We have to do one park without fastpasses, Hollywood or Animal Kingdom?

It will be a Saturday in the middle of April. We are only at Disney for 2 and a half days and we are spending the first half day at Epcot. We'll be at Magic Kingdom for Sunday.

Now, Saturday has EMH in the morning at Hollywood. We also have a late lunch reservation there. But, I hesitate to go there without fastpasses. We want to do Toy Story and Rocking Rollercoaster. If we arrive for ropedrop and go right to Toy Story will we have a really long wait by the time we get to Rocking?

The other alternative is to rope drop Animal Kingdom. Our only big priority there is Expedition Everest, everything else we get to do pretty regularly with our 4 year old. So, when we run out of time, we'll just head over to Hollywood for lunch and use fastpasses at Hollywood.

We'll be staying at Pop Century if that makes any difference and planning on using the bus transportation.

Animal Kingdom. Toy Story Midway Mania is one of the best/most necessary use of a FP on property.

But if you are there right at rope drop you will be able to ride it with virtually no wait, and maybe a 10-15 minute wait at RnR. Plus, AK is much less busy at the end of the day than any other park. You could ride EE multiple times in the last 30 minutes if you wanted to. What time does AK close that day? I think you'll be fine either way you split them, but if you save AK for last you will possibly have a very early end to the day. But maybe that is a good thing.

Totally agree with the others, Animal Kingdom the best park to skip Fastpass+

If you are willing to get to DHS in time for EMH, you should be able to do TSMM with a very short wait. Then if you go right to RNRC the line should not be too long, especially if you are willing to do single rider.

I would definitely do AK. Just went Monday without Fast Passes, did Everest 2 times, Primeval Whirl 2 times, Dinosaur, and the Lion King show. Left at 11:00 (8:00 opening) crowds were pouring in at that time. Pretty busy for Spring Break. Saved our Fast Passes for MK that night.

I heard Animal Kingdom has so much construction that it takes away from the beauty of the park. Hollywood studios also has some attractions closed. I would chose Hollywood studios. I really like the Sci-Fi restaurant. I also enjoy Toy Story, Animation, little mermaid show, Fantasmic, Beauty & the Beast show, & Star Tours. If you have the whole day waiting in line for two rides won't be that bad if you get there early.

HS on an EMH day without Fastpasses could be pretty tough. AK is a better choice.

Agree AK without FP-we didn't have fastpass there and it was definitely manageable without them.
We did DHS on EMH right at rope drop and while not bad TSMM was 30 min by the time we reached the line. Was 8:45 by the time we got done there-hubby was able to quickly do star tours and then I headed off to TOT and RnR while he and my son watched Jedi training academy show-RnR single rider line was short but reg line at that point (shortly after 9 am) was already like 45 min.

I have to agree with the majority here and say AK, there seems to be more to do at HS that a fp is necessary for. Have a blast!!

I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon here and say no FP for AK! Just get there early if you want to ride EE! Yes, do AK in the AM when it opens to ride EE and then hop on over to HS and with your FP to R&R and TSMM ( I was going to say if you were into the high thrill rides R&R is the FP to have. )

We managed AK very well without FP+ on a Sunday (EMH) morning -- we were there when the park opened at 8:00 am, rode EEx2, Safari, saw Lion King, met Pocahontas, rode several other rides, ate lunch at TH. Headed over to MK and our mid-afternoon FP+ to meet Anna & Elsa.

Can anyone give an argument for getting the FPs at AK??? Nope.

AK for sure. We go over Spring Break and never plan FP+ for AK. We usually get there about 4 hours before close and are able to ride all the rides we'd like. We're not particularly big on shows at AK though (we've seen them all at least once and don't feel the need to see them again), but if shows are important to you, that may change your mind.

Just jumping on the AK bandwagon. Josh over at easywdw even has a no FP+ touring plan for AK, if you're interested. We followed it almost to a T in February 2014 and foudn it to be eerily accurate.

Animal Kingdom tours well without FP+ in both morning and later afternoon.

Start with Safari before it's dark, pay attention to last Show times for Lion King and Nemo, and rides will be empty into the close.
