Osborne Lights!

Day 3 part 4

The Osborne Lights are amazing...when we went last year, I knew I had to come back this year at the same time to see these lights again. Until you see them in person, there are no words to describe them. You are just inside the lights, surrounded by music and pure Disney magic! :thumbsup2 Nothing gets you in the Christmas spirit like the Osborne Lights!

I'm going to try to keep the commentary to a minimum for this update, because I think the pictures pretty much speak for themselves!

Not so hidden Mickey!

I don't know what Brandon is so angry about! :rotfl:

Another hidden Mickey!

IMG_1676.jpg

Ok, this is me being obnoxious and trying to get in the way of a picture Brandon is taking...sorry you can see right up my nose, but it's kind of funny! :rotfl:

And there you have it! Those are the best ones I took of the first night we went...we went back the next night and I have much better pictures to share, we spent more time there the 2nd night and I really looked at all the details that night as well!

The lights were beautiful, just like I remembered them from the year before, and the music was amazing! The crowds were not bad at all, unless you wanted to try to wait for a photopass picture, the lines for those were crazy, but everything else was totally manageable!

I didn't want to leave, but as much as Brandon loves the lights (he took video of it on his phone, I know he likes them!), he gets sick of them kind of quickly, so after we walked around the area once and took some pictures, we were ready to go! I knew we would be back the next night, and I planned on staying a little longer the next night so I was ok with leaving...and we had another park to get to!

Stay tuned...for our 3rd park of the day!

GREAT pictures!! The one of the River at POR is really pretty!! I LOVE the pictures of the lights, I really want to go and see them in person again after reading your TR....its been a few years and those never get old!

I really love DHS too (MGM in my mind still :rotfl:) even though a lot of people say its their least favorite of the parks :confused3 It has a lot of my favorite rides and I love the hollywood street performers too!

I need to take you on my next WDW vacation, DBF screamed like a baby on ToT and wouldn't try RnR with me!! I love thrill rides and I had to go all alone!

Great update! The pictures were great.

I am with you, I can totally go on Tower of Terror over and over again. It is totally better than any roller coaster!

Third park? Can't wait to hear!

Awesome update! We loved the lights too! The "snow" was so much more awesome since it was so stinking cold while we were there! It almost seemed like it could have been real!

Don't feel bad about the turkey legs - I like them too!

You got some great pictures of the Osborne Lights! I had such a hard time getting good shots when we were there. And you're right, I couldn't believe how crazy the PP lines were there!

Thanks! POR is really pretty, I have more pictures of it, but I think they are later in the week. I'm kind of sad thinking I won't see the lights next year...but I've gone 2 years in a row, it's time for a different time of year, I guess! :confused3

I still say MGM too, but I write DHS on here, I don't know why! I think Hollywood Studios is a stupid name, but whatever! I love that park! :woohoo: I don't get how people don't like it, but then again, I don't like AK very much and other people love it!

LOL, my DH had never been on a thrill ride before Disney in 2008, not even a little roller coaster, his first roller coaster ever was EE! And then I dragged him on ToT, he was terrified, but he ended up loving it! :yay:

Thanks!

ToT is the best ride EVER! :lovestruc I love the fact that it's a Twilight Zone ride too, I LOVE that show! I can't wait til New Year's eve, and the marathon is on TV! :thumbsup2

I love your pictures of the lights! They're so pretty!

Thanks! I think the pics I got from the 2nd night are a lot better, but some from the first night turned out ok!

Thanks! I love the snow, it's so pretty! Ugh I can't believe it was so cold when you went, but it probably made it seem more like Christmas at least! :rotfl:

Don't feel bad about the turkey legs - I like them too!

LOL, I love those turkey legs! They have smoked turkey legs in the grocery store, sometimes I'm tempted to buy them and see if they taste the same, but I think I should just keep them a Disney thing...I wouldn't want to eat those all the time!

