We love Donald Duck, oh yes we do! - Link to the PTR - COMPLETE

Continued from previous post

On our walk back to Congress Park Henry played with those horses non-stop on his stroller tray. All I heard was "Ju, ju, ju, ju" coming from the stroller as he galopped the horses around. Apparently horses do not "neigh" in Henry's world, they "ju ju". Completely and absurdly adorable! And to this day, he still calls horses "Ju ju's".

Joe was still sound asleep, so we went off to DTD to see what we could see.

We walked around aimlessly for a bit and found ourselves behind a woman laughing hysterically and pointing at a man walking the opposite direction with a young toddler girl on his shoulders. I chuckled at her laughing so hard, then I noticed what was making her laugh...the little girls pants were half slidden down her heiny so her crack was showing! It was completely innocent and pretty adorable. I do hope someone told the man eventually though!

We continued our wandering and saw a CM making a drawing of Stitch with his wet broom. I have read reports of other CMs doing this at the parks, but this was a very small drawing, directly in front of his feet and it wasn't in the main walking path. It was like he was either seeing if he could do it, practicing or just entertaining himself. He saw me watching and smiled and chuckled a bit and continued on. It was a neat little moment and we enjoyed watching him.

More aimless walking and suddenly Henry nearly flung himself out of the stroller with a loud "EH!" Here is what he was lunging for:

Mickey and Minnie had no line, ;) so of course we had to go meet them! They both got several waves and kisses blown to them from Henry.

IMG_6093Small.jpg

"Hi, hi, hi!"

IMG_6094Small.jpg

Kisses for you!

Then we walked around the building and met "Dut dut" and his lady friend (again, no line )

They also were the recipient of many waves and air kisses.

Just a little bit further, reach, reach, I can almost touch him...

After our chance encounters with the characters ;), I decided to grab some dinner, to go style, from WPE. I wasn't sure Joe would even be up when I got back, or in the mood for dinner, so I figured I should just take care of it while I could and not have to do the 15 mile walk to the Carriage House just to be disappointed by the selections. I had wanted to try two things at WPE and managed to order neither of them on the November trip, so this time around I was sure to order the correct item - the Chinois (Shin-wah) Chicken Salad.

After ordering dinner, we started back for SSR.

From the bridge between DTD and SSR

We got back to the room about 6:00 pm and I started in on my salad. This thing was HUGE. And very good! I wasn't sure I would be able to eat it all, but well....I had no problem... :rolleyes1

Yum.

Joe got up around 6:30 pm and...

was feeling better! :yay:

If I recall correctly, he was even a bit hungry so he made a bagel and had some water. A very good sign.

And I know Henry ate at some point - but I couldn't tell ya what!

After a while we ventured back to the Carriage House to take a dip in the pool and hot tub. It was my third trip to the Carriage House that day, but with all the exploring, it certainly felt like my 489th trip! I was pooped!

Henry was NOT fond of the pool at all, but did enjoy sitting on our laps over the hot tub - a repeat of our swimming from November at the WL. We think it was due to it being night and the weather being a bit cooler. We were a tad bummed he didn't like it, but determined to try again during the day at some point during our trip.

After we were back in the room, we put Henry down, who I remind you did not nap at all that day, and he was asleep in seconds flat. Thankfully he was in a very good and happy mood all day. Plus NO INCIDENTS! No throwing up, no blow outs! :dance3:

I was exhausted. I walked all over tarnation that day, and was solo taking care of Henry the majority of the day.

A perfect evening to use the bathtub.

Oh yes.

And I had bought a bath bomb before our trip just for this occasion.

Joe watched TV and I relaxed in the giant tub with "ocean breeze" scented blue water. :cloud9:

It was the perfect close to the lovely day. I was very happy Joe was feeling better, and that Henry seemed to be as well. I had fun with my little guy, had several very memorable moments and probably worked off that fried fish and chocolate espresso cake from the day before! :thumbsup2

Reflections on day four: Today the weather was very nice! High 60's/low 70s. The worst thing that happened today was Joe being sick. The funniest moment was Henry blowing kisses to the Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy statues at DTD and the little girl with her heiny hanging out. The most magical moment was Joe feeling better! And, when Henry received the 1st Visit button and his ju ju's.

Up next: Wouldn't it be funny if...

I have been loving your TR. I found your one for your November trip last week and have just got up to date on this one. You take great pics and Henry is adorable.

