A Morning of Mania!!!
March 7, 2012
The alarm went off bright and early on this our last Disney park day. 6:30 because there is no time for sleeping got to cram cram cram. DISNEY DISNEY DISNEY!!!
We got up and got ready, putting on our matching T-Shirts, I texted Bobby to let him know we were up and moving and that the shirt I had bought was a little on the tiny side (usually I like my t-shirts big and loose but he decided to pick me up a child’s medium)
We opened the door to see one of the saddest sights to behold in all of Disney World
Yep magical express mail isn’t as fun when you are leaving as it is when you get those yellow tags.
We left the room after chucking that back in on the table and pretending like we had never seen it haha.
In case you can’t tell from the title we were headed over to…
We were on the bus at 8:11 and the park opened at 9:00 but we were hoping to get let in early like the last time!!! The good thing about the All-Stars is that they are like 10 minutes away from my favorite park <3 Closer to my real love The Tower of Terror <3 haha
We arrived and got in line and I took a picture of one of my favorite Mickeys
We got in line with everyone else, no getting in early this morning but it was ok because the crowds weren’t too bad.
First thing we did? Head straight to Toy Story Mania with everyone else of course!!!
Fastpass baby, as you can see from the fine print by my thumb this was the first day that Disney would “not be able to accommodate late arrivals” I took a picture on it on my iphone and sent it to facebook to let the world know that they weren’t joking around.
We got in line and waited it out in the stand by because it was basically a walk on. That’s the good thing about being such a small group you can maneuver the crowds really easily unlike the group of 8 I am use to traveling with, someone is always getting lost.
Yay Toy Story!!!
Of course this happiness wouldn’t last for long because the competition was about to begin!!!
Ham would be taking us through this exciting ride this time around
This time between rounds I took a picture every time to prove to Andy that the only reason he wins is because I flop out on the last two rounds. My arm just gets sore and numb and I can’t push through haha. But I’ll save you the pictures and just let you know that I was in the lead until the very end!!! But, as always, Andy won…
From there we followed the usual game plan and darted over to TOWER OF TERROR!!! In case you didn’t already know, I kind of like this ride… just a little haha
BUT IT WAS CLOSED?! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that seemed to be a trend this trip it was always broken.
So we settled for Rock n’ Roller coaster
Don’t let the smile fool you I was crushed on the inside
but then I remembered I was in Disney so I got over it pretty quickly. If you look closely in the background of this picture you will see my least favorite part of this ride… The Marble Doors. Oh my goodness I have never heard anything more annoying in my life then when children play with these, and then their parents get in on it and then everyone wants a shot at it and man snowball effect. I have yet to make it through there without hearing the marbles.
This ride on RnR I discovered something amazing. Riding the ride without holding on!!! I can’t even really remember what made me do this in the first place, I think it’s the fact that Andy holds on for dear life at the take off and I wanted to show him up. So I rode the whole thing without holding on and I will never hold on again. It is literally the coolest sensation!!!
Anyways, after that crazy ride we decided to see if Tower of Terror (<3) was open and IT WAS!!! Yippie skippie
So we went on and on the way out I stopped to trade my Vinylmation and wouldn’t ya know who I ended up getting…
My favorite in the whole world…
Big Baby!!! Just kidding this one CREEPS ME OUT
After that we got some fastpasses so we could visit my favorite hotel again later.
My fastpasses still aren’t letting me arrive late. Something’s gotta be wrong here.
We bolted as fast as we could down Hollywood Blvd. to a shop that I knew had a box for me to trade Big Baby. That’s the best part, once you get to trading you know where all the boxes are!!!
Sorry Big Baby but you have got to go. It’s not you, it’s me....
When we got in the store there was actually a line for people who wanted to trade. In this store they had a clear box and a mystery box. I had decided that I wanted one of the ones from the clear box BUT THEN the person in front of me changed my mind. They had decided that they wanted to trade this beauty
Blue Monorail!!! Why you would give away a monorail is beyond me but no ones mad because now he is sitting on my dresser at home FOREVER, not giving that one away.
Since I didn’t want to give it away I had to buy another one for the remainder of the trip. While I was checking out Andy traded one of his pins to get an Ariel one for me because he knows how much I love her.
Isn’t he precious
YAY MONORAIL!!! You get a thumbs up and you can see the new one tucked away under my arm
We went to sit on a bench really fast so that I could open it and see what I got. I made sure to buy one from the collection that had the 25th anniversary one that I had spotted earlier in the same store but no luck getting it.
Look Andy I’ve got two vinlymations!!!
I ended up with an EPCOT one that I really liked but was all over the parks so I knew I wouldn’t feel bad trading it.
I really like the colors on it though. Very Disney.
From there Andy was feeling a little munchy so I decided to take him to a special place…
Starring Rolls Café, a few years back I got this kid hooked on red velvet when I was watching cupcake wars and decided to make a red velvet cake. He was hesitant to eating it at first, as you recall from the trip reports he is not an adventurous eater by any means. He tried it and loved and can’t get enough of it now haha.
I looked around the little store to see if there was anything else that caught my eye but I knew we were eating lunch soon so I decided to pass.
The towering cupcake that we both couldn’t wait to try!!!
Opinions?: I wasn’t really a fan of it, at all actually. I was so sad I kept eating it thinking maybe the next bite will be better but then I left it to Andy to finish up. The cake itself was pretty good but there was just too much frosting!!! It was a mountain of cream cheese frosting surrounded in butter cream with some kind of butter finger crunchies on it that I really DID NOT LIKE. So long story short Andy at almost the entire thing what I did eat I scraped the frosting off of. I’ll stick to Sci-Fi for my red velvet.
After that we decided to head over to Midway Mania to use our fastpasses the best part about this is that we were basically double fastpassed. We went in the fastpass line and then we got to go through the double rider line. SCORE!!!
Wheezy would be our guide this time through. Still have yet to get a Bo Peep car. I can’t wait for the day when that happens (not like it matters but maybe she will be good luck for me!!!)
And wouldn’t you know when the final scores came in I still wasn’t anywhere close to winning.
Haha what a fail.
It was then that I noticed this little button for what I assume is closed captioning and I just thought that that was really neat. Not sure why but I was really amused with it how thoughtful Disney is!!!
From there we went in search of food and by in search of I mean I knew exactly where we were headed…
Tune In Next Time!!!