Thanks! It's hard to get good pictures of the lights, I took a lot of pictures of them, but the ones I put up are the only really good ones I got from that night! And the PP lines were ridiculous, we waited in one the next night and it was a 30 minute wait I think...crazy!

I'll be back later to catch up on the report, but I wanted to wish you guys a very Merry Christmas.

OMG, worst ride EVER!!!

Day 3, part 5

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Did everyone watch the parade? I was watching bits and pieces of it while I was putting my lasagna together...it made me really wish I was in Disney right now! :( I wish they would hurry up and release some kind of discount for next fall...I want to book my trip! :rotfl: I don't know how I'm going to make it to next fall...

Anyway, back to the trip report, I hope everyone is still following along! When I left off, we were leaving DHS to go to our third park of the day, which was...the Magic Kingdom again! I don't know why, but they had Magic Hours 2 nights in a row, except they weren't as late as they were the night before, just til 11:00, not 2 am!

We got to MK right before Wishes was starting, and we were going to just skip it, but as we were walking by the Plaza, we decided to get some ice cream! We both got hot fudge sundaes and found a table right outside to sit and watch Wishes at! It was nice, totally unexpected seeing Wishes again! We just sat, at our ice cream and watched! I didn't even take any pictures, I just wanted to enjoy Wishes without playing around with my camera for once!

Once Wishes was over, we decided to just sit and let the crowd thin out a bit, and then went to Tomorrowland. There was not a long wait for anything, so we jumped in line for Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin!

IMG_1694.jpg

It's a fun little ride, but I'm terrible at it! I don't know where I'm supposed to be aiming or what...I mean, obviously at the targets, but I can't hit them for some reason! Brandon always beats me SO horribly at it! Luckily, I will make up for it later in the week...:rolleyes1

After Buzz, we finally got to do one of my favorites in all of Walt Disney World...the Peoplemover!:woohoo: I don't know what it is about this ride that I love, it's just so Disney!

I guess Brandon thought it was a good time to rest his eyes

IMG_1696.jpg

and I tried to have him get a pic of me on there, but they were terrible, so here's a nice pic of my crocs

IMG_1703.jpg

While we were riding, Brandon asked "what's that"? And pointed to

IMG_1702.jpg

Astro Orbiter...I told him what it was, and I guess he has just never seen it before, the 3 previous trips to Disney, and decided that it looked like fun! So that was our plan once we were finished with the Peoplemover...

IMG_1705.jpg

After our trip through Tomorrowland was complete, we made our way to the line for Astro Orbiter.

IMG_1706.jpg

There was not a long line, but it seemed like it was! They can only take what seems like 5 people at a time and put them in an elevator to go up to the top and ride the stupid ride...this was my first time, in 8 trips to Disney World that I've ever attempted to ride this ride, and I was not happy about it! I don't know why, I've just never been interested in it, but I figured, why not, might as well try something new! And I didn't want to be a brat about it since Brandon really wanted to try it!

The CM asked if we were riding together, and I said no, because I had no idea how big the rockets were, so they gave us each a little card, I guess each card represents a rocket so they know how many people can go up. Finally we went up and we got in our rockets...

IMG_1707.jpg

Brandon in front of me, having a great time waiting for the ride to start! :rotfl:

IMG_1710.jpg

Me, unable to contain my excitement

The rockets started moving, and immediately I made mine go as high as it could go...at first I was thinking "wow, this is fun!" You get a great view of the park up there! But it starts going really fast...you feel like you're going to fly out of the rocket! And it was pretty cool that night, so the wind made me feel even colder...I wanted to get out! :rotfl: I think I was yelling to Brandon in front of me that I wanted it to stop and he just laughed at me!

