We All Want a Jar of Hunny!~A Nov. 2010 TR! *NEW October PTR 4/4, pg 42!!!*

Only one day, but one FULL day! I was so sick of seeing laundry. It took me 6 hours to wash every dish, pot, & utensil we had when we moved back in! Fires suck!!!!

LOL, I hate doing laundry, as I mentioned before! I'm doing some now and I know I need to go downstairs and get it out of the washer and put it in the dryer but I'm procrastinating...I just can't stand it! :confused3 I hope you don't ever have to deal with any more fires ever again! :goodvibes

Awww, love the pic when you ended up getting wet on Splash Mountain! Your expressions are perfect to capture that specific ride!

Mmm, raspberry lemonade slush sounds good! Howard and I split a regular lemonade one during our Epcot day, and it was yummy. Didn't know there was a raspberry one too!

WHOA to those crowds at F&W at night! Haha, I wonder how much money Disney makes on those nights!!!

LOL yeah I was a little disappointed on Splash, getting that wet! It was fun, but it was unexpected! :rotfl: I'm seriously going to be one of those poncho wearing people on rides next time!

That raspberry lemonade was SO good! Lemonade is so good in Disney, it's just another one of those simple things that taste better there, like popcorn and pretzels! :cool1:

The F&W crowds were ridiculous on Saturday night! I considered going back on Sunday but I just didn't feel like fighting my way though all of those people 3 nights in a row!

I always wonder things about Disney and money too...like when I was looking at the castle all lit up for Christmas, I wondered how much that raised their electric bill...and then I wondered who is responsible for paying the Disney electric bill! :confused3 I wonder if they a whole department who writes out checks every month to pay for bills...like cable bills for all the resorts...who pays those? And how much could THOSE cost?

Ok I'm going to stop because I could go on and on about this for quite a while! :rotfl:

Okay, Jen; now that my TR is done, I can concentrate on yours and all the others.

You got some great photos by the photopass guys!!! I never know just when to smile, so whenever Mark and I had a picture taken, we would both just say "Just Keep Swimming" and it worked pretty well because it always makes us smile or laugh when we say it.

They changed the "system" on Splash so now almost everyone gets drenched. UGH!

LOL we should try that trick for photopass pictures next time! :rotfl: We just looks so unnatural, especially Brandon, he just totally forgets how to smile when a camera is in front of him! We did get some good pics, but some other ones are terrible! :rotfl:

Ugh I really might have to skip Splash next time if everyone gets soaked! That's too bad because it's one of my favorite rides!:sad1:

Wishes Dessert Party!

Day 2, 11/13 part 5!

Hi everyone! I started doing this update yesterday, thinking it would be a short one, and it turned out to be so long and annoying, that I had to just delete the whole thing and start over!

Anyway, we left off getting ready to leave Epcot on the monorail to get to MK for our Wishes Dessert party reservation at 9...bad idea, I guess everyone else was ready to hop over to MK for magic hours! We all crammed in and rode uncomfortably over to MK, and then, as a group, we all got off the monorail at TTC, and then tried to get on the monorail to MK, but again, there was a huge mob waiting! So we said forget it, and went down to the ferry waiting area.

We waited a little while for the ferry and once we got on, it was a nice ride over. I like taking boats to places in WDW, it's usually relaxing and the breeze is nice.

Once we got into MK, there Electrical Parade was already going on, so as soon as we stepped into the Main Street area, CM's were directing us to the right to walk by Tony's Town Square, then they made us cut through this back way, where we actually went behind the buildings on Main Street! I read about them doing this on the DIS, and people complained it took some of the magic away, but I thought it was interesting! And it brought us right out to to the Tomorrowland Terrace, which is where the dessert party is held!

IMG_1693.jpg

Brandon had to use the rest room, so I checked out the line...it went all the way up the ramp, practically into Tomorrowland! I didn't know how it worked at the time so I started to panic that we were late and we wouldn't get in, so I hurried Brandon into the line as soon as he was finished!