Welcome! Thank you for reading, and thank you for your kind words. :cutie: So glad to hear you have been enjoying the reports!

Oh no, poor Joe!!
I'm glad he ended up feeling better after his long nap. And Henry got to visit with Mickey and Dut Dut with no lines - hey, who cares if they're plastic! And he got ju ju's, so it's all good! I just hope you can get at least one day without someone in the family having stomach issues! :goodvibes

Just got caught up again on reading your report. You guys and feeling sick at Disney... poor things!! I hope that Joe was back to normal soon (and it stays away from you!)

Fun adventure with Henry! His love for Donald is just so adorable! Isn't it so cute when they latch on to something and get excited about it?!

And the pictures... the pictures are beautiful. Makes sitting in my Minnesota office on a cold February day a lot more tolerable!!

(P.S. I finally got my next update posted on our TR! Only 2 months between installments... how pathetic of me. I hope to stay on it and wrap it up before it's time for us to leave again in August!!)

Ive read through your first TR and now am reading through this one. Your little Henry is so cute!! I fee bad for you guys being sick on both trips, but I know how you feel. On our last two trips we have had bad things happen. In 2006, my DS11 threw up EVERYWHERE in his bed at the WL as well as the floor and my hamper of dirty clothes. Nothing like being awakened at 2am to that sound and smell:sick:
He was sick for a couple of days, but we have found with him that if he eats too much junk and loses sleep that is what we will face.
On our last trip in 1/08 my Dmom hurt her knee getting off the plane (we had just landed in sunny FL) and was in a wheelchair for 2 days. This was our first long trip (10 nights) as well as oldest DD's graduation trip. My mom also got sick a couple of days later with a high fever, sore throat, etc. She lost 5 park days and was in the room the whole time. In the meantime my DS once again ate too much junk and was throwing up again:scared1:
We finally made it through, but it was a bit miserable for a while!!
We leave in 15 days for the Poly- just our family of 6- and I am praying every night for good health for all of us. My youngest is near Henrys age- she is 16 mos- and I am excited for her to see the characters. Cant wait to read more of your report!!

Too cute about Henry blowing kisses to the statues :goodvibes: And your salad looked so good! I'd have to get it without the chicken though - what else was in it??

What a great update, I am really a bit envious that I never get to relax that much while at WDW :rolleyes1 :goodvibes

The statues and Henry were really funny, You even managed to take pictures of him kissing and waving!

I am getting a bit confused - which day are you actually writing about at the moment. I am trying to figure out wether I would have already been at WDW while you were walking around SSR on that day...

Oh my gosh, the pictures of Henry waving and blowing kisses to the statues in DTD were too cute! Little ones do the cutest things. I really miss those days, treasure all those moments, they grow up oh so fast! Before you know it he'll be like mine, almost a teenager, and you'll be digging in your mind to remember the cute things he used to do so that you won't strangle him! :lmao:

OK, I'm hoping this is the picture of your salad :rotfl:
It looks delicious, what's in it? What is the dressing?

Henry's reaction to Mickey/Minnie and Donald/Daisy are SO cute!

It's the Chinois Chicken Salad (pronouned Shin-wah)...roasted all natural chicken breast, fresh Asian vegetables and cripsy wontons, dressed with Honey Mustard for $10.95 (thank you allear.net! :thumbsup2) The dressing is obviously on the side, it was EXCELLENT.

The "asian" vegetables, from what I can remember was pretty standard salad fare, nothing bizzare in there. Cabbage, a couple kinds of lettuce - possibly some water chestnuts?

Oh no, poor Joe!!

Ya, Henry didn't seem to care they were plastic - he probably doesn't even know the difference! :rotfl2: Yesterday we were shopping and passed a rack of calendars, of course there was a Mickey Mouse one. He about fell out of the cart he was so excited! Then Handy Manny too...woo boy, we pulled every one of those off the stand!!

His ju ju's are now bath toys. He gets so excited when he sees them!

Hey you! I read your update - it was AWESOME. I loved the video too! No worries on the delay betewen updates-it happens, life gets in the way of the DIS sometimes! ;)

I know, I can't believe we were sick AGAIN. December better be healthy.

It's snowing here today. :sad2: Just when all the snow was melting and it was starting to feel nice out. How chilly is it up there?

Oh you poor woman! Ick! I think you had it worse than us hands-down! And that's awful about your DMom hurting her knee and then getting sick on top of it! Ugh.

