ok i have 30 pnds to go and cant seem to budge, any ideas?

That tends to happen to me too. Your body starts to plateau after you've lost some. I usually eat normally for a week (normally, not overboard) and then go back to the grind. You kind of have to trick your metabolism. This is just what I do, no doctor, nutritionist, or anyone else has told me to, but it works!

I think most diets have that "crash course" week 1 where you are extremely limited. I think I recall reading that if you come to a plateau, go back to that week again to jump start your system.

i have just started planning my vow renewal and have to loose 30pnds to get to where i want to be. Im gonna work my but off. We are planning on renewing in may of 07. according to hubby feburary of 07 but not sure how that will work out since his wife wont be there. LOL

I am right there with ya. I have our vow renewal in May 07 on DCL and two weeks ago, I started Metabolic Research. So far I have lost 10 pounds and have about 30 more to go. I want to look good for that special trip. I have also started walking too. Now, if it would cool down just a little (still in the upper 90's here in West Texas) I would walk more.

Congrats on the Vow Renewal.

Sharing my joy - Got my 3 stone award last night - I'm over the moon. Keep going girlies. The feeling is amazing.

Now i'm going to sort out my clothes. I just tried a pair of my trousers on - can't believe they used to be quite tight on me.

Hey guys! I kind of "skimmed" all the posts, so if someone else has mentioned this please forgive me! but my sister got married mid July and the dresses were ssoo tight i decided to lose some weight and went to www.sparkpeople.com it REALLY WORKS! I love it. I go on every day and keep track of EVERYTHING I put in my mouth so I know how many calories I have left to "spend" that day. its awesome! then I record my fitness and set personal "goals" and it really holds me accountable. plus they have great recipes and atricles and message boards and its FREE!

I was a 3 sport athlete in High school (volleyball, basketball, track) and could eat whatever whenever, butwhen I got to college and stoped sports except intramurals...I gained weight! keep trying girls! try spark people! :thumbsup2

I looked at that site last night and signed up! It's AWESOME! Thank you so much. I especially love that once they give you meal plans, if you don't like one of the options, you can click on it and it gives you alternate ideas that have similar nutritional value and you can pick one you do like :thumbsup2

yay! glad I could help! I like how it has practically every food in the world (well, thats a stretch) also i like to save food to my favorites that i eat every day so i can just add it quickly. on the message board they also have a section on brides to be!

I am just posting to say that I am so proud of myself!! :goodvibes For the past week I have stayed on my plan and not cheated. Each time the vending machine starts calling my name, I just tell myself "you want to wear a bikini on your honeymoon, you want your DF to be able to carry you over the threshhold, and you want to look great in your wedding dress" This self talk has really been helping me make choices for ME not my tummy!! :thumbsup2 I have also started buff brides 3 days a week and cardio the other 3 with a day off. This has made a big difference in my attitude. I realize now that this is possible!! :cool1:

Way to go!! I do the SAME THING! Talking to myself and reminding myself why I am making the choices I am making seems to help! It's great to know you can overcome temptations and in the end Look so GOOD! :) Keep it up!

Congrats...

glad to hear your doing so well

I'm feeling a little... blah. I've been going to the gym as much as I can for the past month and a half and I haven't seen much difference in my figure. I'm going to keep going, and I'm going to keep dieting... but I'm beginning to think that nothing much is going to change. *sigh* Oh, well.

Well I just want to say that I have officially begun my diet again. :cool1: I went shopping for food and am watching my WW points. It's hard because I am still on summer vacation and I want to eat all the time! I'm also not as busy because I'm not going to school all day, and choir and dance take the summer off!

you should try changing what your doing...i always find that helps when i level off...normally I do the elliptical machine for 30+ min...but if i feel like its doing nothing..then i spend a week doing only weights (mind you i don’t do anything over 25 pounds), or take a class...I helps me get back into the swing of things....
but dont loose hope.... you sound like your doing great :cool1:

ok so i started on my diet again :guilty: i went off for about a week and of course gained the 5lbs back i am so upset. i feel so hopeless, i feel like i know i wont stick to it so why try :furious: and i know its wrong but i cant help it i get so upset and cry about it. i just have alot to lose and i feel like it just wont happen since i never can stick to it. i seriously say i will start tomorrow everyday of my life i hate it.but anyway i started yesterday AGAIN and today is my 2nd day :guilty: here we go again. i weigh 180lbs and i am looking to lose 45lbs :furious: i really need some support here guys :sad2: hows everyone else doing i see this thread has slowed down lets please all keep up with it i think it will help us!!! :goodvibes hope everyone else is doing well Goodluck guys :)

Belle83007, you're not alone! Today is my second day too....again. This is the third time I've done it in the last 3-4 years. DBF is teasing me that I need to get to 130 so he'll pay for the dessert party that I want! My goal was 135, so we'll see. I need to lose 15-20 lbs. Today has been tough. I am bored, have PMS, and had an argument with DBF who is away for work (Air Nat'l Guard). All reasons I am ready to give up and eat what I want! Ugh!

I made a decision to start eating better finally! I joined Sparkpeople.com :goodvibes and I have lost two pounds this past week!!! I am also learning new strength building exercise there

Wendy46001, Thank you for your encouraging words. I actually found out just the other day while I was shopping that I fit into a smaller size! ...even though sizes are different in every store, and for almost every brand....and I may be a different size for different pants...despite all of that I bought every color of those pants just because it said "size 8". :rotfl: ...plus I really liked them...I love Anthropologie! Anyway, I got so excited and feel more determined to meet my goal! Thank you! And good luck everyone! We can do it!!!!
