We All Want a Jar of Hunny!~A Nov. 2010 TR! *NEW October PTR 4/4, pg 42!!!*

Boma is one of my favorite buffets, I'm glad that you guys enjoyed it.

AKL is my favorite resort. I've been fortunate enough to stay there twice, and both times it's been great.

I loved Boma! Originally I was going to go to Tusker House for breakfast, but changed it to Boma after I read such great reviews of it! I'd like to try it for lunch or dinner sometime too!

I love the baby simba picture, I forgot they had that magic shot and forgot to ask for it...darn!! Guess we gotta go back next year :rotfl:

I agree AKL does remind me of WL especially inside the lobby area, that picture of the pool looks so nice and refreshing!!

Thanks! :thumbsup2 I was on a mission to get a baby Simba picture and a Tinkerbell picture this year and I got both! I'd really like to get the balloon picture next time, but I never see that being done anywhere! :confused3

AKL seems to have the better pool compared to WL, the pool at WL seems kind of small for a deluxe!

AKL is so pretty:love: I did the pool better when it was green instead of blue though.

I am surprised that you aren't going to stay there next time. I know you don't like the distance to the parks, but you were considering CSR once and that is close to AKL.

I didn't know the pool was green!

I have no idea where we are staying when we go, or even when we are going, it all depends on if I get a pin code or what discounts come out for next fall. I think I've pretty much decided on October, but I don't know where I want to stay. Maybe CSR or CBR if we do a moderate, or possibly one of the Epcot resorts to be near the Food and Wine fest...or maybe WL or AKL since they are a little cheaper. I'm sure I will change my mind 50 times before next fall!

Great photos at AKL. Isn't it great? I think our wish is coming true and we will be staying there next year (maybe the whole trip or maybe a split deal with our home, CSR). Boma is our absolute favorite non-character buffet breakfast; and I agree with you on the juice...it is heavenly (I have a friend who stays at AKL--he has DVC--and every time he goes I ask him to find a way to bring juice home for me).

Thanks! AKL is really beautiful, I really hope I get to stay there someday! I hope you're finally getting your wish and staying there on your next trip too! :woohoo: Boma was great and that juice is sooooo good! They have the same juice at the Poly, right? Only it has a different name?

Glad you liked AKL. It is an amazing place and it's so awesome being able to watch the animals.

Looking forward to hearing about your day at AK!

I loved AKL! :lovestruc It must be so nice waking up in the morning, going out to a balcony, and seeing a giraffe outside! :yay:

Yay!!!! You got your Simba pic!!!!! And I love how it came out! The look on Brandon's face is priceless! Like he is really looking down & Simba was really there!

I know what you mean about reading all the signs, the boys wanted to do that & I was like "LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! You don't even read the signs at the Zoo when we go!"

Yummy, Boma sounds delicious! :lovestruc We are trying it for dinner on our trip, but the goat cheese scrambled eggs sound AMAZING! I love goat cheese so much. I am really looking forward to exploring the resort a little bit, too. I've never even set foot on a deluxe resort, so I'm really excited to see some!

Yay for your Simba picture! That is one of my all time favorite PP pics we have done! I love yours!

Isn't AKL beautiful? You should definitely stay there someday. And you must get a Savannah view room - it is so worth it! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad to hear you liked Boma! Can't wait to hear about the AK day! :goodvibes

Yay! I love the Simba picture! Of course, I think I'm making a weird face in it, but I think that about most pictures I take! I don't think Brandon really knew what we were doing in those pictures until I got the PP CD back, he does look funny in it! :rotfl:

LOL, that's funny, I read signs at the zoo, but at AK, I don't want to bother when we are walking in, I want to get to Expedition Everest!

Boma is great! I can't wait to hear how you liked dinner there after the trip, I'd really like to try it sometime! Brandon is obsessed with goat cheese too, he was just talking about those scrambled eggs yesterday and said he needs to try to make them at home!

