We can do it! -Disney bride weight loss group

Hi everyone!!! Well, we're back and I started the Buff Brides workout. I had intended on starting it while in FL but that just didn't happen. It seemed like I never had the time. We were either at a planning session, tasting session, park with my grandmother who flew down to be with us, taking engagement pics with Randy Chapman or meeting with our Pastor. So, I started the program yesterday. I'm trying to eat well. I signed up for sparkpeople also. Seems like a great program. Anyway, I'll keep you all informed as to how it's going. :thumbsup2

Moonpie - don't give up. I've hit plateaus before. Just because the scale doesn't change, doesn't mean your body isn't changing. You do have to change up your workout about every 8 - 10 weeks or your muscles get used to the routine and don't work as hard. There are lots of varieties in weight training and cardio. Change it up and see how you feel. :sunny:

Happy - HOW WAS IT??? Did you guys have a rockin time??

Ive been MIA - and Im trying to catch up with you guys .. how is everyone doing on the diets?? good I hope :thumbsup2

I got the results of my blood test yesterday - its confirmed, I have Celiac disease. :guilty:
Trying to process the information... A little upset that I cant even have Greg feed me our wedding cake - hes a little bummed as well. I hear that Disney is great about creating gluten free meals to people, but what about cakes??? Can I even eat all the food I am paying for at the cocktail hour? AND NO BEER! Im a little bit sad - not as bad as yesterday - but sad. Turns out Outback has a secret gluten free menu - who knew! needless to say with the move I havnt worked out in 7 days - i am going to try and get back on track soon, im going to give myself a few days to mourn the pizza and beer I will never consume again.

Kit - No more pizza and beer... my best friend is actually allergic to beer... so I know what you must be going through. I'm lactose intolerant - severely - no Lactaid pills have ever helped me... so I feel your pain for the loss of pizza. However, just look at how much easier it might be now to lose that last bit of weight. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Seriously, I have been meaning to just put a small thread together about the planning session, but it seems like time keeps slipping away from me... argh... pirate:
However, I have been working out. We are going to the Poconos tonight to stay with my DF's uncle and his daughters, girlfriend and her son. It should be A LOT of fun and the girls will keep us busy!! :Pinkbounc I'm going to have to move my workout schedule by a day, but not to worry, I have been feeling much more motivated to keep working out. Especially, since I realized it's almost Sept. and I haven't even called a seamstress to find out when I need to have my dress altered.... AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! :scared1: OK, I'll be all right and I promise by the end of this weekend I will post some info on how our planning session went. :sunny: Keep up the good work everyone!!! Talk to you soon!!!!

Whilykit, I'm sure Disney could make a couple of special flourless cupcakes for your fiance to feed to you during the wedding. :) Or you could just feed the frosting to each other...besides, it's usually just the frosting that ends up all over the faces of brides and groom's anyway! :rotfl:

Hi girls... just wanted to check in with everyone and see how your weekends are going... My DF and I went for a 2 1/2 mile walk in PA while we were visiting with his uncle and family. :sunny: It was a little misty... but not too bad. It's been raining all weekend and it's been a bit of a downer... however, I'll be ready to go again tomorrow. :teeth:

Wow! I was so glad there was a topic on this. I'm joining WW (again  ) to prepare for my upcoming wedding. The last time I joined, I did it with a friend. I stuck with it and lost 35 pounds! The bad thing was that I totally lost my motivation when she stopped going, and gained the 35 pounds and then some back. This time I'm doing it solo, and I'm not going to quit. My first meeting is Wednesday. Wish me luck! :teeth:

Just checking in!
I just got back from about a 4 mile walk with my friend. It was perfect, we finished right as it started raining. We even did about a 50 meter sprint!

I hope everyone is having good luck with their programs!

Don't cut the carbs! It's bad for you!

