We love Donald Duck, oh yes we do! - Link to the PTR - COMPLETE

Awww how cute is Henry eating his corn dog nuggets on the chair all by himself like a big boy?!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

I really hope Joe felt better soon, it's horrible being sick on vacation... which you know all too much about!

Again, fabulous pics! Henry looks soooo adorable and so grown-up sitting at the table chowing down! Poor Joe! How sweet that you were both worried about spoiling the day for the other.

Oh, poor Joe.

I am loving your photos though, they are just amazing. :cloud9: And I still can't see them at work! I don't know why, it's only yours, something weird with my work computer. Oh well, thanks for trying! :goodvibes

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that Joe wasn't feeling well! I hope he got better quick!!!!!

WOW your pictures of the castle looked amazing!!! Great shots I just love to just stare at them!!

Oh no! I hope Joe felt better after some rest! You guys aren't having the best luck with illness at WDW!

We had the same experience with FP at the Jungle Cruise. We went over there twice and both times the machines were covered and the wait was like 40 minutes. Not likely!

Boy, you guys have had more than you share of sickness at WDW, I hope this trend stops soon!

Your pics of main street are so lovely. It always felt crowded and rushed last June and I didn't stop to appreciate all the details that I enjoy so much in others TR's. Next time I will definitely slow down and try to soak it all in. Thanks for sharing.

Oh no, I'm so sorry how sick Joe was!!!! :sad2: I hope it didn't last long and you were able to pick back up later on. You guys aren't having much luck these last two trips with being sick.

Yay for getting to ride SM, at least!! And you got some great pics of MK while you were there. Poor Joe......:goodvibes

It was a big bummer when we woke up and Joe wasn't feeling well. I kept offering to go back to SSR while we were at MK because I didn't want him to push it and it last for days like last time!

Despite him not feeling well, it was a nice morning at MK!

Oh no! That sucks that Joe got sick - that's no fun! :sad2:

Loved your pics of the Boardwalk at night - oh and you're sweet baby, Henry is just yummy!! :cloud9:

Ya, being sick at WDW REALLY stinks. Last trip it was both of us, this trip it was Henry and Joe. :scared:

Thank you for your sweet words on the pictures and Henry! :goodvibes

Yum.
Yum.
I would take either of them right now. :)

Henry looks like such a little thing in the tub, but he looks like such a big boy sitting at the table eating his corn dogs.

Your Illuminations pictures are awesome! I hope to be seeing Illuminations four weeks from tomorrow night.

As I was reading your response I was eating an apple and nodding.

The apple was very good, but hello sweet almond pretzel. Drool.

It is funny how kids can be so big and yet so little at the same time, isn't it? Joe and I find ourselves saying those things all the time. We call him a baby and a big boy in the same sentence!

FOUR WEEKS MEMOM! F-O-U-R!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Awww how cute is Henry eating his corn dog nuggets on the chair all by himself like a big boy?!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

I really hope Joe felt better soon, it's horrible being sick on vacation... which you know all too much about!

Joe plopped him down in his own chair, which made me SO nervous...but he handled it like a pro!! Since then, he's learned how to climb onto and off chairs, so he would be up, down, up, down...

We do know WAY too much about being sick on vacation, don't we?! I couldn't believe it with Henry and then Joe. When we got back home and told the family about the trip they just shook their heads. December better be HEALTHY! :goodvibes

I'm subbing so I can see how the rest of your trip goes!

:yay: Welcome!

Again, fabulous pics! Henry looks soooo adorable and so grown-up sitting at the table chowing down! Poor Joe! How sweet that you were both worried about spoiling the day for the other.

Thank you!!
Joe is a sweetie - he often does that sort of thing, but in reality, I just wanted him to feel better and rest-up in hopes he would be okay the next day! I'm glad we got that in the air before he suffered through the entire day.

Oh, poor Joe.

I am loving your photos though, they are just amazing. :cloud9: And I still can't see them at work! I don't know why, it's only yours, something weird with my work computer. Oh well, thanks for trying! :goodvibes

That is so stinkin' weird! I'll check my account again to make sure when I changed it to Public that it really changed. Who knows!

But, thanks for always coming back and looking! :goodvibes

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that Joe wasn't feeling well! I hope he got better quick!!!!!

WOW your pictures of the castle looked amazing!!! Great shots I just love to just stare at them!!

Thank you!! The light was so nice on the Castle, and I love the angle from the bridge that goes into Fantasyland. Joe took a pic of me on that bridge that day, but the pic is AWFUL. It ruined the Castle! :rotfl:

Oh no! I hope Joe felt better after some rest! You guys aren't having the best luck with illness at WDW!

We had the same experience with FP at the Jungle Cruise. We went over there twice and both times the machines were covered and the wait was like 40 minutes. Not likely!