We then learned that getting in line early for the dessert party in unnecessary...as long as you have a reservation, you have a table, the CM's take your name in line, give you a table number, and then once they let you in, they show you to your table, which has a little place card on it with your name!

When we got in, we were nervous about getting a bad table...and we ended up getting THE best table there! It was all the way to the right of the terrace, right in the front! It was a perfect view of the castle:

IMG_1509.jpg

We didn't waste any time getting up to get dessert! There was so much to choose from, I didn't know where to start, but here is what I ended up with

IMG_1511.jpg

I didn't take a picture of the food stations or Brandon's plate, but he basically had the same as I did!

Everything was so good, with the exception of that little tart on the left...I thought it was cheesecake, and it turned out to be key lime pie I think. I'm sure if you like that, it's good, I just don't like key lime pie! My favorite was definitely the pistachio creme brulee (the little tea cup), sooo good!

I wanted to get seconds after I was finished, but I was stuffed! Joni, when you go, make sure you are hungry! :rotfl: I went up to get another pistachio creme brulee, but by the time I did, it was almost time for Wishes to begin and I guess they were out of them! Oh well, I got another cup of tea and went back to my table.

An annoying thing about this is people stand against the railing for Wishes...which I can understand if you have a bad table, of course you want to see the fireworks, but since we had a great table, we wanted to sit! :rotfl2: We ended up standing anyway, since everyone else did, and finally Wishes began!

I'm not going to put up a lot of fireworks pics, mostly because I don't have very many good ones from this night (my Holiday Wishes pics are a lot better!) and because we've all seen them before, I don't want to bore everyone! So here are a few of the better pics of Wishes from the Tomorrowland Terrace:

IMG_1556.jpg

The end! I LOVE Wishes, I could see it every night of my Disney vacation if it was possible!

Isn't the castle beautiful?

IMG_1557.jpg

I love how it can be so many different colors!

I really liked the Wishes Dessert Party, the desserts were so good, and it was a nice place to relax, sit for a while, and then watch Wishes without fighting a crowd! I would definitely do it again, although I don't know if I'd do it on every trip, it can get expensive! I hope they keep doing it for a while, it seems to be pretty popular!

Once we left the party, we went to Tomorrowland to see how the Space Mountain line was, since it was the beginning of extra magic hours, and it was pretty long. We decided to just keep walking and if we wanted to do anything, we would stop to do it, but everything had really long lines. This was the first time I'd ever encountered this with magic hours, in our past 3 trips, magic hours have basically been dead and most rides have been walk ons, but not this night! :confused3 We were getting tired and frustrated as we went through Fantasyland, and since I hadn't ridden Haunted Mansion yet, we went on that, which only had a 15 minute wait.

HM was fun as always, and after sitting in the dark for so long, we realized how tired we were. So as much as I hated to say this, I asked Brandon if he wanted to skip the rest of magic hours and just go back to POR to go to sleep, which he quickly said yes to! :rotfl: MK was open til 2 that night and I wanted to stay pretty late originally, but we just could not do it!

I took a few more pics of the castle before we left

IMG_1561.jpg

IMG_1566.jpg

and we waited to get a terrible photopass picture

Photo0019FourBySix.jpg

and then we started the long journey back to the car! :rotfl: It took so long to get back to the car from MK, almost an hour between us walking so slowly and waiting for the monorail, which took forever because again, there was a mob of people waiting to get on! By the time we got back to POR, we both passed out pretty quickly! Which was good, because we had an early breakfast ADR the next morning!

And there you have it, Day 2 completed! I apologize for the lack of pics in this update, I didn't take a lot of pics that night except for the fireworks because I was just so tired! :faint:

Up next, our earliest breakfast ADR yet and Animal Kingdom fun!

YAY! I have been waiting for this update! I am so excited to do the Wishes dessert party! I'm so glad I booked it for the first night of our trip, too. That way it can be a celebration to kick off our magical vacation! I really like key lime pie so I will probably have to try the tart thing. I have never had creme brulee but I will try that thing you liked just to be adventurous! :) I will definitely be hungry I think because our ADR for LTT is at 2:00, so that will be 7 hours later! Thanks for sharing your experience! 13 more days until I get to try it out!