You're going to love AKL it's really one of the most beautiful deluxes! I have only stayed in BC and WL, but I think I have visited most of them, AKL was the only one I hadn't seen and it's amazing! Staying there or at the Poly would be like a dream come true! :lovestruc The only bad thing about it is the location.

Thanks, I love the Simba picture too! I really need to learn to scrapbook so I have something to do with these pictures!

I'm so glad to hear you liked Boma! Can't wait to hear about the AK day! :goodvibes

I really want to stay in AKL! Have you stayed there? I would probably splurge for a savanna room if I stayed there, it's a little more but I think it would be worth it? :cool1:

I loved Boma! I'd really like to try Jiko someday, but I never go to signature restaurants for some reason, but I think next trip I'm going to try at least one! :)

nice update!! I enjoy AKL but I'm loyal to WL as well :) Cute PP Pics!!!

Thanks! I'm trying to figure out where I want to stay next year, the week I'm looking at already has standard and savanna view rooms booked at AKL! So it might be back to WL for me, or maybe another mod to save money, who knows? I hope they announce some new discount after the 20th and free dining is over so I can book something!!!

Seriously, the bird show again??

Day 3 11/14 part 2 (This is a fairly long update, but I wanted to get AK finished, so I apologize in advance if it's a little lengthy!)

Once we finished up with our photopass pictures, we were trying to figure out what to do first. I knew I wanted to do the Festival of the Lion King show more than anything, but I got a times guide and I don't think it started til 10 or possibly 11, and it was only around 9. So I took a quick picture of the tree

IMG_1594.jpg

and we went in the direction of Asia, because when we don't know what to do in AK, we head for Expedition Everest!

Along the way, we saw the birds on the side of the walkway, which were really cute, because it was like they were snuggling together :lovestruc

IMG_1597.jpg

I took maybe 1 picture of them and was ready to move on, but Brandon had to take the camera and take like, 10 more. He just loooooved those birds. :rotfl:

I had to hurry him along, because he probably would have stayed there for an hour talking to them :confused3 and eventually we arrived in Asia!

Animal Kingdom is my least favorite Disney park, but I do love the Asia section, it's so pretty and themed so perfectly!

IMG_1598.jpg

IMG_1602.jpg

I was ready to get right on EE, but Brandon started saying he wasn't feeling good...so we had to just sit and wait for a little while. He said he didn't want to go on a roller coaster that soon after eating. *Sigh* So we just sat there for a little while until he decided it was ok to go on, and as soon as it was ok, I pretty much ran over there...EE is one of my favorite Disney rides, so just sitting there, watching people go on and not being able to was like torture! I guess I could have went on alone, but I felt bad!

We got FP's really quick before we went on, and then went to the stand by line, which was I think a 15 minute wait.

IMG_1603.jpg

We waited to sit in the front, because really, this ride is just so much better from the front, and soon, we were on our train, ready for our adventure in the Himalayas! "It's Yeti time!!!"

I did take a picture of us on the train as we were going up the huge hill, and it came out really cute...except I had something in my teeth, I guess from breakfast so I can't post it here! :rotfl: Ugh I'm so annoyed about that! I just wonder how long I walked around like that that day, because Brandon never said anything!

Anyway, I did get some pics at the top of the mountain when the track ends:

IMG_1606.jpg

IMG_1607.jpg

I wanted to go on again immediately, but Brandon said no, he couldn't handle it twice in a row, and we could come back later. I believe I started pouting at that point, asking him what his problem was, telling him he was no fun...you know, being very mature about it! :rolleyes1 So we left Asia, and on the way over to Africa, we saw DeVine! I didn't take any pictures because...well, she's a little creepy and it seemed like she was staring at everyone who took pictures. I'm assuming it's so they got a good picture of her, and I guess that was nice of her...leave it to me to think she's being creepy! :rotfl:

I was trying to figure out a time to do FOTLK, because they only have shows once every hour, and in the times guide, it says to arrive 30 minutes early to be seated, and I think by then, it was too late to get to whatever show was going on at that point, so I wanted to go to the next show. So that was the plan, do something for 30 minutes and then go to FOTLK. Ok, great!

