wdwgirl and Dad do Disney:an April '10 PTR...TR LINK ADDED!! p. 56

Hey! :welcome: to my PTR. Nice to see another Wisconsinite too. :thumbsup2 What part of WI do you live in if you don't mind me asking?

I can't wait to start the TR either!!

My family and I live in the south eastern part of the state. Aren't you loving this weather? It can warm up anytime.

Hi! Well, I finally made it over here and caught up! I love all your Top Ten Lists!

That is awesome that you've been going for that long and have seen so many things come & go over the years. I was 23 the 1st time I went, but my kids were 3 & 1. Hopefully, they will be able to have a similar experience, growing up with Disney World & making great & lasting memories!

I need to figure out when my 100 day countdown is & start a countdown to it! :rotfl:

Ohhhh such cute pictures! My parents were the same way, they weren't big on picture taking so I don't have many photos at all. I went once with George (then my boyfriend) almost twenty years ago and didn't take one picture either!

Man, how cool would that have been to look back at those pictures and show them to our kids now? Dang. Well, thankfully I'm reformed and now take hundreds of pictures of everything!

It's funny because when I was younger and had my disposable camera with 30 exposures and I thought that was SOOOO many. LOL!

Sounds like we're neighbors then...we're in SE Wisconsin too. :thumbsup2 The cold weather is not fun, especially when I have recess duty at school! Brrrr.

Welcome! Glad to have another reader.

We have definitely been spoiled with the number of Disney trips we've taken. It's so nice to be DVC members now too so we can keep going back. Love it! :goodvibes

Going to check out your PTR now!

I loved the feel of the Poly when DBF and I went there for O'Hana. So romantic. The terrible service at the restaurant kind of killed it for DBF, but I would still want to give it a try. For now, it's hard to justify the cost when it's just the two of us, but when we have kids, the idea of wrestling a stroller on a monorail sounds a lot better than wrestling one on a bus!

The Polynesian is awesome. I know I've asked my dad a couple times why he decided on the Poly when my sisters and I were younger and one of the reasons was that it was right on the monorail loop. Definitely a nice perk of the resort. :thumbsup2 But the atmosphere is so great too!

Hi there! Just saying hi for now...going back to read. :goodvibes

Hi! :welcome:...thanks for stopping by!

Wow! You're down to three months now!!! :woohoo:

I KNOW!!! Yippee!!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Catching up again.:goodvibes I don't know how I missed your last top ten list.:sad2: Anyways, I hope you had a good holiday!!:)

Wow!! Not much longer now!! You must be getting so excited!! The last two years we have went during Spring Break, so it feels funny not to be planning a trip for April this year. It's usually what helps me get through all our snowy, cold weather!!

Ahh...those are great pictures!!--and wonderful memories I'm sure. The Poly looks like such a beautiful resort!! Hoping to stay there one day.:cloud9:

Happy double-digits!!! :yay:

Love your old Poly pics! I wish the lakes were still safe to swim/wade in. I think it would be so much fun to go swimming on the Poly or WL beach.

A few Poly pics for you!

Hey Angie! Hope you had a good holiday too. :)

I am getting excited. I'm so ready to go!:banana: That stinks about not having a trip to plan. That's kind of how it was for us last year after Christmas. Even though we went earlier in December it was the first time since 2003 that we didn't have a Disney World/Disneyland trip planned. :sad2:

Happy double-digits!!! :yay:

Welcome back Brook! Hope you had a good trip. I enjoyed seeing your pics on facebook. :thumbsup2

haha, yeah, I remember a couple times when we stayed at the Poly that we'd wade out into the water even though we weren't supposed to...:rolleyes1

Love the pictures you posted!!! Ahhhh I wish I was there right now! :goodvibes

Aw..I love old school pics! :)

Me too. :goodvibes

Sorry I've been MIA and neglecting the DIS. It's just not the same when you don't have any trips planned :(

I know I saw it on your facebook, but I'm glad you liked Princess and the Frog! I still need to go see it. Almost everyone I know who has gone has liked it, so I'm really excited!

How awesome that you might be going back in December!!! I'll cross my fingers for ya!! And I loveeee all the new Disney Parks merch they just added...so much cute stuff!