Looks like you had almost the same seat that my mom and I had during the party. I made sure I was well prepared for the party. I ate dinner at 5pm, and they let us in at 9pm, so I was totally ready! :lmao: I truly think I sampled everything.

Jen, I love the Wishes Dessert Party and fireworks update. We've never done the dessert party but are seriously considering it for a future trip if they sitll have it (Mark would have LOVED the key lime pie, but I'm with you...don't care for it). Your photos of the castle are beautiful.

The castle looks so BEAUTIFUL with the ice looking lights on it!!

The dessert party looks fun and I am glad you guys got such a great table. I think I would be a little irritated with people standing though, but I guess I understand if you have a bad table that would stink too :confused3

All of the traveling around WDW can sometimes stress me out, but I agree the boat rides are nice

It is so much fun, I'm so glad we did the dessert party, you and John are going to love it! :cool1: I'm pretty sure that dessert was key lime pie...I remember it tasting citrus-y, like lemon or lime, and I didn't like it! I've never had creme brulee before that night, and it was SO amazing! I came home and bought creme brulee from the grocery store that you broil in the oven and it just wasn't the same!:rotfl:

I was prepared for the party too, I tried not to eat a lot at the Food and Wine fest too, but those desserts are so filling, I couldn't get another plate! :rotfl: If I go again, I'll make sure I don't eat for like 5 hours before! That's funny that we probably had the same seat, it was a great spot to just stare out at the castle! :lovestruc

Thanks! You should definitely do the dessert party, it is a lot of fun, it's very laid back and relaxing and a nice place to watch Wishes! I love the castle like that...we are thinking about when to take our trip next year and while I really want to go in October for the Halloween party, I can't imagine not going while the castle is lit up! :confused3 :rotfl2:

The castle is so pretty all lit up like that...I could just look at it for hours! I took so many pictures of it throughout the week, Brandon kept telling me I already have 100 pictures of it, but I needed more!

I was kind of hoping we could stay in our seats for Wishes, but it is a little unfair to make the people in the back sit, so I didn't mind standing, we were already sitting for almost an hour eating dessert anyway!

I agree, traveling around WDW is time consuming, but the boats are always fun, unless you're in a hurry, in which case, it would probably be faster to just jump out and swim! :lmao:

I was so excited when I saw the dessert party update! I decided over the weekend that I think that would be a good thing for us to do on the honeymoon. I hope they are still offering it then! :goodvibes All of the desserts look so good, and your view was amazing!

The desserts look awesome and the castle looks so beautiful! Great luck in getting such a good table.

I can't wait to read about your AK day.

OMG the desserts were so good, and the view was perfect! :lovestruc I'd really like to do the party again!

I want to stay here someday!!!

Day 3, 11/14

Welcome to day 3 of our trip! Our day started really early in the morning, because we had 7:45 breakfast reservations at Boma! This was one of the ADR's I was most excited about, since I really wanted to visit Animal Kingdom Lodge. I asked Brandon what time he needed to get up to get ready and be out the door by 7 am and I think he said 5:45...but I think he really got up at like, 6:15!

We left POR at maybe 7:10, a little later than I wanted to, since I didn't know how far AKL was from POR, and what the parking would be like or anything. When we arrived at AKL

IMG_1568.jpg

we had to go through the gate and tell the guard that we had breakfast ADR's, but there were 2 cars in front of us...and the person in the car talking to the guard apparently had some problem because we were waiting there for at least 10 minutes! It was insane, really aggravating, because I thought we were going to be late for our ADR, and it was annoying that they couldn't just let us through...by the time we did get through, there was a line of cars behind us waiting to get in as well! Brandon was about to open his window to yell at the people in the car, but fortunately, I didn't let him because it's not ok to act that way in Disney World! :rotfl2:

We finally parked and I immediately loved AKL! It is SO beautiful!

