We love Donald Duck, oh yes we do! - Link to the PTR - COMPLETE

Sounds like a great ride on ToT - I love that ride! :woohoo: Can't wait to hear about Beaches & Cream. I wanted to go there last trip but never made it. Just another reason to go back! :cool1:

I think TOT has gotten tamer. I remember riding 10 years ago or so and it had more drops and the seemed to drop further. Maybe we got just a milder "random" ride this time. I also thought in the "old" days that before it dropped you sat at the top for quite a bit just waiting, but this time it seemed to drop with almost no wait.
Claire rode and said she liked it.

That was so nice of you and the CM to get those people on the ride. You got paid back in triplicate for your kindness. Sounded like loads of fun.

MMMMM Beaches and Cream. Can't wait.

I was pleasnatly surprised when the CM let them in...she was really sweet - and I'm sure that guy's humor could win just about any one over!

What a great day at DHS! I am so glad that those fastpasses provided such a great experience. I think you had more fun than you would have had with us on the ride! :goodvibes

I would of loved riding with you two! It would have been just as memorable...just not quite as silly probably! :rotfl: It was a great ride, recalling the memories bring a big grin to my face. I'm pretty certain I would have skipped it if we didn't have the FPs - we were at the end of our day and just drained and wouldn't have wanted to wait for so long. Your kindness of sharing the FPs gave me such a great memory!

Great update!

Your ride on TOT sounds like alot of fun. I can't wait to ride but admit I am scared! My mom who is the biggest chicken rode it when she went years ago so I have to ride, can't be shown up by my chicken mommy.

Can't wait to hear about Beaches N' Cream. I really really want to try the ice cream there!

You can do it!!! :thumbsup2 It really is a FUN ride. They really egg up the spooky stuff before the drop and I think that is scarier than the drop! The drop is exciting and fun. Don't worry-you are strapped in and there are handles, you will be just fine! YOU CAN DO IT!!!! :goodvibes You gotta show up your Mom!!

Beaches & Cream....yum...

Your story of your ToT ride makes me want to really try it out. I don't know if I am brave enough. :scared1:

You are brave enough! YOU ARE! YOU CAN DO IT! If you do ToT in May, I'll do HM in December (because that ride spooks me out!). Deal???

What a great update, Brooke! Don't you love meeting new people at Disney? It was one of my favorite parts of working there and is one of my favorite parts of visiting. We met a really wacky couple at lunch one day. (Coming up soon in my report.) We did get them in a picture.

I sure hope we run into eachother one day! I know I say that alot, but you are just my kinda girl!

I do love meeting random people at Disney-it's so fun! Everyone is (usually) in such a good mood, having fun, being big kids - ahhh, LOVE IT! I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience!

I would love to meet you! You are my type of gal too-I can just tell. And Belle and Henry together...how cute would that be? :lovestruc

Alright! TOT!!! :cool1: I do like that ride!! The first time I went with DD and we ended up in the front row. :scared1: The CM was so into his role and really terrorized us! :rotfl: We were gripping each others hands the entire ride, our photo at the end was so embarassing...we looked like complete chickens! Of course we went again and screamed our heads off for all of the drops! :rolleyes1

Our CM was laaaaaaaaaaaame. We were all being silly and he just looked at us like "whatever". :sad2: He could have played into it or SOMETHING. All well! That is funny about yours being really into his job, esp on your first ride and being right up front! :scared:

Yes, you have to do it! It's awesome! Just be sure to hold on tight to everything, because it will fly in the air if you don't.

Ride it. Ride it. Ride it!

Nice Hollywood Studios pictures, Brook.
I was just riding Tower of Terror Sunday.
Sigh.

I agree with you MeMom! But, LL, you can hold onto the handle. I do! :rolleyes1

Do you have the Disney World Blues? Your next trip isn't toooooo far away...and I haven't been on your TR within the past few days...you have a speical little girl making her apperance very soon (or perhaps already?!) to tide you over until then! :cloud9:

What a fun ride on ToT!!! I might be able to ride it if I had a fun couple like that with me!

You can do it CP! Have your children ever ridden it? I can't remember from your previous TRs. Maybe they can help you through it!

I was so excited to get to go to Beaches & Cream, I was so giddy! And it did not let me down!

My first ride back in 2006 was reallyyyyyyy tame. I was like "what? that's it?!" but this one was MUCH more intense. The drops were bigger. I remember it held us a bit in 2006, but not a whole lot this time, the anticipation didn't have time to build up! I wish I could have tried it back in the old style where it had more drops and dropped top to bottom!

I can't imagine Henry riding it! I wonder if he'll like rides like this when he's Claire's age?

BTW, I don't think I have remembered to tell you this....when I was pregnant with Henry, and before we found out if Henry was a boy or girl, Claire was our #1 girl name! I love it! :goodvibes

Okay...I have to share this news....it's wacky....and I just HAVE to tell someone and there is no way I'm telling my family...or anyone in real life for that matter (yet)!

Our house has been on the market in our little town for quite sometime. There are two big businesses in our town, one just went through MAJOR layoffs, the other is doing alright. So...the market isn't great in general, and it's even worse in our town.

Our Realtor emailed Joe this evening, a note she found on Craigslist of someone wanting to do a "housing swap" (basically they buy our house, we buy theirs). We have been looking at moving to Minneapolis, but our Realtor knows of our love for Disney World and Florida in general...so this housing swap is with a home in Jupiter, Florida and they are looking to move to our little town!