Hey girl! I hear ya, it does suck when you have no trips planned. But atleast you just had your Rose Bowl/Disneyland trip! I bet that was fun. :thumbsup2

PATF was really good. Even Dad said that it was fun seeing a new movie like the old classic musicals. And I really like the soundtrack too! Can't wait to get it on DVD.

Yeah, my one sister is mad because everybody else is going soon except her so I think she wants to go (and go to Harry Potter land too!). I'm crossing my fingers too.

HAPPY WEEKEND!!!

Thought I'd post another update since we are now under 90 days! Surprisingly I do not know offhand how many days it is exactly. But it's getting closer!!!

First I thought I'd share my Disney Christmas gifts. I'm easy to shop for, anything Disney and I'm happy. ;)

Gingerbread Mickey vinylmation  and The Princess and the Frog soundtrack from my sisters. I love the vinylmation, it reminds me of Christmas in WDW/MVMCP. :goodvibes Plus it came in a cool tin.

Tinkerbell calendar!!! I think there might be one or two of you who appreciate that. ;) Love the Disney calendars!
100_5493.jpg

And another Tinkerbell calendar...a fairy picture for the entire year!:eek:
100_5494.jpg

Don't laugh, you know you are all jealous of me.

Dad and I have also been busy reading up on Disney trivia/secrets. Dad's been reading my Celebrations magazines and I've been reading The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World book. So many interesting things! Did you know that the Tower of Terror has some Moroccan architectural elements because the Imagineers noticed that the top of TOT was visible from the Morocco pavilion?! Who knew?! Crazy. I think we are going to make a list of certain things to look for...if we do I'll be sure to post it. :thumbsup2

And lastly I'll leave you with some more old pictures (hopefully I haven't posted these before!). Good times. :cloud9:

Tom Sawyer Island.

Look at the hub before Partners! Notice all the trees that are not there anymore because of Wishes.

Yay for being under 90 days! :woohoo: It won't be long now. What great gifts! I am really enjoying your old trip pics. The Full House comment made me laught out loud. :goodvibes

I don't know the days left until my trip either. I thought I'd keep a major countdown and actually use my Mickey paint chips to make a countdown calendar, but I just don't have the time! It's only through a ticker that I can keep track.

I love your Christmas gifts! The gingerbread Mickey vinylmation would probably not be the best gift for me though because it looks really good! I'd definitely want to eat it, and since I wouldn't be able to, I'd be looking for some other sweet treat to have. Haha. All because of a little plastic Mickey figure.

I think the fun part about the secrets and hidden stuff at WDW is that even if someone else knows about it and takes a picture to post on a TR, I still think it's fun to see these things on my own! I read about how the backs of the koala bears' heads on "it's a small world" are really hidden Mickeys and I've recently seen a bunch of pictures in TRs. Yet I still really want to see them for myself! The magic doesn't disappear just because I've already seen it in a photo.

As for the old pictures ... I love the windbreakers! I remember when having the most colorful one was definitely the best! Of course, there also had to be some pink in them! Don't you think that it was a lot easier to dress than that it would be now as a kid? A lot more comfortable too! I remember rarely wearing jeans as a kid; nowadays it's a lot more common! It was different colored legging, bike shorts, and sweatpants with elastic around the ankles for me!

The only countdown I have is in my planner. That's how I figured out when we'd hit the 100 days! OK, I guess that's a lie I have a countdown on my phone, on facebook, and my ticker...but I still don't know the exact days.

LOL, that is funny about wanting to eat the gingerbread. :rotfl:

I agree, seeing pictures/reading about all the secrets just makes you appreciate all the thought put into the parks!

hahaha, OMG yes, I would always wear leggings when I was younger. :rotfl::rolleyes1

Awesome gifts!! I love the Barney sweatshirt and I'm pretty sure I had one of those flowery jackets you guys are wearing in the picture at the hub!!! Hahahah love them!

haha, nice! Gotta love those jackets.

I like that shirt, and in purple, yes!

The old photos are awesome. There's a "Now and Then" photo thread on the Theme Parks Community Board you should post them to! I put up a few....but don't have many because all our photos are in traditional film format and I don't have the patience to sit around and scan many!