No, we have not had good luck with sickness at WDW at all. I think it's because we eat so different at home due to WeightWatchers. We rarely eat any grease, or major major sweets (mostly just Skinny Cows!) So if we over-do it, then our body rebells. I tired to remember that this past trip, and will keep it on the forefront of my mind in December too.

I was super bummed about the JC! I wonder why the FP machines were down?

Boy, you guys have had more than you share of sickness at WDW, I hope this trend stops soon!

Your pics of main street are so lovely. It always felt crowded and rushed last June and I didn't stop to appreciate all the details that I enjoy so much in others TR's. Next time I will definitely slow down and try to soak it all in. Thanks for sharing.

ME TOO! It better stop! I am tired of writing delicatly in my TRs about not so delicate matters! :rotfl2:

I know what you mean about being rushed on Main Street. I usually practically run down it, and then regret it because I don't feel I ever really take it in. I LOVE architecture, and here is all these beautiful buildings that I'm breezing past... It worked out well that day that Joe was only up for wandering!

While I'm glad Henry is finally doing well during the trip...poor Joe, hope it doesn't last long! It's sooooo not fun being sick as WDW, as you well know

Oh no! First Henry, and now Joe?! Seriously, enough is enough - no more sickness for you guys on vacation!!

The pictures you took at MK were beautiful! I'm hoping the boys won't be too upset with me wanting to slow down and play with my new camera on our next trip!

I sure hope Joe feels better after his nap!

Henry looked so cute sitting in the chair like a big boy! Also so kind of him to insist on ordering corn dog nuggets and sharing with mom.

I am starting to wonder if you guys are cursed on vacation. Poor Joe. Hope he feels better ! (Ok I feel funny saying this since this was a few months ago but I am looking forward to reading on and hoping he starts to feel better)

another great update, you really have some of the best pictures I have ever seen of Main Street. They are amazing. :goodvibes

I can understand what you say about eating all this unhealthy food during vacation resulting in an upset stomach. I used to have exact the same problem on a few vacations and now really try to pace myself to eat not too much fried food and also not too big portions. Recently I read that actually drinking ice cold drinks is not good for the digestion, so this recent trip, I ordered everything without ice (we Europeans don't put ice in our drinks anyway, so that's what I am used to) and I think this really helped, too.

Sorry to go OT here Brook, but this statement reminded me of something.

When I was a kid, I went to visit my dad when he was stationed in Germany and I once ordered a soda WITH ice and the waiter looked at me like I had two heads! He brought me the soda with two tiny ice cubes in it. I'm sure he was thinking "stupid Americans!"

I just caught up. The pictures from the Boardwalk and Illuminations are FAB!!! You are really getting the hang of your camera and it shows. (Not that you're pics weren't already amazing from the beginning.:goodvibes )

Henry looks so cute in the big bath. I bet that was very exiting for him.

We like 'Where is Baby's Belly Button?', too!!!! :lmao: "Where is Baby's Mommy?' is another big hit in our house!:rotfl2:

Hi Brook! Great update except for Joe not feeling well. :sad2: I hope he gets better while you are there.
I agree with everyone about your photos! They are wonderful.... they bring you right back to Disney, the colors, the buildings... the palm trees in Tomorrowland! :goodvibes
You had asked about the Illuminations soundtrack. Seems to me I got that on a cart outside the American Pavillion but they sell them in other countries too. Ask a CM when you go in December. I suspect that you could get it on Amazon if you put in Disney Illuminations. It's so much fun to listen to and imagine what is happening during the music! :thumbsup2

And as you well know! I was happy to read in your latest update that you felt a zillion times better with the meds. Strep STINKS.

Oh no! First Henry, and now Joe?! Seriously, enough is enough - no more sickness for you guys on vacation!!

I know it! I couldn't really believe it either. It was still WONDERFUL to be there, but sick AGAIN? We were completely healthy between November and January too!

Thank you for the comment on the pictures! :goodvibes Hopefully they do slow down for you - it's a lot of fun to find new angles and capture things you never saw before. Thankfully Henry is still too young to protest!

Yes, I was very pleased about him wanting to share his corn dog nuggets! :rotfl2:

I might be able to update today...

another great update, you really have some of the best pictures I have ever seen of Main Street. They are amazing. :goodvibes

Thank you! :) It's a lot of fun to take them, I still don't ever feel like I've captured the essence of Main Street - but got a teensy bit closer this trip with the architecture pictures. I think the overall feel comes from the scents and sounds too. Ah, just thinking about it makes me want to be back there NOW. 291 days...

I really tried to pace myself on this trip a bit more too - Ohanas kicked my heiny last time and I LEARNED my lesson. I still splurged all over the place, but I think it was a smart move to go with the pita and hummus for dinner at Spoodles. I am sure Joe (and I) will be more watchful in December too.