Of course, we walk by the Flights of Wonder show, which was just starting, and the girl with the owl was outside, trying to talk people into going to watch the show

IMG_1612.jpg

Brandon is obsessed with this show, I don't know why! I like it a lot, I do, but I did not want to see it that day, we see it every single time we come to Disney, and I knew that if we saw it, we would be pushing it to get to FOTLK. But Brandon insisted that we would be fine, and I didn't remember it being very long, so fine, let's go watch the stupid bird show!

What's the first thing they say? The show is about 30 minutes. 30 minutes???? I started to panic, and then get kind of upset because, if you followed my PTR, you know that the ONE thing I wanted to see in AK was FOTLK, and I knew our time in AK that morning was limited, because we still had 2 other parks to hit that day...so again, I started acting bratty. Brandon said we could leave but by then, the show was going to start and I felt stupid leaving so I was trapped!

It's a cute show, don't get me wrong, but I'm getting a little tired of it. I wish they would change the whole "FOB" thing, and the weird tour guide. But the birds are amazing, and it's a fun thing to watch, when you're in the mood for it, which I wasn't!

IMG_1616.jpg

Of course, once the bird show was finished, FOTLK was just about to start, so I figured it was again, too late to get there in time to get a seat before it started, so we decided to go on the safari instead.

We waited a long time for the safari, longer than we have ever waited, maybe 20 or 30 minutes. We got in our truck and began the safari, and I realized once again, I don't have a good setting on my camera for motion pictures.

We saw a good amount of animals on the safari, the giraffes, which I love

IMG_1634.jpg

IMG_1635.jpg

Elephants:

IMG_1642.jpg

Cheetahs?

IMG_1643.jpg

Of course, the lions were asleep, like they always are when we do the safari, and we could barely see them, so no pics of them! Someday I'm going to do the safari first thing so I can see them active, I've heard that is the best time to go, early in the morning!

Once we were finished with the safari, it was getting really hot, and I was tired and was ready to leave...and Brandon asked if I wanted to see the Lion King show, and I said no, we can see it some other time this week. By then I was ready to go!

On the way out, I finally got some Disney popcorn

IMG_1645.jpg

which of course, was SOOOO good, but really salty...I couldn't finish it, it was making me really thirsty, so I had to throw it away in the parking lot. Sad, wasting Disney popcorn like that!:rotfl:

Up next...2 more parks!!!

nice update!!! The animal pics are great! I've only seen the bird show once and that was because we had to do it as a part of our AK park training and that was enough for me lol.

I could use some of that popcorn right now!

Great update! :thumbsup2 I have never ridden in the front of EE, can you believe that?? I need to do that on this trip. I also have never seen that bird show! :confused3 One thing I have seen though is DeVine and I really don't care to ever see her again. When we went with my sister in 2009 she and John were getting lunch at Flame Tree BBQ and I was holding a table for us and she came creeping up on me. I was terrified of her! I hope you got to see FOTLK at some point on this trip, it's stressing me out thinking you might not have seen it!

Aww bummer that you didnt get to see FOTLK show :sad2: I don't know why but AK created major meltdowns for us, because we didnt follow my plans and it created chaos in my mind :rotfl:

I have never seen the show with the birds before, we had discussed it this trip, but didn't catch it!! Aww come on we wanna see the EE pic food or no food in teeth :rotfl:

Sorry you didn't feel like FOTLK. Even our top must-do seems less appealing after heat and walking! Your commentary about the bird show was pretty comical, though. ;)

You're so brave to take pictures on EE! I did that on BTMRR this time, but that's so much tamer! One of my favorite things about EE is the view! :goodvibes

Oh, that's sad that you didn't get to see FOTLK.