IMG_1572.jpg

(Sorry my lobby pic is so dark, but it's really dark in there! :rotfl:)

It reminds me of the Wilderness Lodge, but nicer! I felt bad telling Brandon that, because I felt like I was being disloyal to my WL...but it is way nicer!

We didn't have much time to look around, we had to be at Boma pretty much the second we walked into the Lodge, so we went to find it (which is a little confusing at first) and checked in.

I tried to take a few pictures while we were waiting for our table, but they didn't come out very well

IMG_1573.jpg

:confused3

We didn't have to wait very long to be seated, and immediately our server was there, bringing us that famous Boma juice (jungle juice?) which was SO good! We then got up to get stuff from the buffet...we both got omelets, the scrambled eggs with goat cheese (OMG amazing!), and probably sausage or bacon, and potatoes. Everything was great, this probably is my new favorite breakfast buffet, the omelets are much better than the ones at Crystal Palace and...that juice! I wish I could have taken a bottle of it home! (Sorry no food pics...I remember trying to take pics, but they were just not coming out very good so I gave up!)

Once we were stuffed, we walked around the pool area of the resort, and I just kept telling Brandon "Oh my God, I want to stay here someday!!!" :) He said he did too, it's really pretty and peaceful!

One of my favorite pics from the whole trip:

IMG_1577.jpg

So pretty, I love the AKL pool!

We decided to look for the savanna before we left, and had to walk through some bamboo, where I made Brandon recreate the pic from our Disneymoon, where he was eating the bamboo in the Fairy Garden at Epcot:

IMG_1580.jpg

We found a savanna viewing location and there were a few animals out, including my favorite, the giraffe!

IMG_1583.jpg

We watched the animals for a few minutes and then decided to get going, to get to Animal Kingdom!

Goodbye AKL! Hopefully I will see you again soon!

IMG_1584.jpg

We drove the short drive over to AKL, and parked pretty close, but I think we took the tram to the entrance anyway, since it was right there, and it was getting really hot already!

The beautiful AK tree at the entrance:

IMG_1590.jpg

and Brandon ruining another one of my pictures :rotfl:

IMG_1591.jpg

We went in and walked through the oasis, looking at some of the animals on the way...I like this area, I do, but once I'm in, I get so impatient, I just want to get in the park!!! I always rush Brandon through, because he will seriously read every sign about every animal, try to find every animal hiding, and I get so annoyed and start nagging him "let's GOOOOO!!!" :rotfl:

We went in and the first thing we saw was a family taking a photopass picture in front of the Tree of Life...and they were holding baby Simba! I HAD to wait to do this, this was one of my must do's for this trip, and there was no one else waiting! The family finished up and it was our turn, and the pp photographer was really great, she took a few shots of us just in front of the tree and then we did the Simba one:

Photo0027FourBySix.jpg

So cute! :lovestruc I really love these magical photopass pics, I would like to do all of them someday!

Up next...did we do all of my must do's for Animal Kingdom? :confused3

Boma is one of my favorite buffets, I'm glad that you guys enjoyed it.

AKL is my favorite resort. I've been fortunate enough to stay there twice, and both times it's been great.

I love the baby simba picture, I forgot they had that magic shot and forgot to ask for it...darn!! Guess we gotta go back next year :rotfl:

I agree AKL does remind me of WL especially inside the lobby area, that picture of the pool looks so nice and refreshing!!

AKL is so pretty:love: I did the pool better when it was green instead of blue though.

I am surprised that you aren't going to stay there next time. I know you don't like the distance to the parks, but you were considering CSR once and that is close to AKL.

Great photos at AKL. Isn't it great? I think our wish is coming true and we will be staying there next year (maybe the whole trip or maybe a split deal with our home, CSR). Boma is our absolute favorite non-character buffet breakfast; and I agree with you on the juice...it is heavenly (I have a friend who stays at AKL--he has DVC--and every time he goes I ask him to find a way to bring juice home for me).

Glad you liked AKL. It is an amazing place and it's so awesome being able to watch the animals.

Looking forward to hearing about your day at AK!