That is interesting about the ice cold drinks. I love everything VERY cold. I love, love, love ice. I did drink quite a bit of warmer water though, but everything else was as cold as I could get it. I'll have to pass along this tidbit to Joe since he doesn't care one way or the other.

Sorry to go OT here Brook, but this statement reminded me of something.

:rotfl: No problem on the off topic - I don't mind!

I can't imagine not having ice. I LOVE it. Sometimes I will just have a cup of ice. (soooooo bad for my teeth though!)

Thank you! Joe took many of the ones at the Boardwalk, he's great at night shots!

Oooh, we don't have "Where is Baby's Mommy?" that might be a good one to get considering Joe and I are both "Mommy" according to Henry! Today, "Goodnight Moon" has been the big winner. He also has enjoyed "Barnyard Dance" about 17 times this week! I think I have 90% of his books memorized! It really is so sweet though. :cutie:

Thank you! I'm so glad to give a bit of a Disney fix through the pictures. I know when I look at them I just long to be there!!

I will have to keep an eye out for the soundtrack. That would be great to listen to! I tired to listen to the Disney Radio station over the internet, but it cuts out every so often and became a pain in the butt for me to deal with while working, but it was still WONDERFUL to hear all the sounds. There are so many soundtracks at WDW, I don't even notice many of them!

I left off just as we had left MK and Joe went straight to bed back at SSR.

When we arrived back at SSR I was starved. It was past Noon and I normally eat on a pretty defined schedule, so my body was demanding food PRONTO!

Problem is - Henry was also hungry and Joe was depleted....

So, I fed Henry some food in the room, and then left him and Joe and hoofed it to the Carriage House to get a "to go" meal so Joe could truly rest, not an easy thing to do with a 1 year old wandering around the room!

I was again a bit disappointed with the limited offereings at SSR - I was craving a cheeseburger and french fries and got this:

IMG_6038Small.jpg

Cheeseburger Flatbread. (sans mayo)

It was as close as I could get!

It was pretty tasty, but still didn't quite hit that craving.

After I was done with lunch, I attempted to put Henry down for a nap and then went into the bedroom where Joe was sleeping to do some research on Henry's symptoms, check email, relax, etc.

Just as Henry was about falling asleep, there was a knock on the door...

housekeeping.

Which of course, made Henry perk right back up! :hyper:

I tired to lay him back down but there was NO having that! So, instead of wasting the beautiful day away indoors, we ventured out onto the balcony to soak in some of that peaceful Disney.

This reminds me of our first day, arriving at SSR... We entered our room and one of the first things I did was open the patio door to check out our view. I stepped out and breathed in deep. There really is just something about being there. It makes my whole body relax thinking of that moment. :lovestruc

I plopped my heiny into a chair while Henry went in and out, in and out, in and out. He was practicing walking over the ridge, almost like a step to him, without crawling-just holding onto the side.

IMG_6041Small.jpg

A big step for wee little legs!

Another "My baby is growing up!" moment.

Sigh.

:sad1:

IMG_6053Small.jpg

Isn't it cool how the metal tables bang against the balcony rails?! He did this back at WL in November too. Something about boys and trying to destroy things...;)

IMG_6057Small.jpg

Look Mommy! I'm inside now!

After quite some time of playing, with Joe still dead to the world, I thought we should go exploring.

Off to the play park

where we met Abby.

Abby was at the play park with her Grandpa.
Abby has a baby sister who is 2.
Abby and her family drove here in a red car.
That she picked out.
It was Abby's last day in Disney World.

I felt bad for Abby. Her last day in Disney World. :guilty: But, she said she had a lot of fun and met Princesses.

After the play park we slowly made our way back to our Congress Park building

This view was spectacular. So, so pretty.

and went to the top floor to check out the views.

IMG_6076Small.jpg

Elevator theming...

IMG_6086Small.jpg

More elevator theming. I found later this night that they also used this same tile at the Pin Traders store in DTD.

After our bit of exploring, Henry and I walked to the Carriage House (trip number 2 for me) and visited with the Dut Dut statue again near the pool (it's really a children's splash area, but wasn't on). Any time we got close to the pool area and Donald was in view, Henry would start pointing and saying "Dut Dut!". We couldn't go there without a stop to see Donald! :goodvibes

After our visit with Dut Dut, we went inside to refill my mug. A CM came up and started to chat with Henry. She asked me if it was his first visit and I said "No, but it is his first DVC visit!" so she thought that was qualifying enough for a 1st Visit pin. I was THRILLED to get one of these because I completely forgot back in November to ask for one for his baby book. In addition, she also gave Henry two little plastic horses, which prompted Henry to blow the CM a kiss as a "thank-you".

Continued in next post

I have been loving your TR. I found your one for your November trip last week and have just got up to date on this one. You take great pics and Henry is adorable.