I like Flights of Wonder, but honestly I think I've only seen it like twice in all of the times that I've been there. I'm with you, Animal Kingdom is also my least favorite park, so I tend to just go in, do a few things, and leave!

Thanks! I have a lot of animal pics from the safari, but I didn't upload them all to photobucket, it would have taken forever! I like the bird show, but 4 times in 3 years is enough for me! If he wants to do it next year, he can do it alone! :rotfl:

I'd LOVE some Disney popcorn right now!

Thanks! NO, I can't believe you have never ridden in the front of EE! You have to, and RnRC too! You have to wait a few extra minutes, but it's so worth it!

I don't care to see DeVine again either! That's creepy what she did to you, she's weird!!! I saw her go up to some man and start touching his head and that's when I said "ok, I've seen enough". Brandon seemed fascinated by her, though! :rotfl:

You will have to wait a few more updates to find out about FOTLK!

AK always stresses me out, they have so many different shows at so many times, and it's such a big park...I might actually use a legit touring plan the next time I go for that park because it's so annoying!

You should see the bird show once, if you haven't seen it you will probably like it, it's cute and entertaining, but I'm sick of it! :rotfl2:

I wish I just did what I originally wanted to do in the first place, go straight to FOTLK in the morning, I don't know what I was thinking just putting it off all day!

I would never take pictures on EE (or any coaster) when it goes fast...I only did on EE when we were slowly going up the hill, and then the top where there is no more track, and I made sure I had my wrist strap on! I was really paranoid about doing it, I never have before, but I always see people taking pics on rides so I figured, why not?

Oh, that's sad that you didn't get to see FOTLK.

That's pretty much my approach to AK too, get in, do some of the fun things, and go! :rotfl: I would like to stay for the parade someday though, so I might need to change my plan of attack on my next trip! But knowing me, I'll get there early in the morning and be ready to leave by noon!

You know, I've never been able to see Festival of the Lion King? I've just never had time. I've seen Nemo, though :)

You know, I've never been able to see Festival of the Lion King? I've just never had time. I've seen Nemo, though :)

It's hard fitting in shows when all I want to do is go on rides! :rotfl2: I mean, if I have the choice between sitting though an AK show or riding EE a few times, I'm always going to pick EE! :cool1:

I'm hoping to do an update tonight, but I have to make about a billion oreo balls to bring to work tomorrow, so if not tonight, definitely tomorrow!

Just read about your Boma breakfast. thanks for the links because it makes catching up so much easier.

My stomach was literally growling reading that post. So yum! I share your feelings about AKL. I always expected to like WL better, but there is something so jungly tropical about AKL that calls to me. I love the pool there as well. When we stayed at Kidani in 09 i spent lots of time in that pool. AKL is one resort where I could just literally stay there all day and barely miss the parks.

Your Simba pose is seriously one of the cutest I have ever seen.

Promise to be back soon to read the next update. Trying to finish some last minute shopping today and as I sit here the crowds get heavier.

I am officially caught up on the dessert party and the birds. You really got some beautiful pictures of the castle. Especially the one with Walt and Mickey in front of the castle. Its really perfect.

As far as missing FOLTK for the FOW show. Bummer. But I know how you feel. I missed FOLTK in May and Jen picked Nemo over FOTLK in Sept, so I am so due for that show. In fact, I think the last time I saw it was in 08! Almost 3 years ago. Yikes! I hope you got to see it before the end of the trip.

I'm really interested in staying somewhere tropical-y on our next trip, whether it's CBR, CSR (not that tropical, but they have beaches and hammocks, good enough for me!) or AKL...OR the Poly, which I know will never happen! :rotfl: AKL is so beautiful...the only thing annoying about it is the location. It would be great if I loved AK, but...I just don't like it enough!

Thanks! I like the Simba pic, but you know how I am about pictures, I'm never really satisfied! It came out better than a lot of the PP pics we took!