Joe emailed the family.

We just HAVE to see what might become of it all...

Jupiter is TWO AND A HALF HOURS from Disney World. :faint: :hyper:

SO many thoughts are running through my mind on this one. We have not entertained moving to Florida ever...well, not seriously...after every trip one of us always says "Let's move here."

The chances of it working out and all are SO veryyyyyyy slim, but it's kinda a crazy, awesome, weird, funky, wow, sorta deal...

Just had to share. I am pretty certain it won't work out.

But what if it did?!

Gaaaaaaah!

Joe is waiting for me, we are going to watch Bolt!!! :yay:

What a fun possibility! Bob and I talk off and on about moving to Florida, partly for the closeness of WDW but also because of the winters. We are "old" and don't like the cold and snow anymore I guess (we had 8 inches total this year. in one snowfall. on March 1  ). But it never seems to be the right time. This sounds like it could be the right time for you all, Brook. I hope you can ponder the possibilities and see if it is!

My dream is to move to Florida. Although I just had a customer call my office the other day to question how to register her vehicle since she just moved FROM Florida to NH!!?? I said "oh I would love to live in Florida" & she just went on & on about no I would not want to live there, the electric bill in the summer is $300.00, it is expensive..the milk is like $6.00 per gallon, blah, blah blah & I know that going on vacation down there is not the same as living there but I still am very interested in living there. The older I get the more I HATE our NH winters & all the snow. I am NOT a cold weather girl at all.

Brook please let us all know what comes of this..very exciting!!!

All week long, I have been saying 'last Thursday I was walking past the wonderful smell of Flame Tree Barbeque' or 'last Friday I was standing in the crowd waiting to watch Illuminations', etc. Tomorrow is the last day I can do that, since tomorrow night I will find myself saying 'a week ago I was on a plane coming home'. A week ago right now, I was at Pop Century getting ready to go spend the day at Magic Kingdom. It seems so close and so far away all at once. I think if I lived close, like right there in Clermont, I would go over to AK or Epcot for many evening walks after school.

We'll be back in July, so it's not too far away, and we will have a new baby to keep us busy until then. Since all members of their families are coming from other states, the doctor has scheduled her to be induced on April 7th, so she's almost ready for her big arrival!

I used to live in St. Pete, which is not too far from WDW. As much as I love Disney World, of course I have entertained the thought of moving back to Florida a few times off and on through the years. But, I have a good thing going on here - a house I've been in for 22 years, a secure (I think) job, my kids are all here or close to here, and we have four distinct seasons here. We're a day's drive from Disney World or a less than two hour flight. I always want Disney World to be exciting and special, so for me, keeping it at a little distance and not overdoing it is best. I've heard people who moved to the Orlando area to be closer to Disney World, and they said the fun wore off after a short time, and I've heard of others who moved there who absolutely love it and wouldn't live anywhere else in the world. Only you know what will really be best for your family. Just write down all the pros and the cons and be brutally honest about both, because that would be a huge decision. For me, family was my number one consideration, but your family may not be close to where you live anyway, so that may not be a factor. I wish you the best as you consider your move, and I'll be keeping watch to see what you decide.

Brook, what an exciting possibility! I can understand that there are many things to consider when moving so far away (family, jobs, climate etc.), so even if it could work out in the end with the swap you might decide against relocating to Florida. But in general I love to take the opportunities life offers (within reason, I am still very much a sensible person). So when I was offered to move to Berlin for a few years with my job I really felt it was an opportunity I should not pass on and besides experiencing an exciting city it let me meet my DBF :goodvibes

What a neat possibility!!!! Very exciting!!!!

I would love to move farther south at some point!!!

Also, to answer your question, yes, Chelsea and Connor have both ridden ToT before -- Chelsea loves every minute of it! Connor, on the other hand, has only ever ridden it twice.

What a cool/wierd idea. I know you guys will make the best decision. I think it would be neat living in FL if not for the hot summers. It will be fun for you to think about even if it does not work out.

So great.

I'm also looking into moving to FL :)

I hope it works out.

Like I always say: Nothing every happens for nothing. Everything happens for a reason!

Wow! What an interesting twist of fate! My husband is dying to move to FL, but I have 7 more years to year my 25 in to qualify for retirement bennies, which is the main reason I went back to work.

I would say at least look at it, so you can weigh the pros/cons.

YES. In the old days we went top to bottom in the drop (TOT). Does it not do that anymore? We would go top to bottom SEVERAL times, with a few bunny hops in between.

goodluck on the decsion to move. Will your jobs transfer then?

Wow Brooke! What a neat opportunity! I've thought of moving there in our retirement - but I tend to be a homebody and like living near my family. If my kids moved far away, I would consider it, but if they stay around here, I probably will too. DH isn't fond of change, so I'm not sure if he would ever want to leave MA! Keep us posted...

What an interesting idea to house swap... hummm, you would certainly become very tuned into Disney, know all of the tricks of the parks, be on top of all of the latest in Disney... :goodvibes

Wow what a cool idea. Best of luck, and keep us updated!

Wow! Your latest update is certainly exciting. 2 hours from disney! I'm sure it will be interesting to get more details about the house and the community you'd be living in.