Work starts tomorrow! (I'm a teacher) It's really a bunch of meetings that start tomorrow, and school officially starts after Labor Day. Wish me luck on keeping up my dieting and workouts when school begins!

I disagree with this statement. It is not healthy to consume 300 carbs per day which is the average American diet. Even South Beach says no refined carbs only complex carbs and you do much less overall carbs on that plan.

I joined Sparkpeople.com and I am tracking to eat between 50 and 100 carbs a day. I have lost five pounds tracking carbs and calories. :cheer2: :woohoo:

I think I'm gonna have to join you here in this forum. I am getting married in Aug 2007 at The Celebration Hotel and then we are vacationing for 3 weeks at WDW :cheer2:

I am 5'5 and currently weigh 180. I used to be so active when I was in high school, cheerleading, athletics, you name it, but as many have already said my eating habits didn't change when I left school. I am now 26 and currently am a Student Nurse in my 2nd year, I go back after summer break on Sept 12th, thank god, this should help me.

Another thing is I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and I find that unless I restrict my Carbs I very rarely lose weight. The doc said I would have to double the amount of work without my condition to lose the same weight. :furious:

The good thing tho is if I lose weight my condition could vanish completely :woohoo:

I recently lost 35 pounds by doing the GI Diet, which allows complex carbs only. Unfortunately I put on 14 pounds again in 2 months after eating out alot and just being plain lazy :confused3

I am determined to lose the weight as I am much more happy and confident at a lower weight, I used to be 112, but looking back at pics, even I think I'm too skinny then. Ideally I would like to be 135 - 140, I'll be happy at 140. Well within my BMI.

So I have 40 pounds to lose in a year, 3.5 pounds a month, doesn't sound too bad when you put it like that :thumbsup2 Does anyone have any tips tho in regards to a good plan to follow for lowering my carb intake? The Gi diet is good, but unfortunately I like sweet things every so often and I find it very restrictive there. I cheat all the time if I know I can't have it
Or if anyone has PCOS or knows of anyone that has successfully followed a plan to lose weight with it, I would be very grateful to hear anything that may help :teeth:

Thanks all

That's what I said, so actually, you agree ;) You shouldn't cut out ALL carbs, just the bad ones.

Hey guys, just wanted to check in. I did a Buff Brides workout a little while ago and I feel much better... with all this rain here in the NYC area, it's been a little tough getting motivated... but I just got an e-mail from my future sister-in-law (who hates me and banned me from her wedding) that she will not be attending our wedding. I must say that made my night much better!! I was so worried she was going to come and object or ruin our day in some way... but now I don't have to worry... :cool1: :woohoo:

Has anyone heard of FIT ZONE for WOMEN?
I'm thinking of joining and just wondered everyone's experiances?

Thanks!

I haven't cut out all the carbs I know this is bad for you!!! I have just cutdown on them. I guess I should have posted I cut our Sugar! My mom is diabetic and I don't need to head down this path.

Did another workout this morning and planning on doing yet another tomorrow morning. This weekend we are away again. Actually, we are leaving right after I get out of work tomorrow around 2 p.m. We are going upstate NY to my aunt and uncle's farm. We will be at the NY state fair on Friday and then the local fair in Fonda on Sat and Sun... I'll do my best but there aren't too many healthy things to eat at the fairs... :sunny: I can, however, take a 2 1/2 mile walk around the block... a bit different up there than it is here and I absolutely LOVE it!!! Hang in there girls!!! Keep up the good work!!! :thumbsup2 Enjoy the weekend!!! :cool1: Hopefully Ernesto hooks a right and goes out to sea so he doesn't ruin anyone else's weekend... :confused3

Gahh!!! :guilty: Second day of teaching work, and I haven't been able to go to the gym! Too much to do! Can't..........put...sentences...together! Must...do...wedding...prep! Must...fall...asleep...

LOL !! Moonpie you make me laugh... :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: you'll find a routine to settle into... it'll be ok... just breathe... and get some rest!!!
