have ever seen – still not like Dumbo but still this was always the ride Ariel and I would do over and over while Animal and Snow rode BTM!!! So after getting off we notice Jasmine and Alladin and get in line for their autograph.

We decided after it was time for lunch and we found a table at el pirate y el perico and ate. Animal and Snow took off for their FP and Ariel and I finished lunch then went to meet them. We strolled around amazed at the crowds – we have visited at this time of year for the last three years in a row and WOW was it busy!!!! So we headed over to Tomorrowland to do Buzz and the Laugh Floor – at that point everyone was tired and hot and I had dinner to make for the fam!!!

Tink meet us when we got back and offered to take Snow and Ariel to the pool while I made dinner – oh yes please take them!!!

I had made macaroni salad the night before – so it was ready I had also cut up some veggies for a salad and toppings. So I had to make the burgers and hot dogs. Our original plan was to use one of the grills but did not realize that they were only at the quiet pools – so I baked the burgers and dogs in the oven. We had a beautiful little courtyard outside of our rooms where Minnie, Eeyore and Belle smoked and we all hung out in the evenings after the kids went to bed. So we decided to relax there and in our room on the balcony. Everything came out great for this dinner. They funniest thing was the Fairy Godmother locked her key in her room as she was leaving to come to our room so she was chastising herself!! Then she was amazed that the CM came to open it would not take any money from her!! After dinner we all met in the little courtyard for our family photo!

Animal, Snow, Ariel, Belle, Beast, Lightening and I went to the pool after dinner to relax. Simba, the Cat and Tink went to meet Tink and the Cat’s cousin who lives in the area. TowMater, Eeyore, Minnie and the Fairy Godmother were going to EPCOT to sample beer around the world and see Illuminations – in all of our trips we have NEVER seen this and I was JEALOUS!!! We laughed because Minnie said it was parents and grandparents time!!! We said bye to Minnie before she left as she, Belle, Beast and Lightening had 5:52AM date for the ME back to MCO!!! We swam until we were so tired I really didn’t think we would make it back to the room.

There we said goodbye to Belle, Beast, and Lightening. They were so thrilled and thanked us so many times for the trip – they even said they would like to come back – which shocked me then Beast said he would like to see the other parks and I almost fell over!!! We may not have created WDW NUTS like us but they enjoyed themselves enough to return and even asked about paying for their own rooms and how much it would cost!!! Belle laughed because she said they should have never stayed with us first because she will not be able to stay in a value or moderate!!! Maybe not a WDW NUT but a WDW snob!!!

I LOVE the picture of Mickey taking your two girls by the hands. That is a priceless and precious moment. I am so happy you experienced it. Sounds like everything worked out in the end for a wonderful time as a family. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride.