Finally the ride was over and I got out...and told Brandon "that was the worst ride EVER!" He agreed, and said that's the last time we have to go on that! :rotfl: I love thrill rides, roller coasters and ToT, can ride them over and over, but spinning rides? Forget it! It didn't make me feel sick or anything, it was just terrible, I think I got a little dizzy! I did like the view, though!:thumbsup2

After that horrifying ride, we had to go on something familiar to us, and Space Mountain only had a 10 minute wait, so we went on that, which pretty much erased any bad feelings I had left from riding Astro Orbiter! :rotfl:

We decided to leave Tomorrowland and go to Fantasyland, but we didn't ride anything...I don't remember why, we just didn't! We did that a lot this trip, walked to Fantasyland but didn't go on anything! Strange! :confused3

I think we were getting pretty tired from our 3 park day, so we decided it was time to start making our way back to POR. Before we left, though, I had to get some pictures of the castle because, well, it's just so beautiful! :lovestruc

IMG_1717.jpg

Changing to blue:

IMG_1721.jpg

Brandon loves these little statues!

IMG_1724.jpg

And one last picture, for good measure!

IMG_1725.jpg

LOVE that last picture!

We went back to POR and passed out happily, knowing we didn't have to be up THAT early the next day, no 7:45 breakfast ADR! Although, we did get a later start than I would have liked, which caused a little spat between Brandon and I!

Day 4 up next!

Sorry, I got way behind on my comments with our trip and the holidays. Catching up now:

Crazy last night at F&W! Still fun, though! I'd love to go back again too!

Wow, cool that they took you behind Main Street to get in that night!

Our dessert party experience in June was pretty similar: front table but had to stand and too full to really take advantage of the desserts.

Funny to think we were watching those same fireworks from the CA Grill that night!

Bummer that the late EMH at MK didn't work out too well. We didn't get there until later in the evening, and it was less busy later on.

Mmmmmmmm....love Boma breakfast! (Yes, the Poly has the same juice, called Lilikoi juice at Kona). And love AKL! Definitely get a savanna view room there someday...you won't regret it! We stayed there in June and would love to go back someday.

Nice baby Simba pic!

You saw the elusive cheetahs! Cool!

Yum, that make your own pasta was the highlight of Riverside Mill for us!

Wow, crazy you could just jump on ToT when RnRC had such a long wait!

Love the Osborne Lights!

Never thought to get ice cream and watch the fireworks from the Plaza. Good idea!

I LOVE the Peoplemover too!

We hate Astro Orbiter too! But :yay: for Space Mountain being a short wait!

Love the castle pics! So pretty all lit up!

I have not been on Astro Orbitor in forever. I really think the last time I went on it was the first trip we took when I was four. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it.

Okay, I'm all caught up. I'm so sorry you missede FOTL...I know how much you wanted to see it (we have NEVER seen the bird show). You got some great shots on the safari.

I love your Osborn light pictures -- they are absolutey awesome (and love 4the Minnie Rockettes too ;) ).

We've not been on Astro Orbiter since the kids were 10 and 8 (so 15 years go--thank the Lord!). I don't miss it at all. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

LOL it's ok, you're not far behind at all!

The more I think about it, the more excited I'm getting at the thought of going for a full week in October for Food and Wine...I really loved it, I'd like to experience it with less crowds! :thumbsup2

I really want to stay in AKL, but if I'm going for Food and Wine, I want to be close to Epcot...so who knows where we will end up? It also depends on if I get a pin code! :rotfl:

I have not been on Astro Orbitor in forever. I really think the last time I went on it was the first trip we took when I was four. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it.

Ugh Astro Orbiter!!! I'm guessing that's there for kids more than adults...kids like spinning rides like that!

Oh man, I hated Astro Orbiter. I just went on it so I could say I'd been on every ride at MK.

UGH Astro Orbiter! :lmao: I'm glad I went on it once, just to say that I did, but never again!!!

Yay! I was upset about missing FOTLK...but I know I will be back again sooner or later, and it will still be there! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I love the Osborne lights, they're so pretty! I have more pics from the next night that I like a little better!

LOL I don't think I will ever bother with the Astro Orbiter again, unless I have a kid of my own and it wants to go on! Until then, no thank you!

I like the TR. :thumbsup2

Thank you!
