Arrived at MCO last night for our return to NJ. We were sorry to see that all of the prior flights into LGA, JFK & EWR were at 2-3 hr. delays. However, our 7:10 Jet Blue flight to EWR was on time. We boarded and just as they closed the cargo doors, a passenger lost it and punched out a window of our plane. Marshalls were called and he was removed, the window frame carried out and repair service arrived to check out the remaining window structure. After about 45 minutes, it was declared just fine.
Could have been worse, esp. if passenger had lost it after we took off.

There is no accounting for the insanity of the traveling public (some of them, anyway!). What could possibly make you so angry you do something like that???

I don't think I would want to be near that window or on that plane. None of my flights have had that type of incident and it would freak me out!!!

Everyone was amazingly calm. Even the guy who was seated next to him. Crew handled it well, carrying the broken frame up the aisle like it was no big deal and the pilot was very charming and informative. They gave us free movies and no dirty looks when you asked for 2 snacks.
I would expect to be agitated but the Hurricane had already filled this trip with drama and I just wanted to get home. The dread thought of changing planes made me willing to accept that we were good to go. And it was a very smooth flight.