I just said a prayer for your whole family to HEALTHY on this upcoming trip! No sickness, no pukin', no injuries! And the Poly. :cloud9: I wish you a very magical time, and I hope your DD loves all the characters!!

Too cute about Henry blowing kisses to the statues :goodvibes: And your salad looked so good! I'd have to get it without the chicken though - what else was in it??

It was pretty standard salad fare - lettuce, cabbage, maybe some carrots and water chestnuts. Then the fried wonton strips. Yumm-o! The honey mustard dressing was very good too. I am sure they could make it without the chicken and I bet it would taste just as good!

What a great update, I am really a bit envious that I never get to relax that much while at WDW :rolleyes1 :goodvibes

Joe insisted on the relaxing days. :rotfl: But, it was a good move, I really enjoyed them! They will be built into our vacation from now on. We plan to relax.

I took a zillion pictures of him with those statues trying to get his waving and kissing. It was so adorable! It warms my heart thinking of that moment. I got down beside his stroller and pulled him out so he could get up close to Dut Dut. :lovestruc

This day was Friday, January 23. I cannot recall if you were there already or not?

OH NO....that cannot be a good sign of things to come.....

Let me just preface this, Brook, that sitting down tonight with a big mug of tea and several of your updates to catch up on has been heavenly!

I am in love with your photo of the balloons on Main Street -- so much so that if you wanted to email me a large version of that photo to use as my desktop background, I would think you were the absolute best! :rotfl:

I can't believe that Joe got sick :(. You know, I really hope that you have put Pepto as a permanent addition on your packing list. ::yes:: I am glad he was feeling better by the evening though. Hopefully, you all can resume your fun the next day.

You and Henry had a lot of fun exploring both SSR and DtD. What a nice CM to give Henry ju jus! I especially enjoyed the photos of Henry blowing kisses to Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy. Too cute!

Wow, Joe not feeling good now. I hope that he was better for the rest of the trip.

I was again a bit disappointed with the limited offereings at SSR - I was craving a cheeseburger and french fries and got this:

IMG_6038Small.jpg

I have also been disappointed with the food choices at Artist Pallette. For some reason there isn't much that appeals to me on the menu.

I love the updates. Sorry Joe was sick ,but it made for a relaxing day where we got to see lots of SSR! Glad that Henry had a healthy day! That salad looks so yummy- need to make sure to eat there during our stay this June.

BTW my girls always have to have their pictures taken with the gang in the pin store... glad Henry liked them too!

I am glad that after resting a bit, Joe was feeling better. It sounds like you and Mr. Henry had a nice afternoon exploring though. :goodvibes

:cool1: Yay at your boys feeling better!!! Henry and the horses sounds so cute!!

I know just what you mean about being :sad1: everytime your baby hits a milestone. It's such a great moment that you know you'll cherish forever but it's one more step toward really truly growing up!! Jack-Jack did the walking over the threshold thing this week. Or he tried. He's learned to turn around to get down off of the couches, so he turned around to get down the little threshold step out the front door, but gravity didn't help as much as off the couches, so he was confused. He keep turning in circles, backing a little closer to the edge each time! :lovestruc Was too cute!!

Can't wait for more! LOVE all the pics!!! It's my goal now to teach Jack-Jack to blow kisses soon!!

I just found your November TR this afternoon and I have spent the better part of tonight reading all of it and getting up to speed on this TR.

I read your first TR partially because we were there at the same time as you. Plus you take some great pictures and really do a great job on your report.

Your son is so cute, I just love his hair. We had our DS's first haircut done at the MK also when he was 18 months old. He had really long hair and several CM's had already called him a princess. I love that barbershop.

I'm glad that you figured out what was making your son sick. It actually did sound like reflux to me, our son still suffers from that some. Now it's pretty much only when he gets a cold and coughs alot, which brings on the throw up. Actually we had an incident similar to yours at Chef Mickey's our first trip with him. But ours was not nearly as bad as your sounded.

I'm looking forward to the rest of your TR. I did have one question though. What are developer points? Is this something in addition to the points that you get each year?

It's too bad that Joe got sick. Not something you want to happen on vacation. It was so sweet of him to hang in long enough for you to do SM. You went ahead and made a good day out of it, I'm impressed. I'm glad he got better by the end of the day.

Henry's kisses are just too darn cute!