There are just way too many shows to see at AK! I'd like to see Nemo someday too, but I don't know how I'd fit that in! Maybe I just need a day to see shows! :rotfl:

2nd Park of the Day!

Day 3 11/14 part 3

After we left AK, we headed back to POR to eat, swim, and rest! We still had 2 more parks to get to that night, and we needed to rest up for that! Especially since we were so tired the night before and ended up skipping most of MK magic hours!

So we decided to walk over to Riverside Mill to check out the food court. The Sassagoula River on the walk over:

IMG_1646.jpg

Riverside Mill has a lot of great choices for lunch, but we were quickly drawn to the make your own pasta section! I didn't think I was hungry, so I didn't get any, but Brandon got fettucini with alfredo sauce, and chicken, shrimp, and broccoli I think...and the portion they give you is gigantic! I wish I took a picture of it, it's in this huge box and it's overflowing out of it! Of course, once he got it, I was instantly hungry, luckily it was so much, there was enough for us to share!

After we ate, we went back to our room to change into our bathing suits to go in the pool. We thought about going in the main pool, but we had the little quiet pool right outside of our door, so we just went in there. It was nice, but honestly, I get bored with pools really fast. So I stayed in for maybe 20 minutes and went back to the room to shower and change, and Brandon stayed behind for a while. He can just hang out in a pool and relax, I can't! :confused3

When he came back, we both fell asleep for a little while, and then went to

IMG_1647.jpg

Hollywood Studios! (See again, how Brandon ruins my pictures?)

I absolutely love this park, until last November's trip, this was always my favorite park from when I was a kid, and it recently got bumped for Epcot! I just love everything about it, I love how it makes you feel like you are in old Hollywood, I love the architecture, I love the attractions (well, most of them!). Everything.

See, how cute is this?

IMG_1649.jpg

You can't see something like that in MK or Epcot! And this window:

IMG_1650.jpg

SO simple, Mickey ornaments, but yet, so DHS! They're like Mickey ornament Rockettes!

I can never get a good picture of the hat:

IMG_1652.jpg

:confused3 I tried!

I had Brandon take my picture near these stars by the hat

IMG_1655.jpg

and of course, I wasn't happy with it, so he took like 10 more, and this is the best one. :confused3 I thought it would be cute with the stars in the background, and because I love stars, but it's not so great. Oh well. Going to have lots of do-over pics on our next trip!

I'm sure anyone who followed my PTR (or even my Disneymoon TR) knows where we were going first...

IMG_1658.jpg

That's right, the Tower of Terror! Really, is there a better ride in all of Disney? I don't think so! It has everything...great queue area, great theme, the pre-show movie is fun and never gets old...and it's a thrill ride that is 1,000 times better than a roller coaster! :woohoo: I could seriously ride this over and over...and over again!

And it was our lucky night, there was only a 10 minute wait! So we went on, went right into the waiting room area, watched the movie, and we were ready to go! We got right on to our elevator and it was amazing...I had such a great time on that ride, there is really nothing better! :lovestruc

However, Brandon I guess couldn't handle it again, so we checked the Rockn' Rollercoaster...and it had a 70 minute wait! So we said forget it, and headed back down the street, and were ready to see the Osborne lights, since it was dark enough.

On the way, I walked by this place

IMG_1659.jpg

(do you see the sign? "Best legs in Tinsel Town!" Again, sooo DHS!)

and HAD to get a turkey leg...I know, I know, gross, but I love them, I have to have at least one on each trip!

Mmmmm...turkey leg!

IMG_1662.jpg

It was SO good, and totally worth it, even if they are disgusting and probably full of steroids or hormones or whatever they do to those turkeys to get those giant legs...once a year won't kill me!

Once we were finished with that giant turkey leg (and I say "we" because even though Brandon makes fun of me for always getting one, and says they are gross, he ends up eating the majority of it ) we were ready for...

IMG_1668.jpg

:lovestruc

I'm going to continue the Osborne Lights in a separate post in just a minute...:thumbsup2
